Write Up Transportation Week

The pre-primary section of DPS Vapi held a mobility week to teach students about different modes of transportation. Students learned about vehicles they see everyday like cars, buses, trucks, and ambulances. They participated in hands-on activities like sorting pictures of vehicles by type, crafting mini airplanes, and playing transportation-themed puzzles and games. The pre-nursery children also did an experiment to learn how sound travels through water. They enjoyed a role play where they acted as firefighters responding to an emergency. The older prep students classified vehicles by mode of transport and learned about the ambulance service at their school. The mobility week provided an engaging experiential learning experience about transportation for the students.

Mobility week @preprimary section DPS VAPI

‘Connecting you to me; them to us; there to here and here to there,
transportation eases travel and mobility’
Delving into a transportation and mobility topic in preschool is a natural place to go!
Children already have so many life experiences playing with mobile toys and riding in cars,
on buses, and maybe even trains or airplanes. They see construction trucks moving around,
helicopters hovering, and ambulances zooming by. The students love talking about their
favourite vehicles and experiences of travel. The pre-primary section planned awesome,
creative hands-on activities to familiarize students about various modes of transport.

The tiny tots of Pre-nursery had thrilling week learning transport and mobility. The teachers
with creative aids introduced the topic of the week. The children enthusiastically were
involved in games like pick the vehicle and place on the right mode charted, sort the pictures
and paste it in the correct sequence, picture talk, blow and direct your boats. The students
crafted their personal mini air-craft using pegs and popsicles. The children were acquainted
about, ‘Sound can travel through the medium of water’, through an experimental
demonstration. The highlight of the week was the role play where the children enacted the
scene of handling fir emergencies and the little fire fighters got an insight into handling
emergency situations.

The little enthusiasts had fun watching interesting visuals based on the theme, transport and
its types. They played puzzles and answered the fun riddles. The children used their body and
display a train configuration.

The inquisitive little ones of Prep were familiarised with the utility of ambulance, a service
available in the school. The children showed great involvement while doing the activity of
classification of vehicle based on their modes.

The exposure through the week captivated children with the essence of experiential learning
experience.
