Artificial Intelligence
1) Describe a product or application which is based on artificial intelligence
Nowadays, there are many products available , which based on Artificial
Intelligence such as Robots, Siri , Google Assistant , … I would like to
describe about Dosmetic robot , which i usually use in my house . I watched
an advertisement video on social media , which introduced about items can
help people do houseworks easier and more effective .
This robot, which names Xaomi mi , which is programmed to run errands or
help around the house as well as clean house …When it runs out of battery ,
we just need to recharge the battery and then continue using .
That’s the reason why i decided to purchase this item after seeing video .
Thank to Xaomi Mi robot , i can save more time since i decrease the bundern

10) Do you think robots will ever replace human beings in the workpalce
completely ?
In my opinion , robot can not substitue the role play of human beings in
workplaces . Eventhoung The productivity of artificial intelligence may
outnumbering human beings. For example , Robots will bring a lot of benefits
to people by replacing in some dangerous jobs , which people find it too
difficult to participatein . howerver, the human workforce is liberated to focus
on tasks for which they are more equipped, such as those requiring creativity
and empathy or emotion to conduct .
11) Would you agree that artificial intelligence can become a threat to human
existence ?
Personally speaking , robots bring a lot of convenience . As a result , Human
develop more lazy and lethargy or neglect . Therefore , people over depend
on these robots to solve a lot of problem in their life or may be result in poor
interpersonal skills because people conmunicate with other one by robots in stead
of taking face-to-face with friend or family . Eventually, these thing can affect
negative on our society .
12) Should AI robots have the same rights and citizenship as human beings ?
I am a Gen Z , who was born in Technology driven world . Therefore , it’s hard
for me to live a day without using technological devices, especially my
smartphone.
It was as a present , which i bought for myself when i graduated form
university . I spended my first income to purchase a smartphone , which
names iphone ,is rectangle sharpe and blue colour. It blews me away by a
lots of cool apps and functions. That’s the reason why i was glued to the
screen .
I could’nt deny that this multifunctional device has a big influence on my life .
I was no longer needing dictionaries, notebooks, a camera, a music player or
a TV because now I can look up new words, take notes, capture photos, listen
to music and watch films on the screen of my phone. Therefore, It takes me
over 8 hours per day to use it because This phone has helped me a lot with
my work and study or even slove some problems in my daily life .
I would like to talk about the app names Google Map, which I consider
extremelly useful in technology- driven world. I depended on this map a lot
when i moved into Ho Chi Minh city because i was born in the Midle region of
Viet Nam . At first, i did not know about the route of HCMC .
Thank to this app , i just needed to click on the application icon and checked
out the distance, fastest routes and the time required to reach the destination.
Often it helps me to avoid congested roads and plan ahead.
Google Map was found on The App store by my moblie phone and i find it
important to use because It offers detailed information about geographical
regions all around the world. Apart from the standard road maps, it provides
street views of various places.
Additionally, there are zoomable route planners for car drivers, bikers, walkers
and alternative modes of transportation from one location to another. With
recent updates, one can also find different shops, businesses around the
location and lay out customer credibility based on user reviews.
In my leisure time, I download books and music from the Internet as well as
listen podcast before falling asleep. I pay for these via Electronic Funds
Transfer because i believe that the authors and songwriters should be
rewarded for their works
Beside that , I use social media networks to keep up with my friends and
family across facebook , instagram or face time and also shop online from
time to time.
I’m living in the computer age and cutting-edge technology. That’s the reason why I
use Internet everday with over 8 hours per day . It allows me to work from home ,
study , entertaiment or even much more. However , i realize that i am glued to use
internet . Therefore, i need to balance it to advoid being glued to screen.
Indeed, thanks to the Internet, my learning has become quicker and smoother. For
one, I can easily access any necessary literature, articles without looking through all
the library materials. Second, the Internet tools have made online collaboration with
other students possible. Therefore , i can save a huge amount of money from travel
expenses.
I use computer for working because i am a content creator . Therefore , i can not do
without computer . Daily I spend roughly 4 to 6 hours working on my laptop , either
doing my home assignments or project work. Beside that ,i have to do other activities
such as watching YouTube to find new trend , editing my new videos and podcasts,
chatting with my friends, that takes up to 2 hours a day.
