4.7 Basic Printer Maintenance
4.7.1 Cleaning the print head and sensor
Cleaning the print head is the most important and fundamental maintenance and should be done
whenever the label paper roll is changed.
1. Use a cotton or soft, lint-free cloth dipped in alcohol to wipe the heating line on the
printing head in the "unidirectional" mode.
2. Be sure that the carbon is cleaned off, and then wipe another two times for confirmation.
Cleaning the sensor ensures that the device is able to keep the correct spacing between labels.
If no cleaning is done for a long time, dust from the air will deposit on the sensor, causing the
light source to malfunction. The sensor should be cleaned once a month.
1. Use an air pressure bottle to remove dust.
2. The amount of spray and wiping will be determined by the operating environment of the
device.

Clean along the path installed with paper and carbon ribbon so that paper and ribbon can more
smoothly operate.
Examine the various rotating nodes or rollers and clean the deposit on the surface to lubricate
the various parts with oil. This maintenance should be performed once every three months.
4.8 Troubleshooting
When printing labels, the printed portion deviates in one direction.
Reload the label paper. Be sure that it is against the baffle, flush on the left, and adjust the
sliding slot of the paper width at the bottom of the print head's module.
One or more blank labels prints.
Calibrate and once again detect the size of the label. If the problem remains:
• The size of the label is not in compliance with the label size specification.
• The label transparence is abnormal. Please use the printer's special-purpose label
paper.
No display of barcode.
Probably the barcode format is not accepted; please select the correct barcode.
It's possible the barcode was not scanned. Generally, the LED on the barcode reader will light
when it scans a barcode and you will hear a BEBE sound.
The barcode reader only keeps one barcode in memory. A new barcode will automatically
overwrite the previous one. This is to ensure the accuracy of barcode copying.
No display of some barcodes.
At present the maximum acceptable length of barcode is 24 digits. Longer codes cannot be
displayed.

5 Counter Maintenance
1. Appropriate cleanliness of the counting gear is required for proper operation.
2. Extended use of the counter will result in the loosening of the lock between the reeling
shaft and the motor shaft. If this occurs, use a hexagonal spanner to retighten it.
3. Every three months, use an M3 hexagonal spanner to remove the reeling shaft from the
motor shaft. Clean before reassembling.
4. If there is any distortion in the spring, please contact Manncorp to get a spare spring to
replace the original.

7 Pocket Check User's Guide
7.1 Overview
On the 2000PC and 2000PC PRO models, the Pocket Check feature can automatically detect
empty tape pockets. It will stop the motor and prompt the operator if an empty pocket is found. It
does this using a fiber optic sensor that detects the difference in the quantity of light input.
Therefore:
• For black emboss carrier tape without a hole in the center of the pocket (Figure 3-1, P1),
the Pocket Check function cannot work.
• For transparent emboss carrier tape, because of the high similarity of between the
transparent light quality when there is no component in the pocket and the light quality of
the area between component pockets (Figure 3-1 Z), is it easy for the light to be
misjudged.
• For black emboss tape with a hole in the center of the pocket or paper tape (Figure 3-1,
D1), the function can be used.

7.2 Four Parts of Pocket Check
7.2.1 Communication Board
The board is installed in the counter base of the 2000PC and 2000PC PRO and requires no
adjustment or setting.
7.2.2 Optical Fiber
KEYENCE's correlation optical fiber FU-77 and can be replaced with correlation optical fiber of
the same category, diameter and flexibility.
7.2.3 Alignment Structure for the Optical Fiber
Before enabling the Pocket Check function, the alignment structure of the optical fiber must be
loosened first to align the emission end of the fiber to the central hole in the pocket (Figure 3-1,
D1) and then tightened again.

Jog switch 2 leftward to increase the reference value and rightward to decrease the reference
value.
Push switch 3 to confirm the setting of the reference value.
7.2.4.3 Reference Value
The reference value refers to the amount of light entering with a component in the pocket. When
the amount of light entering is greater than the reference value, the amplifier determines that
there is no component in the pocket.
7.2.5 Advanced Operation of the Amplifier
The key locking will be cancelled if switch 3 and MODE 1 button are pressed simultaneously and
held for three seconds. After cancelling key locking, the settings of the amplifier becomes much
more complicated. Please refer to the following descriptions if you accidentally or curiously enter
the settings.
After being powered up, the amplifier will carry out a communication self-check. The general
status is [Mode indicator/RUN (green) lit up, digits display the entering light quantity].
Press MODE 1 button to shift modes between RUN – TEACH – ADJ – L/D – TIMER – PRO in
which the corresponding LED indicator will be lit up as follows:
