Foodborne illness is caused by consuming contaminated foods or beverages.

Many different disease-causing microbes or pathogens can contaminate foods, so
there are many different types of foodborne illnesses.
Most foodborne diseases are infections caused by a variety of bacteria, viruses, and
parasites. Other diseases are poisonings caused by harmful toxins or chemicals that
have contaminated food.

Of note many foodborne pathogens also can be acquired through recreational or

drinking water, from contact with animals or their environment, or through person-
to-person spread.

Let’s Do this!!!
Note:
Safe steps in food handling, cooking, and storage are essential to prevent
foodborne illness. You can't see, smell, or taste harmful bacteria that may cause
illness. In every step of food preparation, follow the four steps of the Food Safe
Families campaign to keep food safe:

 Clean — Wash hands and surfaces often.

 Separate — Don't cross-contaminate.
 Cook — Cook to the right temperature.
 Chill — Refrigerate promptly.

Foodborne illnesses don't just come from restaurants. In fact, they usually come
from bad food preparation, serving, and storage at home. Follow the guidelines
below to keep your food as safe as possible:

 Wash hands and surfaces

often using hot, soapy water. Wash
your hands before and after you
handle food or utensils, especially
raw meat, poultry, fish, or eggs.
 Wash all fruits and
vegetables before eating.
 Separate raw, cooked, and
ready-to-eat foods. Keep raw meat,
poultry, fish, or eggs away from other
foods to prevent cross-
contamination. If possible, use
separate cutting boards for these
foods. If not, be sure to wash cutting
boards carefully with soap between
uses.
 Cook foods to a safe
temperature using a food
thermometer. Uncooked or undercooked animal products can be unsafe.
 Keep hot foods hot (above 140 degrees) and cold foods cold (below 40
degrees) to prevent bacteria growth. Refrigerate foods within two hours of
purchase or preparation (one hour if the temperature is higher than 90 degrees).
 When in doubt, throw it out. If you are not sure that food has been
prepared, served, or stored properly, throw it out. If food has been left out for
more than two hours, throw it out. Eat cooked leftovers within four days.

LESSON 3 The test of the elements of

Physical Fitness Test (Pre-test)

SECOND DAY OF PROBATION

Similar to a previous lesson, look for a partner and take turns making
and recording results or scores on each test. Listen to the instructions and
understand each trial.

1. Shuttle Run (Agility) – Trial of agility action while running and

transferring a thickicing of the wood from and into the designated area.

A. To signal, run towards the other line and try and toss a piece of
wood or similar uses. Run back to the other line and place the piece
of wood or similar use on the back of the drawing.

B. Run back again, pick up the second piece of wood or similar uses, run
to the other hand, put wood or similar uses and hold on to the drawing.

2. Alternate Hand Wall Test (Coordination) – Eye coordination and a ball

bounce on the wall.
a. Stand up Straight-stride in front of a wall with a distance of 2 m./3 ft .
b. Hold a ball (tennis ball or baseball or similar uses). With the right
hand, throw it on the wall with a mark (3 ft. from the floor and 24 in. x
24 in. size) in advance. Catch it with the left hand. (Note: The left hand
may be used to heave and catch the right.)
c. Do it within 30 seconds and record it.

3. Ruler Drop Test (Reaction Time) – Speed of the ruler 's response that has
been dropped without a signal with the fingers
a. Sit next to a table and knock the elbow to
the end. Make sure the forearm is stretched.
The partner is standing in front of a ruler or a
meter stick.

Ruler Drop

B. Put your index finger and thumb (thumb) at the end of the ruler or
meter stick (Zero grade) without being handled while the partner is at
the other end of the ruler or meter stick .
C. Let the partner hold the ruler or meter stick without a signal. Catch
the ruler or meter stick with the fingers.

Get the size (centimeters/cm) above the finger.

Sit and Reach
D. Do it several times (about 5-10 times) and get the

4. Sit and Reach (Flexibility) – pinching stretching to the best of your muscle
on the patch (back of the thigh), legs, and back.

A. Sit on the floor with a measure between

the legs and leans on the wall. Stretch arms
to the front to lay the hands down.

B. Stretch the body out of the measurement

and down the gauge without shaking the body
to fall down and down..

C. Do it twice. Record average score

(centimeters/cm.)

Are you reached far away? Have you ever felt pain or pain on the
patch (back of the thigh), legs, or back? Why?
At this point, the strength of your thigh and legs will be in the same
place. Apply the procedures on the next page.

5. Vertical Jump (Power) – Force to be poured to jump high

a. Holding the Chalk (Chalk), stand by the wall with a measurement.
b. Hold up the arm of your hand pen and toe on the gauge.
c. Record size (centimeters/cm.) with a candid middle finger. This is your
standing reach height.
d. Leaps high to the best of your ability and make sure that chalk (chalk)
will be on the wall. Take the size and subtract it from the standing
reach height. Record the size obtained.
e. Make it twice and record the highest

Any hand can be used to mark the wall but better if your hand pen is
used because you are more accustomed to using it. There should be
enough height for the wall to use to put the measure.

Will your leap rise to the second Test? What did you do to further the
rise?

Keep in mind that the shuttle run should precede the test. The vertical jump
should be caught so that the thigh and legs have enough rest after the shuttle
run. The alternate hand wall test, ruler drop test, and sit and reach ay may vary
by order.

In addition to the tests you have made, there is another element of physical
fitness that should be given attention. This is the body composition. One of the
easiest ways to measure it by getting your weight and height. This method is
called Body Mass Index (BMI). The BMI says there is a recommended weight
based on a person's height.

Based on the BMI, if a person is too lightweight and has a height, it can be
underweight while a person with too heavy weight and there can be overweight
Caucus. If you have a moderate weight that is only right for your height, your
weight may be on the recommended. Remember that your height will change
further because you will continue to grow so that the results of your BMI may be
changed.

Since you do not have control over your height, you can control and change your
weight so it is recommended to be more active in daily life to reach a
recommended BMI weight based on your height and to become more physically
fit
