AGENDA: Address malnutrition at school

DAY AND TIME: Saturday 8:00 - 12:00 PM

WHERE: SCHOOL GYMNASIUM

School Head: Good morning everyone. First of all, thank you for coming despite your tight schedule. As
everyone already knows from the letter we have sent, we are gathered here for today to address a
problem our children are currently facing - that is malnutrition. Based on our observation for the past
few weeks, many kids get sleepy at class, some even shows malnourishment thus they are
underperforming. This is true most especially for kids who walk to school 1 hour from home as they will
eat their baon upon arrival in school so no more to eat for lunch. As a result, they are restless and
inattentive and so poor performance. With this problem at hand, I hope we could solve this problem
with the suggestions we could infer from this meeting. What can all you say about this?

Barangay Official: With regards to this issue Ma’am. I think we should first categorize those students
who are underweight and malnourished and conduct a meeting with their parents so we could hear
what suggestions they could offer since it is for the betterment of their children. In behalf of the
Barangay Community, I would like to suggest if we could conduct a “Feeding Program”. We could make
use of our natural resources since our community and the school has its own vegetable garden, we can
make nutritious food and utilize help from the parents in making foods for the children.

NGO Representative: I agree. I believe that such idea is great and our organization is gladly willing to
help and participate in this event. We can provide some assistance financially and provide additional
service during the Feeding Program. As a representative of our organization, we aim to help and support
this kind of endeavor in order to lessen or eradicate this kind of issues.

School Head: That is very gladly to hear and thank you very much for participating in this endeavor. So
now, I would like to ask the opinion of our teachers and parents regarding the schedule of conducting
the program.

Teacher: We may start conducting the program immediately next week, Mondays to Fridays, at 9:00 am
in the morning. And I additionally want to suggest that all children will be part of the feeding program
but those who are malnourished and has poor performance in the class due to hunger will be given a
more amount of food.

School Head: Okay, so we will effectively conduct this on that note.

PTA: As a parent and the president of the association, we will participate in this program. The parents
and particularly the officers will be assigned on cooking the foods that will be served to the children.
Also, the PTA be conducting a meeting every Friday together with the teachers to plan the menu for the
next week and other important matters to be discussed regarding this.

Teacher: Yes, and we will assure that the foods that will be given to the children are healthy and they
will be satisfied with the food.

Student Leaders:

School Head: Thank you everyone for coming and giving favor on this meeting. Your presence are all
highly and active involvement on this matter about of children are appreciated. Meeting adjourned and
good day everyone!
