READING INTERVENTIONS for S.Y. 2021-2022
Reading intervention provides learners with an opportunity in improving reading skills
at their instructional level and conducive in building and expanding their vocabulary. This
will also help learners to attain grade level proficiency.
During the corona virus pandemic, teachers adapt their teaching techniques that now
takes place online. They reach out to parents for support and finding ways to engage the
learners over screens including the reading interventions.
Learners in online and modular modality are given the google link in reading the
passages. Not all learners are accessible because some do not have their own gadget, but
teachers provide interventions despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic which
include the following:
Consistent communication with learners whose parents are both working,video call via
messenger during available time
For learners with no gadget, contact someone nearby
Conduct home visitation
Sending videos and powerpoint presentation
Interactive quizzes
Reading of DOLCH Basic Sight Words and short stories
Reading of CVC pattern
