The system's goal is to make it easier for teachers and students to get their meals without
actually visiting the school's canteens. The advancement of wireless technology and
mobile devices in this era is having a significant impact on our lives. Early attempts have
been made to combine and apply both of these technologies to the advancement of the
hospitality industry. This paper describes a simple and subtle method of communicating
in order to implement a wireless food ordering system. This system provides wireless
data access to servers and food ordering functions via desktop computers and mobile
devices such as tablets via a wirelessly integrated local area network. This paper aims at
improving the quality of services and business of the hospitality industry by incorporating
technology. A detailed study on the integration and utilization of technology in
hospitality industries showcased that various applications based on wireless technologies
are already in use enabling partial automation of the food ordering process.

Chapter I

INTRODUCTION

An online ordering system is a simple automated system that enables your restaurant to process
internet-based food orders from online customers through a branded website. Online food
ordering is the process of ordering food, for delivery or pickup, from a website or other
applications. The product can be either ready-to-eat food or a virtual restaurant or food that has
not been specially prepared for direct consumption. Online food delivery through third-party
company have emerged as a global industry, leading to a delivery revolution. From 2018 to
2021.

In restaurant-controlled online food ordering, the restaurants create their own website. If they
choose to create their own website, they make sure to obtain software that manages the orders
efficiently, meaning it has the capability to manage different orders at once. A customer can
choose to have the food delivered or for pick-up/take-away. The process consists of a customer
choosing the restaurant of their choice, scanning the menu items, choosing an item, and finally
choosing for pick-up or delivery. Payment is then administered by paying with a credit card or
debit card through the website or in cash at the restaurant when going to pick up. The website
informs the customer of the food quality, duration of food preparation, and when the food is
ready for pick-up or the amount of time it will take for delivery.

Background of the problem

In most schools, students are having a hard time purchasing their needs because of time and
distance. Canteens and stores are always crowded due to students that are most likely to eat
inside. Students sometimes aren't satisfied due to the time and distance to transfer their
classroom to the canteen. And most workers that work inside the canteen and stores find it
difficult to manage the place. That is why some workers and students demand to have a system
that receives orders,

delivers, faster and efficiently.

Page |8
General Problem

How to create a food ordering system in College canteen.

According to some schools, purchasing meals at the canteen is more likely to be crowded
and slow progression for orders, also. Students have to transport from classroom to canteen
which is time consuming.

The system is for those that are inside the school. First, they can choose whatever they want to

order inside the system. After that, They'll proceed with the type of payment they want which
can

either be G-Cash or Cash (Pickup).

Once they've chosen which type of payment method. The system will automatically receive it
and

prepare the order. When it's done, those that are inside the school can have it delivered or picked

up at the canteen or store.

Specific Problem

 How to create a system that will help the canteen management for taking in orders.

Having manually computing and recording orders is confusing for both the customer and the
cashier. Resulting in slower transaction.

 How to create a system that eliminates long queues

Today one of the frequent complain from the customer is the long queues.

 How to create a system that will record the payments of the customers.

Page |9
There are instances where hardcopies of record is lost and there’s a customer complain then it
becomes complicated when their transaction is not recorded.

 How to create a system that has two modes of payments (G-cash and Pick-up)

Due to payment processes nowadays we create and implement a system that will accept payment
through online and on site. Paying through online is efficient and accessible for everyone.

 How to create a system that will protect the money and data.

One of the causes of losing data and money in a person's account is the ease with which
information may now be obtained and stolen.

Objectives of the study

In this sub-chapter the proponents will discuss the goal of the proponent’s system

and the module that will be built inside the system.

General Objectives

To Create Food Ordering System In College Canteens. The proposed system aims to
provide a convenient way for the canteens to manage, to have better food progress for the
students and those who work inside the school. Those that have access to the system can
purchase thru online for better, faster, and efficient.

Specific Objectives

 . To create a system that will help the canteen management for taking in orders.

In this system, customers' orders can be taken and listed by canteen management.

 To create a system that eliminates long queues

P a g e | 10
Creating a system so that the students don't have to wait in long queues for placing their orders.
Aiming to lessen time consumption of students and for faster ordering process.

 To create a system that will record the payments of the customers.

In this system, you simply input the item's ID and the quality of the items you want to buy to
quickly record your order.

 To create a system that has two modes of payments (G-cash and Pick-up)

In this system, there are two modes of payment you can pay through G-cash and for pick up
orders and you can pay in cash.

 To create a system that will protect the money and data.

