2.5 RP Webservices
2.5.1 Webservices
A REST API has been implemented to allow secure HTTPS communications to allow the reading and
writing of values in the RP application. Prior to enabling Webservices, it is required that the controller
is loaded with the necessary keys and certificate to facilitate secure communication. This is achieved
using the SpaceLogic Certificate Configuration Tool
2.5.2 Certificate Configuration Tool
The Certificate Configuration Tool is a Windows-based application that allows the configuration of
keys and certificates in the controller. This process ensures secure communication to the
webservices and until the configuration is complete, the webservices feature cannot be enabled.
Before the Certificate Configuration Tool can access the controller, the IP address of the
configuration tool needs to be entered into the Settings object of the controller.
2.5.3 Secure Module
The necessary keys and certificates are encrypted by a secure module on the controller.
WARNING: When the secure module is used for the first time, it will take 10-15 seconds to initialize.
The secure module may be rendered non-operational and non-recoverable if this process is disturbed
or interrupted. DO NOT power-cycle, restart or in any other way interact with the controller during
this initialization period.

2.6 RP-V IP Controllers (Hardware launch 2022)
RP-V controllers are a VAV controller, similar to the MP-V but based on the RP-C controller
architecture. They share the features of previous RP-C controllers including BLE radio, Zigbee USB
dongle support and two serial bus ports, supporting Sensor Bus, CRS Room Bus, Modbus and MS/TP
Northbound*.
The RP-V room bus supports up to four connected RP controller expansion modules with the
following restrictions:
• Maximum of one DALI light module
• Maximum of one SMI blind module
• Maximum of two Multi-sensors or SpaceLogic Insight-Sensors
*For more information on MS/TP Northbound support , refer to section 2.13.
2.7 Zigbee Support
The SpaceLogic Zigbee Adapter enables Zigbee3.0 wireless connectivity for SpaceLogic RP-C
controllers as well as SpaceLogic AS-P and AS-B servers, extending its point count and bringing
flexibility in retrofit applications.
With EcoStruxure Building Operation 2022, the Zigbee Adapter will enable Zigbee 3.0 wireless
connectivity for the SpaceLogic RP-V controller. It can communicate over the Zigbee wireless
protocol with more wireless devices, including SpaceLogic Zigbee Expansion Modules (RP-C-EXT-ZB-
DALI Zigbee-to-DALI module and RP-C-EXT-ZB-0-10V Zigbee-to-0-10Vmodule) and PowerLogic Power
Tag Energy Sensors, and as a certified Zigbee device, will allow interoperability with third-party
Zigbee devices.
With an open Zigbee device support capability, support for new Schneider Electric and third-party
Zigbee devices can now be added to EcoStruxure Building Operation 2022 or later through a service
that is provided by the Digital Buildings Centre of Excellence. See the Zigbee Adapter Specification
Sheet for more information on the new features and the supported wireless devices for the
SpaceLogic RP controllers and/or SpaceLogic servers.

deleting the complete Zigbee network.
2.7.3 Forced Uprev of Zigbee
In most cases, dependent firmware’s delivered via the IP controller are upgraded automatically
where the available version is higher than the current version. In some cases, where components
within the firmware are updated, the broader Zigbee adapter firmware version may not be
incremented. In these limited cases the user may be required to use the manually trigger the upgrade
by selecting the Upgrade Zigbee firmware command from the Zigbee network context menu. If a
downgrade of firmware is required, this command will also be required to force the downgrade to
the Zigbee dongle. Note that it is recommend that downgrades of system are undertaken under the
guidance of product support.

