1. Installing Crayon Box in Designer
and Photo for iPad
If you’re using Designer for iPad, before importing
Crayon Box brushes, you need to switch to Pixel
Persona.
After you select Import Brushes... you’ll be taken to
a browser window, select Dropbox from the left
sidebar and browser for the Frankentoon - Crayon
If you’re using Photo, just ignore that step. Go to Box folder.
the Brushes Panel and select Import Brushes...
Wait for the brushes to download and that’s it.
If you haven’t unzipped your downloaded files yet,
you can do it on a desktop computer and copy the
files to Dropbox. You can also use WinZip,
UnArchiver or any similar app, to decompress the
files from your iPad device.
Your brushes should now appear in the Categories
of the Brushes Panel.

From the browser window, look for the file

Crayon Box are raster-based brushes; if you’re using
Designer for desktop, before importing the brushes,

Once you’ve unzipped your files, go to the top menu,

Unfortunately, importing color palettes is not
currently possible on Designer and Photo for iPad.
This feature will be available in future updates.
Crayon Box includes 80 color swatches. To get them
imported in Designer and Photo for desktop, open
the Swatches Panel, select Import Palette... And,
choose any of the options from this sub-menu.
And... that’s all! Frankentoon - Crayon Box palette,
should now be loaded in your Swatches Panel.

When using this pack, we recommend selecting the

Tip 2: Shading Tip 3: Do NOT aim for precision
Normally, one shades doing a zigzag motion using
the wrist. Shading with Crayon Box brushes work a
little different. You can get more controlled and
subtle results, by shading with short strokes
following a vertical direction.

you’re striving for a Crayon Box has been designed for a more ‘childish’
cleaner and more illustration approach. You shouldn’t have to worry

These brushes look great on high-quality prints. Crayon Box, includes five scanned paper textures.

To import a paper texture, simply go to the top
menu, File and select Place..., Then find the folder
named 02-Papers from your downloaded Crayon Box
folder. Adjust the size of the texture to match your
document, put it on the background layer and lock it
down.
