Lesson Plan Document 2

This lesson plan is for a 2nd grade reading comprehension lesson. The lesson focuses on having students create mental images from a text to deepen their understanding. Students will listen to the teacher read a book called "Nigel and the Moon" without pictures and create their own mental images. Afterwards, students will discuss the emotions the character felt and create an illustrated timeline of events from the story. To assess learning, students will write what theme they think the story conveyed on an exit ticket along with a matching picture. The goal is for students to be able to create mental images from what they read to improve comprehension skills.
