CLEANING CHEMICALS
SAFETY MEASURES IN DOING HOUSEHOLD

Housekeeping was the topic of this week`s chapter assignment. The


chapter discussed about the cleaning materials, and safety measures in
doing household. The first topic that the reporter discuss was all about the
different kinds/ types of cleaning chemicals. She discussed about the
different degreasers, that according to her report it is one of the solvent
cleaners that cleans or that removes the grease just like in the surfaces
such as oven tops, counters and grill backsplashes. And according to her
the purpose of cleaning agents includes health, beauty, removing offensive
odor, and avoiding the spread of dirt contaminants, which is correct.
After she gives an example of some cleaning materials, she discussed
about the six (6) household safety precautions to prevent domestic
accidents. Such as, guard against falling, be cautious in the kitchen,
prevent fire outbreaks, keep tools and cleaning materials out of reach, stay
safe when using electricity and electrical appliances and the last was you
must be careful with your medicines, and in this area I really understand
what are those safety precautions because she explain well, but on other
hand the way she delivered her report was kind of boring, and in the middle
of her discussion her line is somewhat cut, but I understand because I also
experienced that.
On the other hand despite of the internet connection she continued
reporting, and in this moment she discuss about the safety measures that
according to her report it is the set of actions either reducing the frequency
of occurrence of a hazard or mitigating it`s consequences in order to
achieve or maintain an acceptable level of a risk. And in this area she
discussed about the types of cleaning agents used in housekeeping, such
as the detergents, degreasers, abrasives, and acids. In this area she
delivered it well and understandable even though her internet connection is
not stable, But she still did her best to explain it to us properly
The second topic of her report was the safety measures in doing
household, according to her, A safe and healthy workplace not only
protects workers from injury and illnesses, it can also lower injury/illnesses
cost. In her next topic was the general precautions but in this time her
connections was cut and her reporting was interrupted.
Following guidelines keeps employees healthy and protects their well-
being. They can perform their jobs more effectively, and be confident that
they don't have to worry about being injured or suffering from an illness. So
we really need to follow those safety measures when doing a household
task
