Conclusion:
The Criminology Internship Program in the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) provided
valuable insights and practical experience to the criminology interns from the University
of Mindanao. The program aimed to enhance their understanding of the Philippine
National Police (PNP) and its operations, as well as develop their skills in law
enforcement. Throughout their on-the-job training, the interns were assigned to different
police stations and exposed to various aspects of police work.

The DCPO demonstrated a strong commitment to serving the community by


implementing programs to address crime and illegal drug use, contributing to Davao
City's reputation as one of the safest cities in the world. The training sessions conducted
by the DCPO aimed to familiarize the interns with the daily responsibilities and roles of a
police officer. This hands-on experience allowed the interns to witness firsthand the
practical aspects of law enforcement and gain insights beyond the theoretical
knowledge acquired in their academic studies.

The observations made by the criminology interns highlighted several key points.
Firstly, the PNP stations had well-structured methods for fulfilling their responsibilities
and maintaining community safety and security. The main objectives of the police
officers were to monitor people, save time and effort, expedite crime-solving, and gather
strong evidence for court proceedings. Secondly, surveillance was identified as a crucial
