Heterogeneous Class

1. A heterogeneous class contains students with varying abilities and English knowledge. Differentiated instruction involves teaching the same material to all students using different strategies tailored to each student's needs. This may require delivering lessons at different difficulty levels. 2. To teach a heterogeneous class effectively, teachers should use varied activities to engage different learning styles, make lessons interesting for all ability levels, provide personalized activities, and design clear tasks with optional extensions. 3. Differentiated instruction delivers the same content through varied methods based on student abilities. Teachers carefully observe students to design lessons matching their styles and levels, using strategies like task cards and grouping by learning style.

Heterogeneous class
 A heterogeneous class is one in which the members vary in abilities
and knowledge of English
Differentiated Instruction
 Differenetiated Instruction : teaching the same material to all students using
a variety of instructional strategies, or it may require the teacher to deliver lessons at
varying levels of difficulty based on the abilities of each student.
Teachers who practice differentiation in the classroom may:
. Design lessons based on students' learning styles.
. Group students by shared interests, topics, or abilities for assignments.
. Assess students' learning using formative assessment.
. Manage the classroom to create a safe and supportive environment.
. Continually assess and adjust lesson content to meet students' needs.
.
2. A heterogeneous class is one in which the members vary in abilities
and knowledge of English. How to teach heterogeneous class?
a. Make various activity. To vary activities, so the students have different learning
styles and levels are addressed.
b. Make them interesting. To make them interesting, so that more advanced
students won't be bored by lower-level activities
c. Encourage and motivate them to learn.
d. Give personalize activiyies. To ‘personalize’ activities to allow rooms for self-
expression of different individual learners
e. Providing for learning at different levels. To individualize choice, in order to
allow flexibility at level and to 'open-end' activities to create opportunities to
respond at different levels
f. Design clear tasks. To design tasks with a clear, easily achieved success level
plus further optional extensions for faster workers.

3. Differentially instruction : teaching the same material to all students using a variety
of instructional strategies, or it may require the teacher to deliver lessons at varying
levels of difficulty based on the abilities of each student. The teacher teaches
students and observes students carefully and reflect on activities completed in class
and assignments set in order to design experiences that match the learning styles of
the class and as well as the differing levels of ability and understanding.
Eaxample:
 Task cards
Task cards allow you to give students a range of content. Answering task cards can
also be a small-group activity, adding variety to classes that normally focus on solo
or large-group learning.
 Grouping
Grouping students by their learning styles is another way to differentiate instruction
within the classroom. Students who are auditory learners will work better together
because they probably have similar styles of communication.
