Grade 10 Math Lesson Plan on Deciles

1. The document is a semi-detailed lesson plan for a 10th grade math class discussing measures of position, specifically deciles of ungrouped data. 2. The lesson objectives are for students to illustrate deciles as a measure of position, compute deciles of ungrouped data, and interpret deciles of ungrouped data. 3. The learning resources listed are the Mathematics 10 Learners Material and Teachers Guide, and the procedures follow a 5E instructional model including engaging activities, motivation, presentation, discussion, and evaluation.

4 PICS 1 WORD

The teacher will divide the class into 4 groups.

Each member should guess the word by the help of pictures
that will be given.
The first group to guess the word will gain a point.
The group with the highest points accumulated will be
declared as the winner.

2. Second find its D2 position, use the formula and round off
to the nearest integer.
Position ofDk=k/10(n+1)th
Wherein
k = unit partition
n= number of cases
Position of D4 = 4/10(n + 1)th
= 4/10(10 + 1)th
=4/10(11)th
= 4.4th
The computed value is with decimal which is 4.4so we need
to do linear interpolation.

3.Interpolating/ locating the exact position of the score.

Step 1: subtract the 4th data from the 5th data
460 — 440 = 20
Step 2: multiply the result by the decimal part obtained in the
second step (position of 2nd decile)
.4(20) = 8

Page 3 of 5
Step 3: add the result in step 2 by the 3rd or smaller
number/value
440+8 = 448
Value of 4th decile = 448
Interpreting the result
AlingMarie should be happy with her sale because 60% of her
sale is above the average sale
