1). STRUCTURE - OVERHEAD

1 Check for the absence of traces of cracks in welded joints.

2 Inspect the tracks.

3 Observe whether there are areas with high corrosion level.

4 Check for the proper tightening of screws and nuts.

2). ENDS OF CARRIAGES AND CARTS

1 Check for the operation of brakes and motors.

2 Revise the condition of the overhead wheels (wear, flakes).

3 Check for the simultaneous braking of driving units.

Check for the tightening of screws and nuts of clamps in the different elements

(motors, brakes, reducers, stops, swivel joints).
Grease bearings of wheels and, in an applicable case, couplings, if provided with
5 lubricator.
Grease ring gear and pinion of wheels, if any (Grease EP-2).

6 Check the reducer level and add if necessary (VG220).

NOTE: Oil changeovers will be performed: 1st after 500 hours of operation, 2nd every 2000 hours of operation

3). HOOK

1 Observe the rotation of pulleys.

2 Observe the rotation of the hook ( thrust bearings).

3 Inspect the grooves of pulleys.

4 Check the good condition of the cargo hook.

5 Check the safety device. Put it on if there is none.

4). CRAB

2 Check for the operation of brake-motors and reducers of the crab.

Observe the condition of the crab wheels (wear, flakes).

Grease the wheels and pinion of wheels, if any (Grease EP-2).

Inspect the rope (The rope with 10 wires broken in a length of 10 times the

diameter will be rejected).

5 Replacement of hoisting ropes (if faults are observed). See specific section.

6 Check for oil leaks.

7 Inspect the wear of brake shoes.

8 Greasing of the hoisting rope (Grease EP-2).

Greasing of barrel couplings, crowned teeth and bearings of wheels, drum


9 supports (if provided with lubricator).
(Couplings EP00, wheels and support EP-2).

Check for the levels of hoisting and crab traversing reducers, adding oil if

necessary (VG220-VG320).

5). ELECTRICALS

Check for the condition, in general, of all the instruments in the switchgear
1
cabinets.

2 Observe the condition of doors in the switchgear cabinets.

3 Observe whether all of the junction boxes are covered or not.

4 Check the condition of connections.

5 Check the condition of brushes and collector in motors (if any).

6 Check the condition of switchgear.

7 Check for limit switches in hoisting, crab traversing and overhead travelling.

8 Revise the condition of cable-holder trolleys and movable festoon.

9 Check for the condition of the push button-station or control site.

10 Test to find whether the load limiter works properly with 20% overload or not.

6).TAPPING

A).LINE OF COLLECTOR SHOES

Check for the tightening of screws and nuts of clamps in the different elements of

the crab.

2 Check for the operation of brake-motors and reducers of the crab.

B). WINDER

1 Check the clamping of the rope to the loop and winder.

2 Check for the position of the rope on the floor.

3 Check for the operation of the winding and paying-off lyre- shaped part.

4 Check for the condition of the rope.

NOTE: Loads to carry out the revision and means to move them will be responsibility of the owner of the crane.
