"Importance of Health - Related Entrepreneurial Activities in the Community Setting"

Health- related Entrepreneurial activities can strengthen the economy of the individuals

, families and communities as well it can promote the health status of the people in the

community. According to ILO ( International labour organisation ) around 88 million young

adults are remaining unemployed in the world. Health professionals and non Health

professionals can initiate a Health- related entrepreneurship in a community settings that may

promote the health status of the local people as well it may provide job opportunities for many

young people.

An Entrepreneur is a person, who sees the need and then brings together the capital,

materials and manpower required to that need. They create value and search for changes.

Entrepreneurs , who initiate a Health- related entrepreneurship , act as a change agent of

population health and he offers sustained improvement in the health of population during a

critical situation or in the face of a need. Examples of Health related Entrepreneurship are large

scale factories or companies, life insurance companies, Health products production unit , such

as sanitizers, soap , disinfectants etc, fitness centers , Ayurvedic and massage centers, behaviour

change institutes and Public health consultancy agency etc.

Success of a Health - related Entrepreneurial activities are measured by change in social

environment, improved health outcomes and sustainable programming. The market is more

receptive to Health related Entrepreneurship as the people becoming more health conscious,

especially during this Pandemic season. A small scale Entrepreneurship like manufacturing of

sanitizers, soap , disinfectants has a high market value now a days , especially in a community
setting. Create awareness among community people regarding the need of maintaining proper

hand hygiene always and the keep the environment clean. Promoting the use of sanitizers may

revive the manufacturing company and more people may buy the products. The increased use

of hand sanitizers may improve the health status of the people in the community by preventing

the infections from hand contamination.

Food products , that are healthy may promote the nutritional status of the population. A

production unit of Hygienic as well nutritious food products such as germinated grams ( green

and red grams) , freshly packed veggies that are ready to eat , fresh fruit or veg salad etc can be

sold in the hospital or college canteens or local food markets , can promote healthy eating

pattern of local people. Creating awareness on ' benefits of fresh food over processed food '

should be created in people s a part of marketing of this ' Health related Entrepreneurship ' .

'Fresh food ' production is just an example of Health related Entrepreneurship. All efforts and

area in Health related Entrepreneurship can promote the health status of the people in the

community , strengthen the economy of individuals and groups involved in the Entrepreneurship
