BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION:-
It is native to the Indian subcontienent & grows throughout Southest
Asia. It is a small, annual or short-lived perennial shrub.It grows upto 1 meter (3.3
feet)in height.The stems are hairy and along the stem. The fragrant leaves are
green or purple depending on the variety. The small purple or white flower have
green or purple sepals.

MEDICINAL USES :-
❖ The plant leaf is used for the treatment of cough, asthma, diarrhea, fever,
dysentery, arthrities , eye disease,indigestion gastric aliments, Insect
bite,bp malaria etc.

OTHER USES :-
❖ It is an attractive natural source of anti-skin ageing ingredient in cosmetic
industry.
❖ It is used an oral product like toothpaste due to its teeth & gum
strengthening properties.
❖ Hindus warships tulsi as a goddess & keep in their house as a symbol of
positivity