8. Do you agree that men are more absessed with new technology than women ?
I don’t think men are more hooked on new technology than women because we are
the same . Maybe there are difference in the way use technology between men and
women . While women tend to use or buy portable items such as smart watch ,
phone … Men more likely love robot , car , smart home …
9. What diferences are there between the attitudes of older and younger people to
technology for communication ?
Older persons less often have an intuitive approach to new technologies than
younger ones because Young Geration , who was born in Breakthrough pediod of
technology, are tech savvy people . Therefore, they have more oppotunities to
approach with technology advances , information , experience. While Oder people
consider that is rocket science things
10. Do you think that the advance of technology has improved standards of education
in schools?
Advanced technology such the use of computers and theinternet has improved the
standards of education in schools. These technologies allow the students and
teachers to find answers to their academic questions. For example, they can find the
answers to their academic problems from other parts of the world through the
internet when no available answers can be found in their locality.
11. Why are some people deciding to reduce their use of technology ?
There are some reasons why some people may choose to reduce their use of
technology. Technology products , especially screens, can disrupt sleep patterns
and quality. By reducing technology use before bed, individuals may be able to
improve their sleep and feel more refreshed and energized during the day. Beside
that , Technology can be distracting and reduce focus, making it harder to
concentrate on tasks. Therefore , By reducing technology use, individuals may be
able to improve their ability to focus and be more productive.
12. Do you think that the rate of technological expansion will slow down in the years
to come ?
Yes , i do . Technological progress is still moving forward, it’s slowing down. Of
course, this slowdown may be merely a temporary lull because our society
witnessed the launch of a million new problem-solving technologies. Therefore,
technological expansion need to refocus more research efforts to prepare for next
steps.
ENERGY
1) What types of energy are popular in your country ?
In my country , There are various kinds of energy such as : light energy, solar
energy , wind energy … However, the most popular power in my country Viet
Nam is electrical energy because of it’s ability to improve quality of life, dive
economic development , provice essential services, foster technological
advancement , transform the way we live and work . Its dominance has led to
the creation of a robust and reliable electrical infrastructure, allowing
electricity to play a central role in modern life.
5) Why do you think the prices of oil and gasoline keep rising ?
Personally speaking , there are various reasons, which lead to the prices of oil
and gasoline keep rising in the recent year. Firstly, after covid 19 Pandemic ,
people hit the road again in 2021, More vehicles of all types took to the road.
More planes took off. Demand for gas climbed, but supply couldn’t catch up.
So gas prices rose. Secondly , In early 2022,Russia conflicted Ukraine in late
February also had an impact on the price of oil and gasoline . However , the
most important thing is fossil fuels , which are not inexhausted . Therefore,
when people over exploit Non-renewable energy , it will run out .
9) What are the problems associated with the increase in the use of private
vihicles ?
There are many problems ralated to the rising of using private vihicles . Firstly
, the congestion increase dramatically on the road , which lead to accidents ,
futher casualities and have nagative impact on economy . Beside that , traffic
jams will make vihicles slowly down and cosume more fuels . These thing will
create more automobike emissions and waste oil and gasoline . The rusult is ,
it contributes Environmental hazard such as : green house , energy crisic or
even climate change ….
11)Do you think nuclear power safe ? Who should be allowed to use it and
why ?
Yes , According to a newspaper , which i read about Nuclear power in United
State. This country voided more than 471 million metric tons of carbon dioxide
emissions in 2020. Therefore, I think Nuclear power is a zero-emission clean
energy source , which can keep the air clean by removing thousands of tons
of harmful air pollutants each year that contribute to acid rain, smog, lung
cancer or disease .
From my view , The goverment should manage to allow using nuclear power
for cooperation or factories , who have ability to generate nuclear for people .
It is because, beside many benifits of nuclear energy such as : support
national security , create more jobs , clean the energy resource … It’s also
exist drawback sides .
I would by an electrical car which name Tesla by Elon Musk . I want to purchase it
because i have passed the driving test since 2021 and I set the plan that i will buy it
in the end next year . I crave this great car for the purpose of taking me and my
whole family to different places at ease without having to worry about waiting for
public transportation or unlikely event such as rain, storm , … as well as it would help
me commute to my school easier and quicker. Beside that , If i bought that car , i
could save more money because my job is content creator on social media . Hence ,
i need to move regularly to record video and take new photos to update on my
channel . Thank to this car , i will not pay a huge mount of money of moving by taxi .
