Abbreviations used:
Chain (CH)
Slip stitch (SlSt)
Single crochet (SC)
Half double crochet (HDC)
Double crochet (DC)
Decreasing (dec): crochet 2 SC together

Material:
Yarn weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi)
e.g., 60% cotton 40% acrylic, Kacenka by Nitarna Česka Trebova, www.nitarna.cz
Yardage: 164 yards (150 meters) per 50g ball
You will need about 45 grams.

I used a hook 3 mm
Colors: 5744 turquoise, 6124 green, 3324 light pink, 3454 bright pink, 3374 red, 2254
orange, 7104 beige, 0010 white

Other material: 2 black buttons average 1 cm, toy filling, tiny buttons average 6 mm, 2 black
beads, one mushroom button of bigger bead size 6 mm

Size of finished cat: height 21 cm/ 8,3 inches, width of the head 13 cm/5 inches – but it
depends on used material

Instruction:
Head
crochet with light pink yarn, hook 3 mm. You will crochet continuously in spiral circle rounds –
it means that you will NOT join the rounds.

Beginning: 54 CH, join by one 1 SlSt


Round 1 - 12: single crochet in each stitch around (54 SC)
Round 13: 1 SC in next 6 stitches, dec – repeat 6 times totally, 6 SC (48 SC)
Round 14: single crochet in each stitch around (48 SC)
Round 15: 1 SC in next 5 stitches, dec – repeat 6 times totally, 6 SC (42 SC)
Round 16: single crochet in each stitch around (42 SC)
Round 17: 1 SC in next 4 stitches, dec – repeat 7 times totally (35 SC)
Round 18: 1 SC in next 3 stitches, dec – repeat 7 times totally (28 SC)
Round 19: 1 SC in next 2 stitches, dec – repeat 7 times totally (21 SC)
Round 20: 1 SC, dec – repeat 7 times totally (14 SC)
Round 21: dec – repeat 7 times totally (7 SC)

Fill the head with toy filling and sew the rest of the stitches together.

Legs: crochet first leg by green yarn and second by bright pink color yarn. You will crochet
continuously in spiral circle rounds – it means that you will NOT join the rounds.

Round 1: 2 CH, 8 SC in second stitch from hook (8 SC)


Round 2: inc in each stitch around (16 SC)
Round 3 - 9: single crochet in each stitch around (16 SC). End the work after round 9.

Crochet second leg using bright pink color yarn


Round 1: 2 CH, 8 SC in second stitch from hook (8 SC)
Round 2: inc in each stitch around (16 SC)

Round 3 – 9: single crochet in each stitch around (16 SC)


Round 10: join both legs in this round by this way: make 7 SC, insert hook in green leg and
crochet continuously 15 SC, skip one stitch and insert hook in pink leg and crochet 9 SC. You
will have 31 SC totally. There will be small hole between both legs – you will sew it.
Round 11 - 20: single crochet in each stitch around (31 SC)

Round 21: 1 SC in next 3 stitches, dec – repeat 6 times totally, 1 SC in next stitch (25 SC)
Round 21 - 23: single crochet in each stitch around (25 SC)
Fill the body with toy filling little by little.
Round 24: 1 SC in next 2 stitches, dec – repeat 6 times totally, 1 SC in next stitch (19 SC)
Round 25: single crochet in each stitch around (19 SC)
Round 26: 1 SC, dec – repeat 6 times totally, 1 SC in next stitch (13 SC)
Round 27 - 28: single crochet in each stitch around (13 SC). End the work after round 28.

Paws:
Crochet one paw by using turquoise color, crochet second paw by using light pink color. You will
crochet continuously in spiral circle rounds – it means that you will NOT join the rounds.

Round 1: 2 CH, 8 SC in second stitch from hook (6 SC)


Round 2: inc in each stitch around (12 SC)
Round 3 - 14: single crochet in each stitch around (12 SC)
Round 15: 1 SC in next 4 stitches, dec, 1 SC in next 4 stitches, dec ( 10 SC)
Round 16 - 21: single crochet in each stitch around (10 SC). End the work after round 21. Let
longer piece of the yarn for sewing the paw. Sew tiny buttons on beige paw. You will not filll
the paws by toy filling, they will stay empty. Sew the paws to the body.