2.7.4 Force Associate
Discovery and association of device on a Zigbee network may be performed using standard drag and
drop. However, in some cases, a single ADT may be used to create multiple models with a device
family, e.g. SE/VT8000 thermostats, even where the physical model may not match the ADT model.
In these cases, a forced association action may be used. This action is similar to the standard drag
and drop association but is carried out with the shift key depressed. Caution should be used when
force associating as it removes validation of suitability between logical and physical device.
2.7.5 New ADT format (Lib)
Previous Zigbee device ADTs have been deprecated and replaced by Custom Type Library versions,
prefixed “RP_Lib”, e.g. RP_Lib_ZB-[Link]. These ADTs should be imported as
Custom Types and instantiated from the Custom Type Library.
2.8 Increased Application Memory
2.8.1 Free Object System Memory (User Application Memory)
The memory available for creating applications has been increased to 4MB on MP-C, MP-V and IP-IO
controllers to allow the creation of larger applications and to allow for additional trendlog buffer
sizes.
2.8.2 Persistent Memory (FRAM) Limitations and Availability Metric
The increase in the user application memory has created the potential for additional consumption of
persistent memory that retains controller runtime data during restarts, and it is possible to exhaust
persistent memory before the full 4MB of application memory is fully consumed. To assist the user
in monitoring their memory use, both Free memory and Free persistent memory metrics are
available on the device object.

2.9 Compressed Firmware Support
2.9.1 Overview
Firmware downloads to the controller may be compressed to reduce the transmission time of the
firmware files. Due to the unzipping in the controller, the activation may take slightly longer when
this feature is enabled. The selection, “Compress for transmission” is selected by default and will
ensure that firmware is compressed for controllers that support the feature. If the selection is made
for unsupported controllers, the firmware will be downloaded uncompressed. The checkbox should
only be deselected for troubleshooting purposes and it is recommended that it remains checked at
all other times.

Thermal Image Sensor
The sensor is designed to detect and count people standing and sitting in an area inside a building.
The sensor periodically transmits :– The number of people.
The commissioning parameters for the people counting sensor are :
Camera mode – Normal and Degraded
Normal means that the background image has been refreshed.
Degraded indicates that the background image has not been refreshed either automatically or
through command.
Refresh Background Mode – It can be set to automatic or manual.
Refresh Background Time – The time at which the background image is refreshed in automatic mode.
Minimum no motion time – The amount of time no motion must be detected before the background
image is refreshed.
Refresh Background Image Command – Refreshes the background image , accounting to minimum
no motion time. Right click on Insight Sensor – Device->Advanced->Refresh Background Image
Like the Multisensor , the insight sensor has an option to create an iBeacon and Remote-control
functionality.
2.10.1 Mask
In EcoStruxure Building Operation, rezoning makes it easy to adapt your configuration to changes in
the building's floor plan when walls are added or removed. When physical spaces are dynamic, room
sizes change and the camera’s field of view needs to be adjusted accordingly.
In such situations, you use masks to configure which part of the thermal imaging area in the
SpaceLogic Insight-Sensor’s People Count sensor to include. For example, you may originally start
with a larger area and now need to reduce it to allow for people counting in a much smaller setting.
Before working with mask objects, there are several terms and concepts you may want to become
familiar with.

(that is, the inclusion and exclusion areas)
• Inclusion area: Specifies the portion of the camera's view to use when counting people.
• Exclusion area: Identifies a portion of an inclusion area that the camera should ignore.
• Point: Includes an X and Y coordinate. Three or more points define an inclusion or exclusion
polygon.
• Polygon: Identifies an inclusion or exclusion area. Formally, it is a closed area with at least 3
points.
2.10.2 Adding an Inclusion Area
Click the provided button on the Basic Tab to add an Inclusion Area. For more information,
see Creating an Insight-Sensor Mask topic on WebHelp.
Once you click the button to add an inclusion area, you will see a rectangular area display by default
with a table of 4 X and Y coordinate values. You enter and remove values from that inclusion area
table as necessary to specify the area that the camera will cover. You also need to modify the points
that were created.
If you do not add any areas in the mask object, the sensor then uses the maximum field of view range
in which to count people.
The Insight-Sensor appears as a green circle at location X=0, Y=0.
You cannot save the mask with any less than 3 points in the table. Once you define a valid area, the
Save button displays and you can now click Save.

