G.

Pulla Reddy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
G. Pulla Reddy (telugu: పుల్లా రెడ్డి) was a philanthropist and a humanist from Andhra Pradesh, India, best known

for G. Pulla Reddy chain of retail sweet outlets in Hyderabad and Kurnool. His organization is famous for its
work ethics and accountability. G Pullareddy Sweets, a sweet mart with a touch of class and in a league of its
own, a sweet mart. It has created a place of its own despite the influx of many big and small names. It’s a
sweet mart which has come to occupy a symbolic place in the annals of Andhra Pradesh as much as
Charminar, Birla Mandir and of course the breathtaking Tankbund.

History

Sweets and G Pullareddy seem to be made for each other, there seems to be a strange chemistry between the
two. Both don’t compromise on the quality aspect and the same has been the hallmark of the legend 'G
Pullareddy Sweets'. It is interesting to know the humble beginning of the sweet mart and the numerous
obstacles that it had to overcome to reach the #1 position.

The man behind the legend, Sri G Pullareddy took off in a typical Indian tradition selling his sweets on a small
cart, which he carted along. That was back in the year 1948 when the nation as a whole was still basking in its
newfound glory of freedom. He was 28 years old, he dared to dream, and his dream dared to become a reality
and a spectacular success. Thus, the saga that began in the busy and crowded lanes of Kurnool went on to
become a sort of rags to riches dream. The sheer willpower, grit, and determination of the man have become
part of what one can call Historic Folklore.

The values that the man held dear, that is values of Purity, Integrity and Honesty, still lies intact and has kept
alive the fair and neat name of the sweet mart. The crux of the values has catapulted the earthy beginnings in a
cartwheel to 4 shops, 2 of which are in Kurnool and 2 in Hyderabad. Stringent and tough standards of quality
are the bywords of G Pullareddy Sweets and there has been no let up in the same since its humble beginnings.
Moreover, mind it all this despite the fact that today it has become a legend in its lifetime. The norms that the
sweets has to be pure and thick, the milk rich, tasty and creamy and the dry fruits that go into its content the
best of the best still holds true and implemented. These simple guidelines have not been forgotten despite the
passage of time.
