The project includes provisions for Light Vehicular Underpasses (LVUP), aimed to facilitate smooth cross traffic flow. However, the document specifies that there are no designated locations (-Nil-) for such light vehicular crossings at the moment . This indicates a future scope for including these crossings based on evolving traffic assessments.

Completion and payment for bridge substructures follow a stage-based approach where payments are made on completion of different stages of the work. Payment is made on a pro-rata basis upon completing at least 25% of the foundation and substructure work for each bridge, including up to the abutment/pier cap level of at least two foundations. Where load testing is required, the first payment is triggered by the completion that includes this testing . Furthermore, stage payment statements must reflect the estimated amounts for works executed, adjusted for scope changes and price variations, leading to a net claim after necessary deductions . Completion is certified through a series of tests managed by the Authority’s Engineer, who ensures that construction complies with standards and provisions of the agreement before issuing a Completion Certificate .

Hazardous locations in the project scope are addressed by providing safety barriers at identified risk spots. These include areas with high embankments, roadside obstacles, sharp curves, vehicular underpasses (VUP), bridge approaches, overpasses, and railway overbridges (ROB). The provision of these safety barriers is guided by the Manual and finalized in consultation with the Authority Engineer during project execution . Additionally, all intersections and grade separators are to be designed and constructed as per specified standards to ensure safety and functionality . Furthermore, regular safety audits are conducted to ensure conformity with established safety requirements .

Payment for wearing coats in the project is made upon completion of the wearing coat, including expansion joints, in all respects as specified. This payment is processed after submission by the contractor within 30 days of the bill submission and proportionate SoR rates adjustments if the contract price varies from the estimated project cost as per RFP .

The Authority's Engineer plays a critical role in reviewing and approving various submissions from the Contractor, such as Drawings and Quality Assurance Plans, ensuring they conform to project specifications and standards within specified timelines . They oversee quality control by requiring tests and inspections of construction works to be conducted, specifying the frequency and methods according to industry standards . Additionally, the Engineer handles approval processes for construction methodologies, manages traffic flows during construction, and inspects the site to identify defects and recommend remedial actions . They also conduct audits to ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements .

The manual specifies providing grade-separated structures according to paragraph 2.13 of the Manual. Span arrangements for these structures include: - Vehicular Underpass (VUP) at design chainage 1+410 and 16+420 with a span arrangement of 1x20.0 and 2x10.6 meters on the Kondamodu Bypass and the existing alignment, respectively. - Another VUP at design chainage 27+620 with a span arrangement of 2x20.0 and 2x10.6 meters on the Sattenpalli Bypass. - A Major Bridge Cum VUP at chainage 29+662 with a span of 1x30.0 and 2x10.6 meters. - A Viaduct (PSC) at an interchange at chainage 49+894 spans 1x15.0 + 1x30.0 with a width of 2x8.5 meters . They must follow specifications such as the Ministry’s Type Design of Intersections detailed in IRC: SP: 84-2019 .

The Authority's Engineer is required to recommend the suspension of the whole or part of the works if the continuation of the work threatens the safety of users and pedestrians . To revoke such suspensions, once the Contractor has carried out remedial measures, the Authority's Engineer must inspect the remedial measures and report to the Authority recommending whether the suspension may be revoked . This inspection must take place within three days of the Contractor's request for inspection following the completion of remedial measures, and a report should be made to the Authority forthwith .

The structural elements defined for rigid pavement in the Kondamodu to Perecherla road widening project include the construction of rigid pavement specifically at the toll plaza locations . The rest of the project utilizes flexible pavement for areas such as bus bays/truck lay-byes, road widening, realignment, strengthening, and service roads . Rigid pavements are also designed to adhere to specified standards and requirements for design traffic and minimum thickness, although these details pertain predominantly to flexible pavements over other sections .