Ears: work with bright pink color, make 2 pieces


Round 1: make 4 CH, insert hook in last stitch from the hook and make: 3 DC + 2 CH + 3 DC
+ 1 CH + 1 DC – all in one stitch. Don't turn the work.
Round 2: 1 CH, insert hook in the DC from previous round (make it same way like green part
of the eye) and make 1 SC in DC from previous round, 2 SC in middle stitch, 2 SC in DC from
previous round, 1 CH, end the work.

Break the ears in the half and sew inside. Fill the head with toy filling. Don't forget to fill the
corner under the ear. Make nice shape of the head .Then sew the edges of the head together.

Eyes: use white yarn and make two eyes.


Round 1: 5 CH, insert hook in second stitch from the hook and make 4 SC. Don't turn the
work and crochet continuously in circle direction
Round 2: 3 CH, 3 DC in one stitch – marked by blue dot

1 DC in next 2 stitches, 5 DC in one stitch, continue in circle direction, 1 DC in next 3 stitches,


2 DC in one stitch, join first DC with 1 SlSt (16 DC).

Green part of the eyes – use green color


Left eye:
Beginning: 5 CH, join with 1 SlSt and form the ring
Round 1: 3 CH as a 1st DC, 6 DC – you will have half-circle. Don't turn the work.
Round 2: 1 CH, insert hook in DC from previous round and you see on the picture below and
make 1 SC, 2 SC in the middle stitch from previous round, 2 SC in next DC from previous
round, 1 CH, end the work.

Right eye:
Beginning: 5 CH, join with 1 SlSt and form the ring
Round 1: 3 CH as a 1st DC, 6 DC – you will have half-circle. Don't turn the work.
Round 2: 2 CH, 1 SC in second stitch from the hook

2 SC in DC from previous round, as you see on the picture below, 2 SC in middle stitch from
the previous round, 1 SlSt, end the work.

Sew both part (white + green) of the eye together. Embroider the white parts using basic
embroidery stitch - one eye by turquoise and second eye by orange yarn. Sew black button on
the eye.

Muzzle: use bright pink color


4 CH, insert hook in last stitch from the hook and make 5 DC. You don't finish them, they will
stay on the hook – you will have totally 6 DC. Pull the yarn by all stitch and end the work. Let
longer threads for fasten the muzzle. Make a knot and pull free threads inside the head.
Embroider the mouth.

Cheeks: use beige yarn, make 2 pieces.


Beginning: 5 CH, join with 1 SlSt and form a ring
Round 1: 3 CH as a 1st DC, 10 DC, join first DC with 1 SlSt (11 DC), end the work. Sew the
cheeks on the head.

Mouse and pocket:


Head of the mouse
Beginning: use beige color yarn and make 5 CH, join with 1 SlSt and make a ring
Round 1: 3 CH as a 1st DC, 7 DC – you will get half circle, don't turn the work.
Round 2: 1 CH, insert hook in DS from previous round and you see on the picture below and
make 1 SC, 2 SC in the middle stitch from previous round, 2 SC in next DC from previous
round end the work

Ears: use beige color yarn, make 2 pieces


Beginning: 4 CH, join with 1 SlSt and make a ring
Round 1: 8 SC, join with 1 SlSt, end the work.

Pocket: use orange color yarn


Row 1: 11 CH
Row 2: insert hook in 4th stitch from the hook and make 8 DC, turn the work
Row 3: 1 CH, 1 SC in every stitch from previous row, end the work.

Tail: use beige color yarn


Make 8 CH, insert a hook in second stitch from the hook and make 7 SlSt in every stitch from
previous round, end the work.

Sew all parts of the mouse together (Note: the heart ribbon is my mark :-) . Sew beads as an eyes,
sew tiny buttons on the ears and mushroom button as a muzzle. Neaten free threads and sew
the pocket and mouse on the body. Embroider crosses on the green leg by using turquoise
yarn.
