2. The Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives of Nestlé Philippines focus on three main
programs. They have created CSR strategies for individuals and families, the environment, and
the communities, impacting their stakeholders. These strategies have significant effects on the
lives of the people, including families, communities, employees, students, farmers, and other
stakeholders. They have programs for Individual and Families the Kasambuhay ng Pamilyang
Pilipino Program. This program supports one million families and thousands of frontline
workers, employees, and business partners[ CITATION Nes20 \l 13321 ]. Its effects spread to
different areas and stakeholders, which inflict positive impacts on individuals and families. For
Communities the NESCAFÉ Plan which is to produce high-quality coffee plantlets and provide a
professional agronomist through educating the farmers with capacity building and technical
training. This plan positively impacts the farmers’ knowledge and skills and the quality of work
and coffee harvest. And Lastly for the Environment, the Kasambuhay for the Environment,
Nestle being one of the largest food and beverage manufacturer globally, was called to take
initiatives and have the lead role in tackling one of the society’s pressing issue which is the
Climate Change. In connection to this, Nestle envisioned to halve their Greenhouse Gas
Emissions by 2030 and remove all their greenhouse gas emissions not later than 2050. In the
Philippines, aside from the Kasambuhay ng Pamilyang Pilipino, Nestle also has a program called
Kasambuhay for the Environment which aims to reduce and avoid carbon emissions by 75% as
of 2030. Nestle is innovating their products packaging in order to make it recyclable and
reusable. They also had made partnerships with the Republic Cement in order to further extend
and improve their efforts of collecting post-consumer plastic wastes for cement kiln co-
processing. This is another victory for Nestle as they now have a partner in improving their
environment related CSR efforts.
In conclusion, Nestle's attempts to extend and develop their CSR in order to help with pressing
environmental problems demonstrate how empathic the company is when it comes to the
climate. These policies and actions show the importance they place on the ecosystem, which is
our primary source of capital. Nestle's and its partner corporations' and organizations' initiatives
will be realized and felt by the globe, not only by its people, but also by the majority of living
things in all types of terrain, as long as they are maintained and continued for a long time.
