Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to recommend Natalija Shumkovska for the UWC programme, since she is
volunteering for our non profit organization: “Civil Association for Protection and Advancement of
Homeless Animals Well-Being DAISY FAMILY” in Skopje for two years now.
Natalija started volunteering for our organization when we had an open call for volunteers who could
come with us to the public shelter for homeless dogs in Skopje, Vardarishte. The situation in which
the dogs were living there, and were treated was beyond terrible, and that is why we were going
there each week, sometime twice a week to feed the dogs, clean their kennels, treat them against
parasites, give them antibiotic, take the very sick and on euthanasia list dogs out, picture them and
post them for adoption. Even though Natalija was the youngest person who called in for
volunteering, without her presence, dedication and regular help, we would have not made it, to save
that many dogs from there, and improve the conditions in which they were staying.
She was always thoughtful, emotionally stable and there to lend a hand even in situations where our
activists were overwhelmed with emotions (sad and desperate feeling, of helplessness) because of
the situation that we witnessed there. She was very systematic and knew what needed to be done,
never leaving without finishing the tasks. She was many times motivating us to continue and bring
our moral up.
Natalija is always on time, always completing what she promised. During our actions in the shelter
she managed to inspire her friends from school to come to volunteer as well. She managed to collect
donations for our organization, and also always helped us during events where we would promote
our organization and sell items in exchange for donations for our dogs. When she was at our events
she was always communicating with people, explaining to them very politely about our cause and
goals, representing our work in detail and with care. We have full confidence in her to represent our
organization.
She was included in brainstorming processes, giving creative ideas about the ways we could engage
more with the population and promote adopting homeless animals. She was able to organize events
in her school where our organization could reach to the pupils and explain about our work.
Natalija is a very responsible young woman. Her compassionate heart and a wish and will to help
those in need is admirable. With her great social skills, she contributed to making our public image
even better. We are very grateful for all of her help.
Based on our experience together I can confidently recommend Natali for this academic programme.
Sincerely,
President of the organization,
Teona Georgievska
