1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Project Description
This project involves the replacement works of twenty-nine (29) lift units and other
related works at Apartment A, Pangkalan TLDM Lumut, Perak. The blocks involved in
this project are A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A10, A11, A12, A13, A14, A25 and A26.
The lift installation process will be carried out in five phases to make sure that the
project is completed on time. For the first four phases, six (6) lift units will be installed
while the remaining five (5) lift units will be installed in the last phase.
Therefore, in order to avoid any delay in between the phase and all works in line
with Jabatan Kerja Raya requirement, a method statements was constructed. This section
will explain in detail the slope construction works that will be carried out at each block
stated above.

1.2 Objective

The purpose of this work method statement is to provide the personnel associated with the
works referred with appropriate work methodology and test procedures do that the Quality
requirements as defined can be accomplished when planning and executing the works
describe herein. This Work Method Statement covers the preparation and placement of a
concrete topping and sand-cement screed mix on structural slab surface in preparation for
final floor finish and to construct slope at landing door. The following table shall be used to
classify the material and method to be used:

4.3.2 Training
Maintains process for ensuring that personnel performing specific critical roles
competent on the basis of,
 Awareness.
 Experience & knowledge.
 Skills.
 Conduct daily pep talk.
 Daily walk around on site for quality implements.
 Awareness to site team about job cards.
 Conduct to site team for method of work.

4.3.3 Other Information


• The workplace should be cleaned at the end of the day.
• Avoid direct contact with sand-cement screed material.
• Site safety sign and rules shall be strictly followed.
• Utilized the cement mixing, and vibrating equipment in accordance
With the manufactures instruction.
• Wear personal protective equipment & high visibility jackets at the site.

5.0 WORK METHODOLOGY

1. Site survey for dimension taking


2. Establish finish elevation markings as required.
3. Prepare guide on floor in accordance with the required topping elevation.
Make sure the thickness of finish is considered as required.
4. Randomly scratch upon Finish Floor Level surface approximately 1 – 10mm.
5. Construct slope at gradient 1:10 measuring from onsite landing door.
6. Apply the concrete topping or sand-cement screed to the required depth.
Make sure that the concrete topping or sand-cement screed is evenly
applied before finishing operation takes place.
7. Level the surface to the desired finish.
