Assistant Chef (Sous Chef)

 Required to assist with the preparation of all foods for residents, staff and visitor food
services
 Complete audit and quality standard documentation
 Ensure all food are prepared according to standard recipe and production schedules.
 Assist with the preparation of all food, taking into account specific needs and special diet
requirements
 Assist in the planning of menu's, orders and rota organization
 Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the food preparation and service
areas at all times
 Deputize for the Chef Manager when needed

Job Specification:
 Qualified Chef
 21+ years of age
 Male or Female
 Ability to adhere to legislation
 Able to effectively manage resource
 Good literacy and numeracy
 Experience of working within and team, able to display good communication skills
 Desirable
 Experience within a similar environment
 Drive to provide excellent guest experience.
 Knowledge of kitchen equipment and utensils
 Work with integrity in all interactions
 Appropriate attitude and mindset for fast pace environment
Assistant Cook
 Assist the Cook in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. Their main duties include:
 Assisting the Sous Chef in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, cutting, chopping
and peeling food ingredients
 Cleaning and sanitizing the food preparation areas based on company and industry
hygiene codes and health and safety standards
 Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment
 Buying, weighing and storing ingredients and food supplies
 Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives,
mixers and ovens
 Managing inventory, unloading supplies and organizing the storeroom
 Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

 Experience in kitchen operations
 Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
 21 + years of age
 Male or Female
 In-depth understanding of food health and safety regulations
 Exceptional time management and organizational skills
 Excellent verbal communication skills
 Exceptional physical stamina and strength
 Ability to work as part of a team
 Thoroughness and attention to detail
 Exceptionally detail-oriented
