Electrical Design Analysis for JRS Office

This document provides an electrical design analysis for a proposed branch office with a floor area of approximately 506 square meters. It includes computations of the various electrical loads for lighting, convenience outlets, small appliances, air conditioning units, and a water pump motor. The analysis then specifies the circuit requirements, service entrance conductors, service equipment, short circuit calculation, and voltage drop calculation to ensure code compliance and adequate power supply for the new building.

4. Use 1 - 2P, 30 AT Circuit Breaker, 2-sets + 1 Ground Wire Branch Circuits for 2.5 Hp
A.C.U.
5. Use 3 - 2P, 30 AT Circuit Breaker, 2-sets + 1 Ground Wire Branch Circuits for 3 TR.
A.C.Us.

1.2 Service Entrance Conductors:

Total Full Load Current:

(28,366.2 VA +25% (3920 VA))/230 V =127.59 A
*Use 2 – 50mm² + 1- 38mm² THHN Copper Wires

1.3 Service Equipment:

Maximum Current Ratings of Protective Device:

(10000 VA + 2059.2 VA + 250% (3920 VA))/230 V =95.04 A
*Use 1 – 150 AT, 225 AF, 2-Pole, 85 kAIC Molded Case Circuit Breaker
SHORT CIRCUIT CALCULATION

Utility Distribution Line;

2/0 cable, 20 ft.
Ru = .00835 Ω/100 ft. = (.00835Ω x 20)/100 ft. =.00167 Ω
Xu = .00333 Ω/100 ft. = (.00333Ω x 20)/100 ft. =.000667 Ω
Service Entrance;
50mm², 25 ft.
Rse = .0129 Ω/100 ft. = (.0129Ω x 25)/100 ft. =.00323 Ω
Xse = .00305 Ω/100 ft. = (.00305Ω x 25)/100 ft. =.000763 Ω

RT = Ru + Rse = .00167 Ω +.00323 Ω =.0049 Ω

XT = Xu + Xse = .000667 Ω + .000763 Ω =.00143 Ω

ZT = √(RT²+XT²)
ZT = √(.0049 Ω)²+(.00143 Ω)² =.00510 Ω

Isc = V/ZT = 230 V/.00510 Ω =45,098 A

VOLTAGE DROP CALCULATION

VD = (2 x k x I x L)/CM

= (2 x 12 x 11.3 x 144.4)/6530 = 5.997 V

Voltage Drop Percentage

%VD = (VD/V) x 100

= (5.997/230) x 100 = 2.6 % < 3% of allowable percentage

VD @ Service = 1.31 V

%VD @ service = .57% <2%

Total Voltage Drop Percentage = 3.17% <5% of allowable percentage