The most important thing is this is a electrial car and it can limit the carbon dioxine
emisssion , which do harmful on our health and evnironment . However , Tesla is not
prevalent in Vietnam and there are no many store display it . Therefore, i would
waiting for over a year to can recieve this car if i odered it .
Family
1) How much time do you spend with your family ?
well, i try to spend as much time possible as i can on my family when i
have a chance to return my home town , which is located in the middle
region of Viet Nam , Quang Tri . I usually get home about 1 week in
special holiday such as Tet holiday or summer … because i have
moved into HCM city to study and work when i was 18 year olds .There
fore, I often cook traditional foods for my beloved family’s member ,
serve self-dishes or clean the house for my mom to make up for a long
time i was absent at home .
2) How well do you get on with your parents ?
i count my self lucky when i was born in my family , which have role
mordel parents and kindness siblings. Therefore , my family bond
relationship each other . When i have free time , to show my gratitude
to my parents , i ussally cook some delicious foods for my family
because my parent value the spiritual meaning more than materialistic
one . enjoying the reunion meal , we will have idle chit-chat about
what’s going on in our lives. Thank to these moments , i have a chance
to enhance tight-kit relationship among family’s member .
8) How has the size of the family changed in the last few decades in
your country ?
From my experience, I can say that my grandfather had an extended
family and people at that time used to live together with close relatives.
As far as I have heard, their forefathers also live in a joint family and
the number of family members was sometimes more than ten.
However, the trend of living in an extended family has changed
remarkably in cities where most of the families are nuclear in nature.
The villages in my country still have large families who live together but
the number is shrinking day by day.
9) How have the roles of wives and husbands changed in the last
few decades?
11)Who do you think should be responsible for the care of the elderly
, the family or the goverment ?
I believe the family has the major responsibility to look after their elder
family members and support them personally as they did in their youth
age. These senior citizens have sacrificed a lot throughout their lives to
form a family and then to make them happy. The young members
should do everything in their power to accompany their elder members
and provide them with their necessities.
The inpring person in my life is my mother. She has been a role model in my life for
me to follow. She’s dilligence , patient and understanding; she’s also got a good
sense of humour and seems to get along with everybody. Fortunately, I’ve inherited
some of these character traits.
I think she brought up me and my siblings really well; she was quite strict but always
fair. Despite the fact that I am the middle child in the family, she never let me down in
comparison to two younger siblings . Besides, She setted a good example by
working hard and having an optimistic outlook on life. I vividly remember that she
worked around the clock , but she always took care for me and my siblings and
backed me up when i chose my job now. That’s why I go the extra mile at the
present to climb career ladder and repay her bringing up .
Now my mother is at her retirement and has more time for the family. But,
unfortunately, I’ve been living far from home, so we have very little quality time with
each other these days. However , i ussually spend idle chit-chat on my mom by face
time every night . I can confide everything to her, things like my study, my work or
even my relationship. She’s always been someone who I can turn to for advice
Money
1. How important money is to you ?
Yes, definately . Eventhough many people consider that Money can’t buy
happiness, i can use money to buy security and safety for myself and my
loved ones. I can take advantage of money to pay for all the things that make
my life possible, such as shelter, food, healthcare bills, and a good education
to pay for promissing future or reach new heights . In some cases , when my
grandparents get sick , i can save them from sick bed .
2. Do you think you will have lots of money in future ?
yes, definitely. I am working hard right now to get a nice well-paid job. I run
my own bussiness as a founder of clothing brand and influencer at the same
time . I work arround the clock every single day . Therefore , i think in the
future, I will for sure be able to maintain a good lifestyle.
12. Do you think that women are better at saving money than men ?
Well, it’s hard to say. Men’s biggest risk is their egos. They need to brag
about their possessions and how much money they’ve earned, so they end up
spending more money. Women tend to save money and spend it when they
really need it. However, there are still exceptions when women manage
money worse than men. That’s why there is no strong proof to show men or
women save more money.
ii. Describe a time when you saved up money to buy something special
You should say : What you wanted to buy
Why you wanted it
How you saved your money and explain how you felt when you
finally bought the item .
