Stewardship
“We must remember,
we are stewards of
what God has provided
for us not owners.”
-Joyce Meyers
2
What is stewardship?
An ethic that embodies the responsible planning and
management of resources. The concepts of stewardship
can be applied to the environment and nature, economics,
health, property, information, theology, cultural resources
etc.
In biblical world view this is the act of "Utilizing and
managing all resources God provides for the
glory of God and the betterment of His creation."

Environmental Stewardship
There are so many pressing environmental problems of
today’s generation such as the mismanagement of natural
resources, destructions of ecosystem, & extinctions of floral
and faunas that need our immediate understanding and
attention.
Saving the world ought to be paramount to every human
who wants to stay alive for longer time to serve his purpose,
to treasure his wealth, to explore his knowledge, or simply
to live his life the way he/she wants it.
4
Environmental Stewardship
Saving the world and its physical structure is more than
Big concept
a sociopolitical responsibility because spiritual
connections of nature and life, transcends mere
obligation of humans to nature.
Hence, being an environmental stewardess ought to be a
personal and moral battle every rational person must
engage with.
5
The principle of ownership.
“The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and
all who live in it.”
God owns everything therefore, stewardship expresses our
obedience regarding the administration and managing of
environment and all life forms in his behalf and recognizing
our commitment as humans in the taking care of his
possessions.
Principle of Stewardship 6
The principle of responsibility.
“Although God gives us “all things richly to enjoy,” nothing is ours. Nothing
really belongs to us. God owns everything; we’re responsible for how we
treat it and what we do with it. While we complain about our rights here on
earth, the Bible constantly asks, What about your responsibilities?
Owners have rights; stewards have responsibilities.”
While God has graciously entrusted us with the care, development,
and enjoyment of everything he owns as his stewards, we are
responsible to manage his holdings – the environment & all life forms
well and according to his desires and purposes.
Principle of Stewardship 7
The principle of accountability.
“We are all stewards of the resources, abilities and opportunities
that God has entrusted to our care, and one day each one of us
will be called to give an account for how we have managed what
the Master has given us.”
God has entrusted authority over the creation to us, and we are
not allowed to rule over it as we see fit. We are called to exercise
our dominion under the watchful eye of the Creator managing
his creation in accord with the principles he has established.
Principle of Stewardship
8
The principle of reward.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord,
not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the
Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Faithful stewards who do the master’s will with the master’s resources
can expect to be rewarded incompletely in this life, but fully in the next.
We need to embrace to become faithful stewards of the environment ,
thinking that what we are doing goes beyond the financial return of
investment but rather believing that every small deed that we do to
conserve our environment will reward us in unexpected ways.

Activity:
Starting a garden is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Plant
fragrant florals or start a vegetable garden or a herb garden and
everyone can benefit from getting their hands a little dirty.
Instructions:
* Consider what to plant first. Is it a vegetable garden? An
ornamental or flowering garden? Or a herb garden?
* Pick the correct spot. Pick a relatively flat spot near in your
house or at your backyard or at the community only. Check for windbreaks
and if the location is near at the water supply. Consider also the plants that
you are going to plant if the locations climate is suitable for it.
* Clear the ground. Get rid of the sod covering the area you
plan to plant. Smother also the grass on the plot area.
11
Instructions:
* Improve and Work the Soil. The more fertile the soil, the
better your vegetables will grow. Working the soil is essential to preparing
new beds for sowing or planting because it allows roots to penetrate the
soil more easily to access water and nutrients.
* Start Planting. Pick your plants. Decide what crops or
vegetables you wanted to grow with your plot. Some of the vegetables
which are easy to grow includes eggplants, okras, lettuce, petchay,
tomatoes, etc.. If you plan to have an ornamental or flowering gardens
sunflowers and roses are easy to grow from seed directly in the garden.
12
• Maintain your garden. This part of planting is the most
difficult one in the planting process as it involves wats on how to
maintain and protect your garden. So, water your plants at the
right time. Enrich the soil with compost. Pull weeds before they
get big. Get rid of dead, dying, and diseased vegetation. Banish
destructive insects by picking them off the plant . Support tall
plants (such as tomatoes or vine vegetables) with a trellis, stake,
or a tepee. Also, harvest vegetables as soon as they’re ready.
To show the progress and development of your garden, document
you’re gardening sessions by writing a narrative and taking photos
of the gardening activity.
Harvested vegetables or grown ornamental plants could be
distributed to your neighbors or relatives in the community for
their benefits.
Things to consider:
Do the gardening near your area or on your own community only.
Set goal and objectives for the activity.
Set your schedule, as taking care of plants is a great responsibility
for a great result at the end.
You may ask assistance from your relatives, siblings and parents
for the conduct of the activity.
Plant trees and plants which will benefit your community.

Remember this on doing the activity…
There is still COVID19, then as much as possible, we
should not leave our residence. Also, we should observe
basic safety protocols in doing this activity.
EVERYONE’S SAFETY IS TOP PRIORITY.
“When you leave this earth you can take with
you nothing that you have received, only what
you have given.”
Thank You!
