In this configuration the Spacer is used
to evaluate the asimmetric space
between the tibial resection and the
posterior condyles in order to
determine the correct femoral rotation
angle by testing the joint using the
Angled Plates untill finding the one
better matching the volume.

To evaluate the Extension Gap the Baseplate
Spacer is assembled with:

volumes before doing the final femoral
cuts and also to possibly modify the
reference (anterior/posterior) and the
femoral size according to the necessity

Lower Plate fits the GAP, the selected
femoral size will be suitable.

If the Spacer assembled with 10mm
Lower Plate is too loose, it will be
necessary to CLOSE the GAP.

1 INCREASING the femoral size:
By keeping the ANTERIOR reference
given by the Guide Pins, replace the
Resection Guide with 1 size larger.
This will cut 2mm less the posterior 10mm
condyles, thus balacing the FLEXION
GAP to the same value of the
EXTENSION GAP.

2 KEEPING the same femoral size:
moving the Resection Guide 2mm
posteriorly, taking care not to create
excessive anterior "notching".
Place 2 Pins in the central couple of the 10mm
posterior holes.
Remove the anterior Pins and move the
Resection Guide in the more anterior
couple of holes (thus shifting the Guide
2mm posteriorly).

FLEXION GAP EVALUATION
If the Spacer assembled with 10mm
Lower Plate is too tight, it will be
necessary to OPEN the GAP.

1 REDUCING the femoral size:
By keeping the ANTERIOR reference
given by the Guide Pins, replace the
Resection Guide with 1 size smaller.

condyles, thus balacing the FLEXION
GAP to the same value of the
EXTENSION GAP.
