LIPOKEL®
SPECIFICATIONS
Description: Lipokel® are unique oil-soluble chelating agents,
especially designed to cope with the storage and utilization of fatty
substances such as natural oils, fragrances or cosmetic formulations
which suffer from quality deterioration due to the presence of heavy
metal ions.
INCI: Lauryl alcohol diphosphonic acid, Lauric acid
Product range :
Lipokel® 12G - in Propylene glycol
Lipokel® PG50 – in Pentylene glycol BENEFIT
Lipokel® MPD – in Methylpropanediol
Protection against
Appearance : Yellowish liquid decomposition

Shelf life : 12 months Inhibition of bad odours

Protection against decoloration

FORMULATION AND Longer fragrance persistance

RECOMMENDATIONS Excellent compatibility with

acrylic polymers
Recommended concentration is 0,2-0,5%. It can be
dosed directly in natural oils or fragrances, in order to
complex the metal ions naturally present in these raw
materials, giving a longer shelf life, with no change in
odour, colour, flavour or taste. It can also be used in
cosmetic formulations to avoid the degradation of metal
sensitive ingredients (such as flavonoids or enolates),
which are soluble only in the lipid-phase.

APPLICATIONS

Fats/oils
Creams/lotions
Sun care
Lipsticks
Fragrances
Active fatty acids

25 kg net cans
PERFORMANCE CHELATING CAPACITY
The chelating capacity of Fe3+ and Cu2+ ions has been demon-
strated by accelerated oxidation tests:

- Substrate: Soybean oil (Acidity nr = 1,3; Iodine nr = 131 )

- Chelating agent: Lipokel® 12
- Oxidative agent: air, flowrate 10 L/h
- Metal doping agent: Fe3+ and Cu2+ acetate
- Test temperature: 90°C
- Analytical method: UV-vis spectroscopy, absorption at 430 nm
of carbonyl groups

In the absence of Lipokel®
