Series of 2018

“EXECUTIVE ORDER ESTABLISHING THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN


(VAW) DESK AND DESIGNATING THE VAW DESK OFFICER IN THE
BARANGAY”

WHEREAS, RA 9710 Otherwise known as the Magna Carta of Women seeks to


eliminate discrimination against woman by recognizing, protecting fulfilling
and promoting the rights of Filipino women especially those in the marginalized
sector;
WHERAS, Joint memorandum circular No. 2010-2 dated December 9, 2010
provides for the guidelines in the establishment of a Violence Against Women
(VAW) Desk in every barangay;

WHEREAS, the punong barangay shall designate an area within the barangay
hall for the VAW desk. S/He shall provide for the necessary furniture and
fixtures such as, but not limited to, table, chairs, separate filing cabinet and
log book for record-keeping cases. Likewise, the punong barangay shall ensure
the confidentiality of the case and privacy and safety of the victim-survivor.

NOW, THEREFORE, I ROLANDO F. ALBINO, Punong Barangay of Paitan


Santa Maria, Pangasinan by the virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do
hereby establish the Violence Against Women (VAW) Desk of Barangay Paitan,
Santa Maria , Pangasinan, as follows:

Section 1. Violence Against Women (VAW) Desk Officer. The Desk Officer is
hereby designated in the person of KAGAWAD VIRGINIA T. MOLDEZ.

Section 2. Functions of Barangay VAW Desk


1. Respond to gender-based violence cases brought to the barangay;
2. Record the number of gender-based violence handles by the barangay
and submit a quarterly report on all cases of VAW to the DILG Municipal
Office and the MSWDO;
3. Keep a VAW case records confidential and secured and ensure that only
authorized personnel can access it;
4. Assist victims VAW in securing Barangay Protection Order (BPO)
5. Develop barangay gender-responsive plan in addressing gender-based
violence;
6. Coordinate with and refer cases to government agencies, no-government
organization (NGO’s) institution and other service providers;
7. Address other forms of abuse committees against women especially
senior citizens, women with disabilities and another marginalized group;
and
8. Perform other related functions as may assigned.
Section 3. Effectivity

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.

Done in Barangay Paitan, Santa Maria, Pangasinan this 13 th day of July 2018.
