Features of Colonial Constitutions Week 5

The colonial constitutions of Nigeria had several general features: they were created in Britain, discriminated against Nigerian members of government, concentrated power with the colonial governor, did not allow Nigeria to be recognized as a state, and could only be amended by Britain. They also introduced a mixed system of indirect rule through traditional rulers and a parliamentary system led by a prime minister or premier.
