  • Method Statement - Raft Foundation Concrete Pouring: Details the procedures and requirements for the Raft Foundation Concrete Pouring process, including tools, safety measures, and pre- and post-concreting steps.
METHOD OF STATEMENT - RAFT FOUNDATION CONCRETE PORING 1. LOCATION & SCOPE 4.1 RAFT CONCRETE: 4.1.1 Tools & Equipment Required Concrete Pump Truck Mixer Concrete Vibrator Shovels Floats Survey Instruments Health & Safety Requirements : 4.1.2 Health & Safety Requirements : ‘* Safety of the personnel and properties is to be given prime importance and all the works to be carried out without causing any accident or property damages * Follow the Approved Project HSE Manual and Regulation. 4.1.3 Material : Ready mix Concrete as per Specification & engineer approval. 4.1.4 Application: Pre-Concreting .In foundation, after fixing the reinforcements cleaning shall be carried out by blowing ‘compressed air through a nozzle to the bottom of rebar. The surveyor shall check the line and levels after which, the QC inspector shall be conduct inspection. The QC inspection will ensure that no item such as rebar, spacer block, any embedded item, has been disturbed or displaced by the cleaning operations, fa water bar (Water stopper) is to be installed and required in the RCC. or structural element, ensure the following: Water bar is securely fixed ‘Water bar is placed in the correct level and alignment Welded joint are correctly executed. b. The Engineers inspection shall follow within 24 hour from the timing of Seapal submitted WIR. If the Engineer finds the works satisfactory, he shall sign off the WIR and release the work to continue. However, if the Engineer fined some items in the site work need corrective action, he shall hold the release of work, until such time that deficient items are corrected by stating the deficiencies on WIR. The release of work WIR with "Approved" status will authorize to. be inspect by AlSuweidi resident engineer - before the commencement of concrete placing. Placing Concrete * Ensure the concrete design mixed is approve. * To check the allowed ambiance temperature for scheduled concrete pouring * To check before pouring for concrete temperature limits of 5 deg. Celsius up to 30 deg. Celsius. + To ensure all type of newly casted concrete poured structure has cube samples for monitoring of 7-28 days compressive strength. * The contractor shall take (6) 150mm cube for every 100 m3 a. With the authorization release to start concrete pouring through Sepal -PM and Engineer's approval, concrete of specified strength shall be requested from the approved ready mix concrete supplier. Concrete of desired designed mix shall be delivered to the site through transit mixers, each truck having a concrete Delivery Ticket / Receipt, bearing relevant data of concrete load. b. Slump and concrete temperature are to be check by Engineers and AlSuweidi representative base on the designed slump and allowable concrete temperature. METHOD OF STATEMENT - RAFT FOUNDATION CONCRETE PORING ‘Slump is to be taken by laboratory technician at site applying the required fresh concrete tests as per required and requested by Engineer following the fresh code d. Adding water to truck mixer is strictly not allowed at all time, Engineer has the right to reject, cancel the delivered concrete, and recammend to replace with new and or stop the casting in this reason and purposes. . During hot weather, All concrete delivery should be with ice to maintain the temperature before placing, 1, The concrete shall be deposited by a concrete pump starting from both ends of the formworks at the typical practice rate 90 cu. m. per hour. Concrete shall be poured as closed as possible to its final positions, in layers not exceeding 300mm of consolidated thickness. Layers of concrete shall be carried out in good timing that the concrete in the previous layer has not attained Its initial set before the succeeding layer is laid, and that compaction/vibration in between layers shall be made good to prevent cold joint. During the concrete pouring when only one (2) concrete pump is used two to four ~ inch diameter vibrators shall be used for concrete consolidation, with an additional one(1) unit of vibrator on standby. h. The concrete shall be poured at a drop height of not more than 0.5 meters, A rope of 1.0 meters length shall be hanged from the open end of the flexible hose of the concrete pump, to ensure that the hose operator can maintain within the required height. Immediately after placing and compacting, the exposed concrete shall be graded to desired level. Also for concreting during hotweather at summer months, the ‘Temperature of concrete when deposited “does not” exceed 30 deg. Celsius. m. General Foreman shall be responsible for routine inspection during concrete pouring to ensure that all works are proceeding according to this method statement and the project specification, n. If there is problem or non-compliance to specifications for this method statement, The Construction Manager shall be notified immediately in order to provide early remedial actions, Concrete Delivery: All concrete delivering truck mixer shall be accompanied each with a concrete batch ticket or delivery receipt. With the site engineer or his representative shall check these tickets against the concrete requisition form to ensure that the delivered concrete is ‘same as the requested one. He shall be also raceived the concrete load by signing the ticket or delivery receipt. 1. QC Inspector shall check the type of delivered concrete and ensure the delivered concrete to site is the define one, and ensure that any additive shall be added to the concrete on site under the consultant approval additive material recommendation. (Refer to approved design mix) 2. QC Inspector shall write the time of arrival and departure of concrete truck mixer from site on the ticket or delivery receipt. 3. Truck mixer shall return to the batching plant, after discharging its concrete load. Delivery ticket or receipt, properly Signed from the pouring site shall be stamped by a time clock, marking the truck arrival at the batching plant. Concrete Curing: The finished surface will be cleaned ensuring that it is free from contaminants. Curing compound as per the Engineer's recommendation can be used, the application of the curing compound shall be comply strictly with the manufacturer's instruction. From the above curing method, variation shall be adopted when concreting during hot weather with the following: In case of large area as in continuous pour, the curing operation shall commence METHOD OF STATEMENT - RAFT FOUNDATION CONCRETE PORING immediately on the completed and surface finished section without waiting for the whole pouring to be finished. ‘When the concrete surface is hard enough to resist damage, the exposed concrete surface shall be closely covered with polythene sheet, properly secured to prevent removal by wind and development of air spaces beneath it. This shall be stay in place and moist for seven 7 days Post Concreting : 1. After completion of the curing period, as specified, a visual inspection shall be carried out by QC inspector to verify and ascertain that there are no concrete surface deficiencies. 2 In case of surface deficiencies spotted, appropriate corrective and remedial repairs shall be initiated immediately, after curing in accordance with method statement for concrete repairs. After satisfactory corrective repairs of the surface deficiencies, WIR is raised to get the Engineers approval of works.
