Equipment and Tools in Kitchen (inside our house)
1. Tong
- Tongs are a type of tool used to grip and lift objects instead of
holding them directly with hands.
2. Spatula
- A spatula is a broad, flat, flexible blade used to mix, spread and
lift material including foods.
3. Measuring Cup
- A measuring cup or measuring jug is a kitchen utensil used primarily to
measure the volume of liquid or bulk solid cooking ingredients such as
flour and sugar, especially for volumes from about 50 mL (2 fl oz)
upwards.
4. Measuring Spoon
- A measuring spoon is a spoon used to measure an amount of an
ingredient, either liquid or dry, when cooking. Measuring spoons may be
made of plastic, metal, and other materials.
5. Cutting Board
- A cutting board (or chopping board) is a durable board on which to
place material for cutting. The kitchen cutting board is commonly
used in preparing food; other types exist for cutting raw materials
such as leather or plastic.
6. Whisk
- A whisk is a cooking utensil which can be used to blend ingredients
smooth and to incorporate air into a mixture, in a process known
as whisking or whipping.
7. Grater
- A grater, also known as a shredder, is a kitchen utensil used to
grate foods into fine pieces. The modern grater was invented by
François Boullier in the 1540s, originally to grate cheese.
8. Blender
- A blender (sometimes called a liquidiser in British English) is a
kitchen and laboratory appliance used to mix, purée, or emulsify
food and other substances.
9. Casserole
- a covered dish of earthenware, glass, etc, in which food is cooked
and served Also called: casserole dish.
10. Ladle
- A ladle is a large, round, deep spoon with a long handle, used for
serving soup, stew, or sauce.
11. Funnel
- A kitchen utensil that is used to pour liquids and small-grained
ingredients from one source into another. Funnels have large open
tops that slope down and decrease in size forming a small
diameter outlet allowing placement into smaller areas. The outlet
may have a filter plate that strains some of the larger
components not desired in the ingredients of a sauce or ground
materials that are being transferred.
12. Strainer
- a kitchen utensil with a lot of holes in it for separating liquid from
solid.
13. Refrigerator
- A piece of kitchen equipment that uses electricity to preserve
food at a cold temperature.
14. Frying pan
- A shallow pan with a long handle, used for cooking food in hot fat
or oil.
15. Steamer
- A steamer is a kitchen appliance used to cook or prepare various
foods with steam heat by means of holding the food in a closed
vessel reducing steam escape.