Accommodation
1. Is it better to own your own home or to rent ?
From my point of view , i prefer to buy a house than rent it because in long
term , buying is cheaper than renting . Rent is money that you cannot take
back. When you are renting a home, you are making monthly payments for a
property that you don’t own, which means that you don’t build equity. Beside
that , Buying a home allows you to build wealth over time and Buying a home
lets you lower your living expenses significantly in the long run
6. Do you agree that there is a right age for young adutls to stop living with
their parents ?
I completely agree with the point that young adults should stop living with their
parents when it's suitable. But the exact time can be various, depending on
the cultures of their countries in general and families in particular. In Vietnam
for example, parents usually want their children, especially their son, to live
with them as long as possible even when the son gets married. The daughter
may leave when she gets married because she has to live with her husband's
family. So it's hard to tell a specific age when people should start to live
independently. I think everyone can decide it for themself.
7. Do you live in a house or an apartment ?
I’m renting an apartment near the center of HCM city . I’d like to buy my own
apartment one day, but I have to save up for a long time first because buying
a property is extremely expensive these days.
9 . What is the best thing about your home ? ( tham khảo câu 8 )
9. Would you prefer to live with your family or on your own ? Why ?
Well, i would rather choose live with my family than live a lone because various
reason . One of these things is the feeling cozy, which i find it too difficult to have if i
lived alone . My family ussually have diner together to confide all of happiness and
sadness in my beloved family’s member , particularly with my mom. I share
absolutely everything with her and she is the best mentor in my life. As a family, we
have many fun activities together. We love to enjoy our meals together whenever
possible and enjoy a movie on a weekend night. Apart from that, we talk about our
life over the dinner table and suggest each other what should be the best course of
actions if there is an issue.
beside that , The country has so many historic buildings, too! They offer visitors a
lesson in architecture and engineering. I cannot find the right words to describe its
beauty. It is like a paradise
I. Describe an interesting house or apartment that you have visited
You should say : - Where the house or aparment was
- Who lived there
- What it looked like on the outside and or inside , explain why you found this
house or apartment interesting
Well, I think today I’m going to talk about my friend’s villa that I had a chance to visit
last week. It is located in a very luxurious residential area in Phu My Hung ward,
District 7, HCMC , which is nearby my arpartment . I guess, the value of that house
must be around a million US dollars.
Talking about what it looked like, I remember that when looking at the exteriorof the
house, it resembled a mansion with European style of architecture that we may see
in movies. Walking through the door, I was blown away by the way the owner
decorated the house. I felt like I was walking in some kind of palacein bedtime
stories. And, the unique thing is that many items in that house were extremely rare
and valuable.
However, the best thing about this house is that it is very spacious and all the rooms
were very well-arranged to make it more convenient for the users. Anyway, I think
that place would be quite creepy when the sun goes down because it made me think
of some horror movie.
And finally, even though it was one of the greatest house that I’ve ever seen, I still
don’t want to live in it. To be honest, I’m very lazy so I don’t think that I can stand
sweeping and mopping that house everyday. Besides, I’m afraid of ghosts so living
in such a scary place like that doesn’t seem to be a good idea.
It’s located in District 1 – right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The church is
surrounded by other important structures such as Reunification Palace on the right,
HCM Post Office on the left and at the back Diamond Plaza - a great place for
shopping. To get there is quite easy. It’s a 5-minute-walk from here.
Even though there’re plenty of churches around here, this one is quite unique for it
was built by French colonizers before they left Vietnam.
The architecture of Notre Dame is not only impressive but also unique. It’s quite
large. It was built out of bricks and concretes. Its distinctive shape makes it look like
a whole lot of mushroom to me. The church comprises of a rectangular building with
2 towers at the sides of the entrance, along with the statue of Mother Maria in front.
Because the building is quite old, certain parts of it have been reconstructed time
and again.
There’re several activities take place at this place. For example, Christians go there
to say their prayers, tourists pay a visit to this must-visit structure, husband-and-wife-
to-be pose for their wedding photos while young people just sit around for a chit-chat
and take in the view.
I guess I love this building not only because of its distinct look but also due to the
memories I have had there with my friends and loved ones.
Traffic
1. what is the most popular means of transportation in your hometown ?
Without doubt I would say motorbikes . Almost everone travels by motobike in
my country . The reason why motobike is popular in my opinion due to their
reasonable price and convenience , They also extremely vary in terms of
size , colour and quality , thus a wide variety of choices is available for
everone .
