GROUP ASSIGNMENT 1: CASE STUDY
The objective of this assignment is to allow the students to integrate prior theoretical
knowledge and current industrial practices through the creation of practical solutions
related to responsible marketing issues. This assignment also allows the student to
explore the company’s efforts in executing its social marketing program/campaign.
All group members need to adhere to the standard group work ethics, where each
group member is expected to give equal attention and cooperation in completing the
group assignment. Any group member that did not adhere to the rule above will be
faced with a marks reduction as deemed fit by all members of the group and the
lecturer.
Instructions:
1. This is group work. The lecturer will decide the number of students per group.
2. The students are required to find an organization that practices and/or conducts
social marketing campaigns/programs/events from any chosen industry, which
attempts to solve/relates to the social marketing issue selected in Individual
Assignment 1. Information about the campaign/program/event can be
extracted from any online and offline valid resources, the company’s website
and/or journals, and articles. Doing desktop research on these companies will
be sufficient, however, students are allowed to contact the companies
informally if it permits.
3. Referring to the 10-step process of social marketing (Chapter 2 to Chapter 10),
the students are required to relate and explain how the company uses the
process to execute their social marketing campaign/program/event.
4. Highlight real company examples, pieces of evidence, and factual inputs to
explain each process. Please avoid ‘generalization’ and ‘on the surface’
statements. Be specific when attempting to explain the evidence.
5. The findings will then be presented in an infographic report. The students are
allowed to choose the layout and format of their infographic report. Please
refer to the Rubrics for evaluation criteria.
6. The page limit for this assignment is 10 pages, which excludes the front page,
table of content, acknowledgment, list of figures, and conclusion and
references. Do make sure that the content is justified and complete.
7. All submissions will be in UFUTURE.
