The Hourglass Body Type
What is it?
The Hourglass Shape is when the
hips are proportionally the same
size as the bust and the waist is
the smallest proportion.
This shape is referred to as the
“perfect shape” because the top
is balanced with the bottom.
What do we do?
1. With every body type we must: Emphasize the waist!
2. We do not want to hide the
shape of the hourglass body type-
in fact, we must emphasize the
true shape of this body type.
Strategy #1
WHY?
Body Emphasized: Body De-emphasized:
Body con dresses hug the body
and are best when it comes to
highlighting the curves and
silhouette of the body- exactly
what is needed for the hourglass
body shape.
Strategy #2
Why?
Wrap dresses are great for highlighting
the waist.
The hourglass shape has a well-defined
waist; we should emphasize it even
more to create an even bigger balance.
Strategy #3
Why?
High waisted skinny jeans
hug the hips and curves of
the body, therefore
emphasizing it and showing
off the true form of the
hourglass.