I think I’d prefer public transport. It’s much more inexpensive and because it
can contain a large number of people, it helps ease the intensity of traffic jams
during peak hours and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions caused by
vehicles. Private transportation is more costly in terms of fees, taxes and
gasoline.
They were made from a special 'breathable' material and had a synthetic sole
grafted onto the body so that they fitted like a glove on your foot. But the bottom was
quite similar to a normal running shoe so that it gripped well and protected your feet.
Beside that , the moral of behind that video make my heart warm . Advert
commercial highlight the tight-kit family relationship when Tet hohiday was coming .
the main character was aboard student and he didn’t return his homeland because
the geographical distance is too far. However, Thank to Bitsh shoses, he could feel
like coming back home .
So, I ordered a pair in my size, and they arrived a couple of days later. I've tried them
out a couple of times so far, and they seem good. They cost me just a little bit more
than normal running shoes, but I think they're worth the extra money. The running
experience is quite different from normal, and I prefer it. That's an example of one
such advertisement that persuaded me to buy a product.
Consumerism
1. Do you consider yourself a shopaholic?
No, i’m not . I considered shopping as a hobby. I loved the thrill of finding a
good deal and the excitement that came when buying something new.
However , i just buy that item when i really need it to advoid innecessary
things . I prefer to save money for rainy day than use spend thrift on
shopping .
2. Which is the most popular place for shopping in your hometown ?
I was born in a small town, which is located in the middle region of Viet Nam ,
Quang Tri . So there are only a few branded showrooms of my city, but most
of the people from my town prefer to shop from the local market and the
famous lace for shopping is mina bazaar. Different types of shops like clothes,
jewellery, mobile, makeup and many other shops are there
7. Do you think people own more things than they really need these days?
Absolutely yes! Generally speaking, I think people own far more things than
they really need. I think is largely due to the consumerist culture we live in
this day and age. We are constantly being told by advertising that our lives
can be improved through buying more things, whether it’s designer clothing,
the latest gadgets, or even expensive cars. None of this is really necessary
but our society over values materialism to the point where we don’t realise
how absurd all of this spending is. But if you stop to think about it then you’ll
see that the emphasis people put on owning things really is insane.
Therefore , i think that the reason why many people consider that we are
living in society , which values someone’s quality, kindness and morality more
than their possessions.
12. How do you think the internet will effect buying petterns in the future ?
I believe a large proportion of the consumers will use the Internet and e-commerce
platforms to buy products of their choice in the future. With the rapid popularity of
websites, people would not like to visit a shop to get a product. The convenient
means of payments, including credit cards and virtual money, would be more widely
used and online merchants would be ready to sell everything online. Companies will
get even better at using data to predict consumer needs and make more accurate
recommendations. Therefore , it is often predicted that mobile Internet shopping will
dominate the overall shopping trend and online shopping would become more
ubiquitous and more simplified in the future.
Shopping is a very popular hobby among girls. I personally love shopping too. I
visited the mall on the weekend looking for a handbag. I fell in love with Lady Dior
handbag and decided to buy them . I bought it for my birthday and i have to say that
it own cost a fortune because of the reputation of designer label . However, every
single year , i always rewarded for myself one of this brand because of my dilligence
in working . The handbag went great along with the pink dress that I had specially
bought for the occasion. The dress had a similar colour with this bag so they looked
great together.
The handbag lift me up and build a confidence in me. I personally love them. They
are trendy and elegant. I mixed all of this outfit with the high heel and this
combination was such amazing that i recieved a lot of compliments from my friends .
I was super excited to show them to my mom. She too liked them and appreciated
my choice. She examined the quality and was very satisfied. I look forward to
shopping from the same store again. I’m really happy about my purchase.
II. Describe your favorite shop
You should say : - Where it is and what are its customers
-What items it sells
-What sort of people are it customers
-How often you visit the place and explain why you like the shop so much
Shopping is not my cup of tea and i more tend to shop on interner than visit store.
However , i ussually commute to Viettien shop , which is a well-known local
Vietnamese brand name and sale mainly in men’s garments, including shirts,
trousers, and suits; they even have a section for accessories like wallets, ties, belts. I
often came here to buy some gifts for my dad to give him supprising on various
special days in year.
