Management Plan
Classroom Procedures and Routines
How do students enter the room?
Students will enter the room by greeting me with either a high five, hug, etc. This will
allow students to feel welcomed when they enter the classroom. I will put students name
on a stick, and they will put their name to how the feel that morning. Students will pick
their emoji when they walk into the classroom. This will help me better understand where
the student is emotionally for the day and will help me take attendance.
How do students leave the room?
Students will leave the classroom by either turning in an exit ticket or by being prepared
to leave the classroom such as putting their things away and cleaning their stations.
Students will make a single file line as they are called. Students will then get into order
using their number that is assigned to them. This step is out of precaution in case I cannot
locate a student.
This blog also has great ideas for dismissal:

How do students move around the room during the lesson?
I want to provide flexible seating if my room permits. I want students to be able to stand
if needed or sit on the floor rather than always being in their desk. A fun way for students
to mov around the classroom is for me to play music as a transition for them to move.
The songs will be related to what we are learning, for example it can be a letter song,
apple theme song, or counting song. On fun Friday I can play an educational parody for
the students. Furthermore, students will know when to move around to the next station
and when the music stops students will know that its time for them to be at the other
station.
Passing out and collecting papers/ passing out and collecting supplies
I will have assigned students in each week to have a job. This well be one job in the
classroom. I will have 3 to 4 students depending on the class size to help distribute
papers. I will call on the students and they will come and get the materials from me.
Student jobs will be posted in the classroom to ensure we keep track, and everyone
knows their roles. If students are sitting in tables I will call on their table to pick up
supplies as needed.
Water, Restroom, and Pencil Sharpening.
Students will be able to have water with them. However, water will be by their feet, so
they do not spill on their work. For restroom use, students will raise their hands and show
me their fingers crossed to let me know. Students will then take a bathroom pass. I will
have students sharpen their pencils in the morning. However, to avoid the noise if
students need a new pencil during class session, I will have two cups out for them. One
will be for sharpened pencils and the other will be for pencils that need to be sharpened at
the end of the day. I will then assign a student to do this before the day is over as a
classroom job.

Classroom Physical Environment
Classroom layout with Rationale
I want to have a calming corner in my classroom because I believe that SEL is very
important if students are struggling emotionally then they will not be ready to learn. This
corner will help students self-regulate and be ready to learn.
Flexible seating is something that I really want to incorporate
In my classroom. I believe that this will have students focus.
Bulletin boards will be used to display student work and anchor charts that will benefit
the students. I will also put motivational posters to encourage students. I believe posting
student work on the bulletin board will give them self-gratification and something they
can be proud of.
Student Management
I believe in making classroom rules as a class and getting student input. This will help
them follow the rules since they are the ones that created them. I will prompt students and
lead them to good classroom rules.
Behavior status will be posted for students to monitor and see the consequences, so they
are always aware.
Parent Involvement
Welcome Letter
Welcome Letter will contain classroom procedures and rules. It will also give parents
information on how to contact me and monitor students’ progress. Furthermore, it will let
parents know a little bit about me and my teaching style.

When students are demonstrating good behavior, I will give student coupons in order
to reward them. This will help students want to follow along and remain on task.
Students will then be able to trade the coupons for a reward.
Participation expectations
I will have a jar with sticks that has the name of every student. I will call on students
to ensure that participation happens. However, to lower their affective filter students
will always have a phone a friend that they can choose if they like in order to help
them when asked a question. I want my class to have a lot of cooperative learning and
work in groups as much as possible. I think it is beneficial for students to work as a
team and learn from each other. I will assign roles and alternate the roles when
students are working in groups. I will always make sure to write the roles so students
can remember what their task is.
Key instructional phrases
I want students to know at least 5 attention getters so that I can change it up. I think it
is important to practice these as much as possible because when students are working
or being too disruptive, I need to be able to bring them back. Some of the attention
getters I want to try are mannequin challenge (students freeze) and waterfalls
(students say shhhh..).
I want to focus on my introduction when it comes to instruction because I want to
grab as much student interest as I can. I also want to write the object so that students
can know what the purpose of the lesson is.