The system will unable to proceed into cash button and print receipt until all information needed
is filled. The information gathered at payment process direct to file inside the package of the
system.

Scope and limitation of the study

Security Module

Our system includes a Security Module, which is a physical device that connects to our PC. This

will carry out cryptographic operations to ensure the security of our key management. It will

accomplish this goal by generating, backing up, and storing all of their keys on these secure,

tamper-resistant devices. As a result, the keys will never leave the cryptographic environment,

protecting them from data thieves.

File Maintenance Module

Our system includes a File Maintenance Module. This type of protocol is included in our
modules

P a g e | 11
for systems that use a consistent method for naming files and folders for our customers. We
divide

a main folder into subfolders for customers such as school staff, teachers, and students, and we
use

shortened names to identify what or who the folders pertain to.

Account Module

Our system also includes an account module, which provides our customers with a personal

account through which they can order food from canteens, and the target person of the accounts

has a detail that provides the occupation on the school, such as students, teachers, employees,
and

so on

Reports Module

We have a reports module in our system. This report module examines customer values and

prospects' potential, laying the groundwork for realistic turnover forecasts. And records data that

can be analyzed all the way down to the field level. Evaluations can also include linked data

records, such as expenses associated in canteen.

Payment Module

Our system also includes a payment module, which facilitates payments by transferring

information between payment portals (such as a website, mobile phone).

P a g e | 12
Monitoring Module

This system will track the total number of customers who buy from the canteen each day. It will

keep track of the amount of days you purchased in the canteen. A student's status can be marked

as bought and unpaid.

Queuing Module

Module for queuing to assist Customers who dislike waiting in long lines with no idea when they

will be served as a result, they are more likely to become repeat customers in businesses that

provide quick but high-quality services. And waiting for an extended period of time before being

serviced can result in protests, which affects your customer satisfaction rates. What happens
when

you're so busy that you can't reduce service times? You can manage customer expectations by

providing a realistic estimate of the expected waiting time using the QLess digital queuing
system.

This reduces the perceived wait time, and when customers believe they won't have to wait long,

they become more patient.

Chapter II

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Related Literature

This chapter describes the characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of existing research that
are relevant to the proposed system.

Foreign Literature

S Rathore and M Chaudhary.(2018).The consumer perception regarding online food delivery

differs from person to person. The perception is also build on personal opinion. Mostly
young population is more attracted towards online food ordering services as compare to
elder people This is due to lack of awareness regarding technology (mobile apps). Also
consumers are keen towards those food delivery services which provide heavy discounts
and cashback offers. To identify actual behaviour of consumers’ large geographical area with
proper segmentation may help companies to target customers in more appropriate way.

V Kanteti(2018).The untapped market in food delivery service is home cooked food. This
is where the true opportunity lies. Online food delivery firms have truly transformed the

P a g e | 14
way restaurants are doing the business. Nevertheless packaging cost will always be crucial
part for low priced orders as online food serving is an option for daily consumed food.
Due to nuclear families in urban cities and fast moving life people do not have enough
time to cook food at home, hence this opportunity lies.

Local Literature

Labaco (2019) recommended that the wireless payment system would decrease these kinds of
risks as the system in the Philippines is still working with cash payment which exposes couriers
to the risks. Moreover, the wireless payment system will increase the accuracy of the delivery
which will lead to safety, productivity, and timeliness.

Matyunina (2020) suggested adding comprehensive driver performance metrics that can measure
the safety and performance of couriers. Such features will help couriers to analyze their
performances and improve their productivity. Just like a reward system for the customers, it
could be recommended to have a reward system for the partner delivery workers also when they
have reached a certain level of safety and productivity level throughout their service.
Improvement in safety with couriers would benefit the customers where they can experience the
timeliness of the service which would increase the perceived quality of the service, then increase
the revenue stream of the App firm.

Synthesis

Our study's goal is to improve and resolve the system in efficient way when it comes to
the college canteen, and the study we reviewed is a big help in making our system work
properly. Some of the systems we looked at couldn't do additional complicated features, so we

P a g e | 15
devised a different method to make our system faster and more efficient, such as ordering items
and paying through online and on site process

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

In this chapter. we have finally finished what we created, food ordering system for Gardner
College Diliman. we’ve received and analyzed a lot of answers and opinions from our survey
that the respondents gave and we simply apply this to improve our system for the school
canteens. by that, those who are inside the school can finally order foods without transporting to
the canteen, making it less time consuming and reduce the crowd inside the canteen.

The system is now complete and it is ready to be tested to see how it performs. Food Ordering
System should be used for a better ordering transaction.