2.10.3 Adding an Exclusion Area
Within the inclusion area, you can add another area that you wish to exclude from the camera’s field
of vision. For instance, you may wish to click the button to create an Exclusion Area of any shape
within the original inclusion area.
Removing an area from people counting using an exclusion area within an inclusion area.
Once you have created a valid exclusion area, you can click the Save button.
You can create multiple inclusion and exclusion areas. As a result, you can right-click the inclusion
area or exclusion area text to display a context menu for that area. Click the Clear all points command
in that menu to clear the points from the selected area. In this example, the command clears the
points from the exclusion area.

You can then start to rebuild the exclusion area by clicking the Add a Point command in the context
menu. Finally, you can also delete the entire area or figure by clicking the Delete area command.
2.10.4 Segment People Count Inputs
The thermal imaging camera in the sensor takes an image every two minutes and that image is
compared to the background image to allow people count calculation.
In the EcoStruxure BMS configuration, the segment people count input binds to the Value property
of the people count sensor. From a run-time standpoint, the segment people count input is an integer
data type in the EcoStruxure BMS that displays the people count.
For more information, see webhelp topic Configuring Segment People Count Inputs in the RP
Controller .
2.11 DALI support for Input Devices
2.11.1 Overview
This is the first release that supports the DALI Inputs Devices.
In addition to the DALI gears (Lights), the 2 following CRS DALI modules supports Electronic Control
Devices (ECD):
• DALI with power distribution: RP-C-EXT-DALI-1-PD
• DALI without power distribution: RP-C-EXT-DALI-1
A CRS DALI module can support up to 16 devices (ECDs) on the DALI bus
Each ECD can support up to 4 inputs (DALI instance).
4 types of inputs are supported:
• Push buttons (IEC 62386-301)
• Absolute input devices (IEC 62386-302)
• Occupancy sensor (IEC 62386-303)
• Light sensor (IEC 62386-304)
2.11.2 Features available
Control Device:
• “Discovery All” control devices connected on the DALI bus in the Device Discovery
• “Discovery New” control devices connected on the DALI bus in the Device Discovery
• Can create up to 16 “Control Devices” object for a CRS DALI module and associate them
with discovered devices
• Select the Operating Mode of the ECD (default value is 0).
Note: with some devices, the default Operating Mode (0) is not supporting DALI instance
and need to be modified in order to use the device.
• View device traceability information (HW, FW version, S/N) and status

Push Button instance:
• Define the instance ID corresponding to the Push Button (information provided in the ECD
manufacturer documentation)
• Enable/Disable the instance on the ECD
• Allow to set the time a button should be pressed before the ECD considers it as stuck (10s
steps)
• The value of the inputs corresponds to the state of the push button: Pressed
(True)/Released (False). When the state of the push button changes, it triggers an event on
the DALI bus that is received by the DALI CRS module and then update the push button
value in the server.
Absolute Input
• 2 different types of inputs can be created in EBO:
o Binary input (2 position switch)
o Analog input (Slider, rotary, switch...)
• Define the instance ID corresponding to the input (information provided in the ECD
manufacturer documentation)
• Enable/Disable the instance on the ECD
• When the value of the input changes, it triggers an event on the DALI bus that is received
by the DALI CRS module and then update the input value in the server.
• It is possible to modify the deadtime period during which the Device will not trigger any
new event. It is also possible to enable the device to periodically send an event on the DALI
when the input value is not changing.

