BTH 745 - User Stories
Title: Video Codec / Format Priority: High Estimate: Sprint 1
As a user, I would like to convert video files between different formats, and in doing so
re-encode them using different codecs.
It must have a choose/browse button to select a video
It must have a save button to convert the video
It must have a progress bar to display the progress of the video conversion

Output Quality: Bit Rate
User Story:
As a more Advanced User I would want the Software before conversion to allow me to set the
Bitrate of the Converted video. So that I can get the precise video quality I desire.
Acceptance Criteria:
It must have a Bitrate selection Button in the Output Quality setting
If Bitrate is selected there must be a Text box below, where the users can enter their desired
Numeric Bitrate Value.
The Textbox must also show Unit of Measure for Bit rate for better clarity [kb/s]
Title: Quality/ resolution Priority: Medium Estimate: Sprint 3
User Story:
As a Casual User I would want the Software before conversion to allow me to Modify the
Resolution of the Converted Outputted video. So that I am able to Upscale or Downscale my
videos or change their aspect ratios.
Acceptance Criteria:
It must have a Resolution selection Button in the Output Quality setting.
If Resolution is selected, There must be a Text box below, where the users can enter their
desired File size Valued
The Textbox must also show Unit of Measure for the Maximum File Size for better clarity [Mb]
Title: Maximum file size Priority: Medium Estimate: Sprint 4
User Story:
As a User, I would want the Software before conversion to set the maximum file size (in mb)
for my converted outputted video. So that the video file is able to meet its size requirement for
its appropriate storage and use.
It must have a Maximum File size selection Button in the Output Quality setting.
If Maximum File size is selected, There must be a Dropdown Selection bar, with many
resolution options listed Where the user can select their desired resolutions
Title: Crop Priority: Low Estimate: Sprint 5
As a user, I would want to crop the frame size of my video so that I can remove the
unnecessary signature or logos at the corners of a video.
It must have a choose/browse button to select a video
It must have a crop tool button and the button must navigate to the crop window
The crop tool must have the player settings and a crop button to finally crop the video after
adjusting player settings
It must have a save button to convert the video
Title: start/end time, trim Priority: Medium Estimate: Sprint 6
As a user, I would want to trim the video from the end or from the start of the video so that I
can remove the unwanted part of the video either at the beginning of the video or at the end.
It must have a choose/browse button to select a video
It must have the start/end time adjustments time slots
One for start time
and a Second for end time
It must have a save button to convert the video

As a frequent user, I would want to save my desired settings that I use a lot so that I don't
have to adjust them every time I use the app
It must have a save settings button
It must have a drop-down menu to choose from saved settings

As a user, I would want to play around with colors/brightness of video and want to adjust them
differently so that I can get the desired color settings.
