Lewis’s Holiday
I travelled with my family to St Ives in Cornwall for a weekend in the summer. We had an amazing
time and we saw many awesome sights.
We arrived in St Ives on a Friday afternoon. It was a long journey from London – almost five and a
half hours. We were all tired when we got there, but we felt much better when we saw our room
– it was really cool. From the window, you could see the sea and people surfing. I really liked that.
The bathroom was huge, too. The only thing I didn’t like was that my bed was very hard – my bed
at home is a lot more comfortable!
On the first night, we ate at a restaurant near the hotel. My meal was excellent. I don’t eat fish
very often but I wanted to try it because we were near the sea. It was delicious. The only problem
was that the restaurant was really busy and there weren’t enough waiters.
The next day, my mum wanted to visit an art gallery. I wanted to get an ice cream, but we had to
go to the art gallery first. It was boring! In the afternoon, we planned to go on a boat trip but it
was raining so we went back to the hotel.
Sunday was the best part of the trip because I had a surfing lesson. Surfing is quite difficult but
not as bad as it looks. By the end of the lesson, I could stand on the board for a short time. I hope
I can try it again one day! Have you tried surfing?
