A. Significance of the Study

The study enhances the capability of eliminating waste in various

waterways in a versatile and effective manner. The model has a great potential to

change with in the collection of waste on waterways. Through the use of wireless

remote, people can improve the methods wherein waste can be collected even

unattended. The model can also be used in places where there are noticeable

circulating wastes which have to be removed.

Below is a list of significant contributions of the study.

 In global context, the study will help agricultural industry as it is a major

consumer of fresh water. Agriculture uses 70 percent of global freshwater.

Food production has grown by more than 100 percent in the last 30 years.

So by eliminating these waste can positively affect the global food

production as the population continuously increasing.

 In economic context, the study will will improve countries' economic

growth and makes a significant contribution on fighting poverty. The

government can use this model to allow technological improvements in

waste collection in various waterways. Enhanced water quality and

treatment, as well as better water resource control, improve economic

development and lead substantially reducing poverty.

 In environmental context, the study helps fight pollution as the number of

waste in bodies water greatly increasing and affecting wildlife. Experts

report that 4.8–12.7 million tons of waste reach the ocean per year as a

result of the intensive use of plastics. Micro-plastics form as concrete

steadily degrades. These micro-plastics can be consumed by fish, which

can then be consumed by humans which can lead various diseases.

 In societal context, the study will help Residents along waterways as they

could be harmed during rough weather when waterways get clogged with

waste, causing flooding. Using the model to gather waste on waterways

will help to avoid flooding and harmful pollution. Cleaner systems of

freshwater also provide water for consumption, crops, irrigation, electricity

and transportation.

B. Scope and Delimitation

The study covers the development of collection of waste in waterways

using a model of enhanced waste collector. Furthermore, the study aims to

increase the chance of collecting waste with an improved model. Its purpose is

in the hope of resolving the problem of water pollution that greatly affects

biodiversity and human life. The waste collected from the water would be lifted by

the conveyor system and deposited directly in the container. The model includes

a waterproof casing, which can be used in rainy seasons and wet environments.

The study will be conducted on as much as possible in different weather

conditions to find specifics results at waterways with severe contamination of

waste products.

Due to design constraints, this study does not cover collection of the bigger

waste products. The model waste collector is only capable of collecting floating

waste and unable to reach the submerge waste.
