Abstract
Stephanie’s Day Care Centre will be a service- oriented firm. That is, it will
be production at the tertiary level. It will be located at Catherine Mount,
Montego Bay. The centre will provide reading centre for students to read,
music centre for students to play musical instruments, environment centre
for students to know about their environment. Both skilled and unskilled
persons will be employed. Skilled workers such as a nurse will take care of
sick children. There will be a chef who will prepare meals for the kids. The
unskilled workers will comprise the ancillary staff whose responsibility is to
carry out duties of keeping the surroundings clean. The starting capital of
one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) will be obtained from personal
savings, a gift of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) from family members
in the United Kingdom (UK) and a loan of fifty thousand dollars
($50,000.00) from the RBTT Bank. The loan will be secured by fridge and
washing machine valuing seventy thousand dollars ($70,000.00) and forty
five thousand dollars ($45,000.00) respectively. These will be used as
collaterals. The entrepreneur has many responsibilities such as to listen to
the suggestions of parents and make improvements where necessary. The
entrepreneurs will also plan and co-ordinate the activities of the centre and
to materialize all the factors of production to ensure that all clients are
provided with effective and efficient service. The centre will be very
spacious and kept in a hygienic condition. Much technological equipment
such as computers, radios etc, will be used in its daily functions. The centre
will be registered with the Early Childhood Commission and Ministry of
Health.