• For the Analog Input, it is possible to convert the raw value received from the Device using
top/bottom scale conversion settings.
Occupancy Sensor
• Define the instance ID corresponding to the occupancy sensor (information provided in the
ECD manufacturer documentation)
• Enable/Disable the instance on the ECD
• When the state of the sensor changes, it triggers an event on the DALI bus that is received
by the DALI CRS module and then update the sensor state in the server.
State of the sensor is Occupied (True) / Vacant (False)
• It is possible to modify the deadtime period during which the Device will not trigger any
new event. It is also possible to enable the device to periodically send an event on the DALI
when the sensor state is not changing.
• The DALI events sent by the sensor on the bus can be filtered.
“Occupant/Vacant” events: should be enabled for a presence sensor
“Movement/No Movement” events: should be enabled for a movement sensor
“Repeat” events: can be enable to allow the device to periodically send the sensor state.
• For a movement sensor, a reset timer allows to define how long the occupancy state
should be kept after a movement detection.
Light Sensor
• Define the instance ID corresponding to the occupancy sensor (information provided in the
ECD manufacturer documentation)
• Enable/Disable the instance on the ECD
• When the value of the sensor changes, it triggers an event on the DALI bus that is received
by the DALI CRS module and then update the sensor value in the server.
• It is possible to modify the deadtime period during which the Device will not trigger any
new event. It is also possible to enable the device to periodically send an event on the DALI
when the sensor state is not changing.
An hysteresis (absolute value or percentage) can be set to limit the events on DALI bus
when the light value fluctuates.
• The raw value received from the Device should be converted into a value in Lux using the
light value step and offset settings (corresponding information is provided in the light
sensor manufacturer documentation)
• To allow to calibrate a light sensor, a gain, an offset and a maximum light value properties
are available (similar to Ambien Light Sensors from a Multi sensor or from an Insight
sensor)

5. Important Engineering Information
Important engineering information with regard to the EcoStruxure Building Operation IP Controller
(MP-C/V, IP-IO, and RP-C) is listed below.
5.1 SpaceLogic IP Series (MP-C/V, IP-IO, and RP-C) Factory
Firmware
When first powering up a new SpaceLogic IP Series Controller it is important to verify that the
controller has the latest firmware build loaded for the version of EcoStruxure Building Operation
build being used. Please see the compatibility matrix in section 2 and section 8.1 for details on
applying the latest firmware.
5.2 SpaceLogic IP Series (MP-C/V, IP-IO, and RP-C) BACnet
When a user imports an SpaceLogic IP Series Controller with Value or Output objects, they may
observe a warning in the import dialog (in addition to the yellow progress bar):
2018-06-07 [Link] WARNING: Property "RelinquishDefault" in object "~/BACnet Interface/IP
Network/DeviceName/Application/ObjectName" was configured RetainLevel, but target version
does not allow that.
This warning does not indicate a failure and may be safely ignored.
5.3 Connected Room Solution – Light & Blind
The Lights and Blinds connected to the CRS modules should be tested for compatibility / verified
with CRS.
5.4 Connected Room Solution – DALI Module
If moving a DALI module that has been configured from one RP-C to another RP-C, upon
discovering new lights on the second RP-C will have unpredictable results, use discover all.
5.5 Connected Room Solution – DALI discovery
Before attempting to discover DALI lights it is important to ensure that the CRS module (LV or HV)
has been powered up for at least five minutes to allow the system to stabilise.
5.6 Zigbee Engineering
5.6.1 Zigbee Device import files clarification
Each Zigbee physical devices supported by EBO need a dedicated Zigbee Device Import File. This file
describes functions and abilities specific to the physical device. You can think of it like a logical device
(driver) that EBO needs to be able to setup the physical device under a Zigbee network.
There are two variants of Zigbee Device import files. Automation Server (AS) files and RP Controller
(RP) files. If you intend to setup a Zigbee Physical device under AS choose file names with prefix AS.
If your Zigbee device runs under a RP choose file names with prefix RP. Zigbee Device Import Files
can be downloaded from Schneider BMS Application site.

Above picture shows two variants of same Zigbee physical device as you can find then on Schneider
BMS site. Note the prefix difference AS or RP.
5.6.2 Downloading Zigbee Device import files
Zigbee device types are not included in the EBO installation. They must be downloaded to your PC
and imported to the Type Library as “Zigbee Device import files”, before the corresponding Physical
Zigbee device can be configured in EBO. Zigbee Device Import File can be downloaded from
Schneider BMS Application site.
5.6.3 Improved handling of Zigbee Device import files
In EBO 4.0 the handling of Zigbee Device import files has been improved. The files are still imported
to EBO, but now the device type is imported to the Type Library instead. To add a Zigbee Device
Import file to the Type Library simply download the file to your hard drive and point to the location
by pressing the icon and navigate to the directory where the files were downloaded, select the
downloaded file, press OK. The file will be imported to the Type Library.

