Hydrodynamic Bearing Performance Calculations

This document provides data for a 3600 rpm hydrodynamic bearing, including the journal diameter, bearing length, journal speed, oil film thickness, lubricant viscosity and density, and lubricant specific heat. It also specifies the fit between the journal and bearing. It asks to calculate the load carrying capacity, coefficient of friction, power lost to friction, lubricant flow rate, side leakage, and temperature rise. Formulas are provided for load carrying capacity and viscosity calculations. Additional data is given for a second bearing, including radial load, permissible pressure, length to diameter ratio, journal speed, radius clearance ratio, lubricant viscosity and properties. It asks to calculate the length, journal diameter, coefficient of friction, oil film thickness, power lost
