If you learn the words and phrases in it, you will really improve your English. With these words and phrases, you will be able to speak, write and understand English in many different situations. You will also have a better chance of succeeding in your English exams. How the book works Words you need... Each unit has two pages, and will teach you around 20 words or phrases related to the topic. A group of single words is explained in the ‘Words you need’ box, either with a definition or with a picture. ‘These words are followed by exercises to help you learn the meaning and use of these words. British and US English British and American English are very similar, with just a few differences in spelling and vocabulary. ‘We have used British English spelling but point out any important differences in the UK/US boxes. Review sections The unit topics ‘There are 50 units in the book. Each one covers a different topic. Some are subjects, for example ‘Sport’ or ‘Clothes’.