Warning: Engineering with Custom Types pane must be chosen to make Type Library visible.
5.6.4 New way to associate Zigbee physical device with logical device
Drag the logical device from the Type Library to the Zigbee network in the System Tree.
Choose the physical device in Device Discovery and drag it to the logical device in System Tree. Click
on the save icon.
5.6.5 Zigbee configuration in the RP controller
The Zigbee network is created in the IO Resources folder of the RPC.
When creating a Zigbee network select the ‘Zigbee standard security network’, enabling automatic
Zigbee channel detection, this will find the best available channel available.
For the RP-C make sure the Port
reference is set to USB.

If the Zigbee channel has been set to ‘Best available’ when the Zigbee interface was created, you
will need to upload to see what channel has been found and the PAN ID.
If the Zigbee network is not set to automatic in the creation wizard it will be necessary to manually
set one, then after a minute do an upload to see the PAN ID to confirm operation.
If all is well the Network status should be ‘online’.
5.6.6 Discovering the Zigbee Green Powered sensors.
First you need to set the Sensors into pairing mode, 1 quick press should be followed shortly by 3
green flashes, meaning it’s been discovered, if you get three red flashes the paring has failed, check
you are in range of the USB adaptor and try again. Also check the sensor is in the decommissioned
mode by doing a long press, you will see 2 orange flashes followed by 2 red flashes, release the
push button after the first red flash.
When the sensor is in paring mode use EBO to discover the devices:
You are not able to create a
sensor object by discovery and
dragging the discovered sensor
object to the Zigbee network,
instead you must use create
New to create the required
sensor object type, then drop on
the sensor object.
Note; it can take some considerable time for all the properties of the SE Green Power sensor to be
obtained, an upload generally speeds things up.

Also, some object properties are not implemented such as the Green Power and Basic objects.
5.6.7 Removing and replacing Zigbee Device types
By removing all logical device objects of a specific Zigbee device type, you will remove the type
object as well and the device will be removed from the device list in the New device wizard.
Device types cannot be upgraded. If a new version of a “Zigbee Device import file” is released, and
you want to use it in your configuration, you must either import it in parallel or replace the
previous version manually. An already created device cannot be “re-typed”.
5.6.8 Decommissioning GP sensors from an existing Zigbee network
It is essential when decommissioning a Zigbee device i.e. GP sensor (for use on another AS or RP)
that the ‘Remove association’ command is performed from EBO while the Zigbee device is
operating normally (i.e. online and connected to its parent controller).

[ Release Notes ] SpaceLogic IP Controller Firmware – Release Notes v4.00.01
If you decommission the Zigbee device by pressing the service button on the GP sensor or via the
EBO command ‘Leave’ while it is commissioned but not connected with its host controller, it will
not be possible to re-commission it to the same EBO or RP host.
This is due to cyber security requirements.
The work-around to re-using a GP sensor that has been blocked is to delete the Zigbee network on
the host AS or RP device and re-create it.
5.6.9 Moving Zigbee USB adaptors
Do not swap the Zigbee USB adaptors between RP-C’s or AS-P’s/AS-B’s, for this release, once
plugged in and recognised by the device they will not be recognised again if moved between
devices, without deleting the complete Zigbee network.
5.7 BACnet
5.7.1 Synchronize Bindings of Value and Default Priority Level
Previous EBO versions allowed users to modify the Value property of a BACnet object when a
binding exists on the default Command priority (typically, 16), and vice-versa. As some customers
found this confusing, the system now makes each property read-only when the other contains a
binding.
For users who wish to maintain the previous behaviour, a new system setting was added. This
setting is found in <Server>-System-Interface manager-BACnet called ‘Synchronize bindings of
value and default priority level’. When changed from True (default) to False, the system behaves as
before. The setting applies to all BACnet objects in all types of devices – EBO, IP Field Controller,
3’rd-party, etc.
Please see the Technical guide for more detail.
5.8 SMI Blind:
• The hot-plug of motors is not supported in this release. This means that the 230V
supply to the CRS module needs to be off when motors are plugged into the module.
• If a motor needs to be replaced then a new discovery needs to be done. This because
the repair function is not available in 3.2.
• There can be a problem related to discovery of SMI blind motors when it comes to
blinds with the same address . This typically will occur when many new blind motors
are being commissioned due to them defaulting to an address of Zero.
Just re-run the discovery usually resolves.
See also known defect #45423- Association of existing blind is removed when another
blind with same address is connected and discovered
See also known defect #45438- If two blinds with same addresses are discovered, the
result shows one additional record with Keyid =0 and manufacturer as 'Unknown'

