Objectives
• To understand the Emergency Medical Services.
• To learn clinical knowledge and skills to quickly assess
and manage emergencies.
• To perform a complete and appropriate assessment of
acutely ill patients, i.e. a well-organized history and
physical examination.
• To select appropriate investigations including laboratory
and diagnostic imaging, with careful attention to patient
safety, diagnostic utility and cost to interpret the results
accurately and within their clinical context
• Differential diagnosis of common illnesses presenting to Eligibility

Learning methodology:
• Learn to establish good patient-doctor relationships in Online Learning
the acute care settings. The online learning program will be for a duration of 120
Hours. The online content shall be in the form of e-books,
case studies, animations on concepts, recorded videos of
lectures covering the module content supported by live
lectures and hands-on training during the contact program.
A login username and password will be provided to access
the content of the learning management system. You can
access the course content on a computer or mobile phone
at your convenience.

With healthcare industry undergoing so many

Assessment
Attested log book by the ER trainer
MCQ based online module-wise assessment
A minimum of 60% is required in each module
Final Examination: Paper 1 - Theory (100 marks), Paper 2 -
MCQ's (200 marks)
To be eligible for the final exam, the candidate should have
successfully completed all the module tests online, should
have submitted the duly signed logbook and completed 12
months of clinical training.
Viva Format
The viva examination will have 3 stations/examiners
Station Examiner 1: Medical Emergencies with a mix of
Obstetrics + Gynecology or Pediatric emergencies
Station Examiner 2: Rhythm recognition and defibrillation
(compulsory)
Station Examiner 3: A mix of Trauma & Orthopedics or
Surgical Emergencies
Certification:
The overall marks shall be the average score of all three
stations
Rhythm recognition and defibrillation station is a
compulsory pass. A candidate will fail the overall viva if
he/she doesn't pass this station.
Examiners’ expectation: Overall the examiners would be
looking for a structured, safe approach and firstly doing no
harm, with the candidates looking to seek seniors help if
necessary.
On successful completion of the log book and final exam
with a minimum of 90% attendance in theory and clinical
sessions, the students will be awarded the "Fellowship in
Emergency Medicine" jointly by Medvarsity and The Royal
Liverpool Academy.