I like Viettien for a couple of reasons. Firstly, their costume design and quality are
highly selective and tasteful simply because most of the clothes are designed by
well-trained designers, and they provide cutting-edge fashion and elegant designs in
the first place. Personally, I really appreciate the originality and freshness of the
design. Besides, I also think that Viettien is a relaxing place to hang around. The
whole decor and lighting are pretty sensational. The layout of the shop is customer-
oriented; you can easily find what you are looking for. The shopping atmosphere is
pretty soothing. Even the background music boosts my shopping appetite. More
importantly, the services are superb. The shop assistants at Viettien shops are
always hospitable. Hence , those are the reasons why I prefer Viettien outlets.
Health and Life Style
1. Are all your days the same ?
Not really. For me, a day-off is quite different from a busy working day from
many different perspectives. Apart from that different circumstances and
events make the days different from each other. While Sunday is the day to
spend time with my family members, meet my friends and play with them in
the evening, I have a really tight schedule on a weekday.
2. How do you usually begin your day ?
I’m not a night owl , hence , I always try my best to get up as early as
possible. To be an early bird can help me have more time to do everything I
like. I start my day with a 45-minute hit the gym . Then I commute to university
at 8 am and come back home at 5 pm. I often end my day at 12 pm by putting
my mind at ease. However, this schedule is not fixed. It depends on the
amount of the duties I have.
3. What part of your day do you like the best ?
That’s definitely when I come home from work and gather around the dinner
table with my family. To me, it’s a great time to have a chit-chat with family,
surf the Internet, listen to music, or watch a favorite movie. Seeing them after
a long hard-working day can help me feel recharged, so I look forward to this
time of the day the most.
4. How important is it for you to relax at the weekend ?
It is absolutely important to let my hair down during the weekends as it helps
us to recuperate from the fatigue of our works during the week and get ready
to face the challenges of the next week. Besides, it also helps us enjoy some
quality times with our family and friends which are very crucial to maintain a
work-life balance.
5. Is exercise part of your daily routine ?
Yes, Physical activity is a key part of preventing some diseases and boost
immune system . Beside that , Hitting the gym regularly can help me keep in
good shape and maintain healthy lifestyle .
6. What would you like to change in your daily life ?
I would like to get up earlier in the morning than I do now. Next, I would like to
take up regular exercises in a gymnasium. Apart from that, I would like to
leave university early to walk in the park for an hour. Apart from that, my
current daily routine is all good . It allows me to let my hair down after a long
day as well as keep in good shape .
7. Do you think people pay enough attention to their health these days?
No, I don’t think so. Nowadays, most people are leading a sedentary lifestyle
where they don’t have enough time to look after themselves. They don’t pay
attention to their diet and hardly workout. But there are a few self-conscious
people who are aware of their health and prefer eating a healthy diet and
doing some physical activities in their life to ensure they’re healthy.
8. Why do you think some people continue bad habits although they know
it’s harmful to their health ?
Although some people know that bad habits are damaging their health, they
continue to follow them. This is because they have attached themselves to
bad habits. As the saying goes ‘bad habits die hard’ it becomes difficult for
the people to stop doing things that they’ve inculcated in their daily routine.
10. In what ways does your mental health affect your work productive ?
Mental health at work consists of psychological, emotional and social
wellbeing in the shared work environment. These factors directly affect job
performance and satisfaction. For example, psychological factors may include
stress levels and job insecurity. Emotional factors may include employee
morale, and engagement. Therefore, the more mental health thay get ,the
less motivate they gain to contribute working
-When you do it
i would like to share with you something that I am keen on doing in my leisure time
to stay healthy, which is jogging.
I took up this habit about 2 years ago. At that time, I was up to my ears withstudy to
prepare for my graduation examination so I was a little bit stressed out. Then I
thought that I needed to do something energetic to release some stress, so I decided
to have a crack at jogging.
At first, doing this was quite challenging for me because I led a sedentary lifestyle. I
just sat in front of my computer every day to complete my assignments. But after a
few days of suffering from muscle aches, I got used to jogging and kept doing it in
the evenings.
Well, I have to say that this sport has helped me a lot in strengthening my physical
health as well as my mental health. Thanks to jogging, I was able to lose my fat belly
and get lean. Now, to be honest, I’m quite satisfied with my youthful appearance and
trying to maintain it. Also, jogging allows me to unwind and enjoy fresh air, and
whenever I go jogging I feel like my mind is being refreshed.
In the future, I am going to keep doing this to stay healthy and maybe I will try some
other sports too. That’s all!