5.9 Restoring Optional Properties
This function has now been moved to the IP Controller level so optional properties that are not
available after upgrade can be restored. In particular for this release is the Bluetooth settings,
occupant App white list for the RP-C and for the Sensor expansion module and Room unit
properties.
Please note that if the object is a custom type it will need to be checked out before running this
command.
Any new object created with this release will contain the new properties, this command is only
applicable when upgrading from an earlier release.

5.10.1 Discovery of Control Devices
Using the Device Discovery menu, there are 2 new commands for the Control Devices:
• “Discovery All” to discover all control devices connected on the DALI bus (addressing and
association of existing control device will be reinitialized)
• “Discovery New” to discover only the control devices connected on the DALI bus but not
yet discovered.
5.10.2 Association of Control Devices
Once a device has been discovered it can be associated to a Control Device already created using
drag and drop from the device discovery menu or it is possible to create and associate it.
The association can take up to a minute to complete (depending on the number of devices to
associate and the number of inputs pre-configured).
Then the device traceability information (HW, FW version, S/N) and status are available:

APPENDIX A – SpaceLogic IP Controller Upgrade Procedures
A1 Upgrading Controller Firmware
Warning for MP controllers and IP-IO: If upgrading from an IP controller that is currently at
[Link] the upgrade might fail the first time, if it does wait until the controller has restarted
and repeat the upgrade a second time.
Down-Rev from a factory installed 4.0 firmware IP Controller to “earlier” versions
It is important to note that any Down-Rev should be undertaken after hosting and prior to connecting
any external equipment ( beyond power and Ethernet connection) and prior to downloading any
application or undertaking any other configuration of the controller.
Warning for IP controllers: Down-Rev is NOT supported between versions once the application is
loaded on to the controller.
Ensure EBO is upgraded first to build v4.0.1.86 before proceeding to upgrade the firmware. If
upgrading an alpha/beta site or alpha/beta CRS hardware please read section A7 first.
Using WorkStation, you can update the firmware of multiple BACnet/IP devices and their attached
SpaceLogic Sensor devices, RP controller expansion modules, and multi-sensors at the same time
with minimum downtime. In particular, the universal upgrade package simplifies the update
process and requires minimal user involvement and coordination. See BACnet/IP Device Firmware
Management for more information.
For more information on updating firmware , see Updating Firmware in BACnet/IP Controllers .
A2 Upgrading CRS Module Firmware
The firmware for the CRS modules is contained within the RP-C firmware package. Online CRS
modules will be updated automatically once the RP-C firmware has been applied.
To view the upgrade status/progress, select the Room Bus folder and add properties as below:
The upgrade is complete once the Firmware upgrade status returns to Normal, when it is queued
for upgrading the status shows ready and when downloading a percentage is shown. Should the
upgrade fail a warm start of the RP-C should be performed.
A3 Upgrading SpaceLogic Sensor Firmware
The SpaceLogic Sensor firmware is upgraded automatically as needed after the host controller
firmware is upgraded. There is new SpaceLogic Sensor firmware for this release as shown below. It
can be verified in the properties of the Room unit device or in the Device Report.