-how long the illness lasted and say how it affected your life at the time.
It’s always been an unpleasant experience when getting sick, at least for me
personally. Then it’d be even more unpleasant if you got sick right before an
important exam, and it happened to me once.
It happened last year when I was about to take a beauty pagent , that I caught
severe flu. Even though flu is not a really serious disease and can go away on its
own, it’s still quite troublesome when it occurs. I got some symptoms , which were
so mild and unnoticeable that I didn’t pay much attention and bother to take any
medicine. On the first day, I just felt my throat a bit sore, like something was blocking
it. There was nothing more serious than that for the next day. Then the night before
the final round, at midnight, I got a fever. That was the last thing I expected to
happen right before such a big day. I took an aspirin to reduce the fever and tried to
get back to sleep in the hope that everything would be alright in the morning. But it
was not.
When I woke up in the morning, my head was pounding. What was worse was that
my throat was so painful that I couldn’t say a word. That was when I realised I
couldn’t make it to the performance and had no choice but to stay home.
After that incident, I became more attentive to health problems and would take
immediate action when I sense anything wrong happens, minor or not.
Science
1. Is your work/major related to science ?
Not really . To be honest, I never particularly liked studying science at school. Some
things about biology interest me, such as genetics and the process of evolution, but I
soon feel out of my depth when reading about them in detail. Physics and chemistry
are even worse. I’m pretty clueless when it comes to these subjects and try as I
might, I can never seem to even feign an interest in them.
No, not really. As I briefly mentioned before, anything science related is not my cup
From my point of view, the study of the planet is more interesting as from miles away
we can see the planet, and with the cryogenic engine we are trying to reach, and it is
more interesting.
Well, I think there’s no specific part that stands out as being more difficult than the
rest. However, most people would find chemicals symbols/formulas and equations
incredibly confusing and frustrations to learn. It’s also challenging to comprehend
numerous complex theories in Physics
5. How has the science that you have studied hepled you ?
To be honest with you, I don’t think it has helped me that much. Although I cannot
deny the fact that it does allow me to quickly figure out some basic calculations on a
Yes , i do since science plays an essential role in our life. It has laid the foundation
for almost all inventions and discoveries of humankind. However, I believe there is
no need to force people to study it unless they are genuinely interested in.
More space exploration promises to bring new and serendipitous benefits to a variety
of areas, such as power generation and energy storage, recycling and waste
management, advanced robotics, health and medicine, transportation, computing,
and engineering. It’s hard to predict exactly what new technology may arise in the
future . However our society witnessed the tremendous benifits of space science ,
which brings positive change to our life.
By and large, I would say that people are fascinated by the idea of the unknown and
the idea of exploring isolated areas. Maybe scientists have more important interests
such as looking for new materials, or even search the likehood of human beings
living in another planet.
i am pretty sure i can recall one or two lessons about the solar system and stars .
However , it’s defiitely not on top of priority list in our education system , which to be
honest with you , i find a huge shame . Franky speaking, the education system in VN
doesn’t seen to have room for more stimulating topics to arouse our interests in the
universe and what surround us . As a consequence , our knowledge about space is
very limit.
10. Does information about the stars and planets help children to develop
imagination?
Yes, by all mean . Undoubtadly yes, By filling children’s brain with knowlegde on the
universe, it will absolutely cultivate their curiousity and foster their imagination . Not
only this, It may educate them on how important it is to be resourceful . Therefore, i
truly believe that if the education could raise their awareness about the solar
system , It would have a very banificial impact on shrinking the carbot footprint in the
future years to come
11. Are films about planets and the solar system popular in your country ?
No, not at all. From my observation, there is more of the thirst for horror and
action moviesrather than those that are in the sci-fi genre. I think the idea of
life in space is very far-fetched and people are very much skeptical about
these ideas in my country. Having said that, I myself have a genuine interest
in movies related to the solar system and some of my favorite have to be
Interstellar and the Martian.
12. How do you think people’s atitudes towards space exploration have
changed since the first Moon landing ?
I think there’s possibly less interest now. since it’s no longer new and exciting Back
in the 1960s. when the Moon landing took place, everybody was very impressed.
It was an incredible moment, and it made the human race come together and see
that we can acheive something that’s ‘out of this world’. But I think we’ve reached the
point now where the next step is going to be too risky and too difficult. And well – as
far as I’m concerned, it’s a waste of money.
What is it?
At the beginning of high school, I started to learn Physics. And I was immediately
attracted to such a great subject. Over the previous years, I had prepared a lot for
Mathematics, but then I realized it was only about theories. I couldn’t see any
realistic applications in math, yet things turned out to bemuch more practical when it
came to Physics. I started to know how the engines were run, how things happened.
I could explain some common phenomenon, such as why there are storms and why
we always see lightning before we hear the thunder’s sound. Also, I understood how,
in a soccer match, the ball could travel in a curve before it passed the goal line.
It was all about Physics for me. It has helped me to explain those things and build
my logical thinking. It helps me a lot, not only with the school’s curriculum, but also
with problems I face in my life. For example, when I am in the troublesome situation,
I will consider all of the factors that might affect the outcome of my decision. With the
logical thinking from Physics, I could see things from different perspectives and care
about every variable. Just like the way I solve Physics problems. So, they are some
basic applications of Physics that I can think of.
Languages
1. What are the advantages of learning mutiple languages ?
Learning multiple languages has several advantages. It improves brain functions and
makes it easier to learn and understand new things. It isn’t only about increasing
brain mass; it enhances memory as well. It is all about learning how to communicate
and connect with others. Though, learning a language can be daunting at times, it’s
an important way to connect with people across geographical boundaries.
4. Do you think that all chldren should learn foreign languages at school?
yes, children should be taught foreign languages in school from an early age.
Foreign languages help improve children’s ability to communicate, thereby improving
their fluency and confidence in speaking. It will help them gain knowledge about
foreign countries and increase their interests in their cultures.
5. What kind of quality should a language teacher have ?
Not only a language teacher in particular but educators in other areas should have
certain skills and knowledge to successfully inspire and instruct their students. First
and foremost, of course, deep knowledge and great education matter. It’s often said
that “a teacher is only as good as his knowledge is”. People may not need academic
degrees or certificates in other jobs or industries, but in education and training, they
are solid proof to verify your professional qualifications. Furthermore, communication
skill also plays an essential role. If one is an articulate and persuasive speaker, he
will be able to convey his lectures with better results. Last but not least, a good
sense of humour may be of great help to grab students’ attention and interest.
6. Why do people learn more than one language?
People learn more than one language because we live in a multilingual world, where
connections are very important. And with the world becoming increasingly
globalized, knowing a second language can always give you an edge over others. It
can increase your career prospects and provide an insight into other cultures.
Overall, being bilingual can bring you several advantages.
I. Describe a language other than English that you would like to
learn
-what the language is , where it is spoken and what you think would be difficult
what would be easy about learning the language and explain why you would like to
learn it
I will now tell you about my favourite language besides English - it’s Korean for sure.
To me, it’s an interesting language with a lot of culture behind it. Also, Vietnam has a
very close relationship with Korea, so I believe it will really help my future.
I doubt it would be really challenging for me to learn Korean because it is not a Latin
language, which is totally different from my mother tongue. Korean uses its own
characters in its writing, so I would have to get familiar with its own alphabetical
system. There are a lot of hard tones and stresses, too so it would be time-
consuming to master Korean, but I think I will get a grasp of it gradually by following
various lessons on Youtube. As well as this, I will enroll on a Korean course at a
reliable centre. I will also get a good textbook that summarizes all essential
vocabulary and grammar. I think Korean vocabulary would be much easier for me to
acquire than their grammar because I have heard that learning grammar is extremely
frustrating. The reason why I really want to be fluent in Korean one day is because I
am so in love with its adorable sounds. I myself actually can pick up some common
phrases through a lot of Korean dramas and K-pop songs.
I bet it would be easy to find a language partner or join a language exchange club to
practice Korean because the number of Korean tourists visiting Vietnam has been on
the rise and there are many Korean people staying in Hanoi now.
You know, knowing Korean in combination with my English skills can give me a
competitive advantage in the not too distance future and it undoubtedly would make
my future holiday in Korea more enjoyable. On top of that, I would be such a great
feeling to be able to watch Korean movies without Vietnamese subtitles.
At that time, I was hanging out with my friends. Suddenly, a foreigner came up to me
and asked for directions to a supermarket. Honestly, he spoke too quickly for me to
catch everything. But after he repeated his words, I finally understood and showed
him the way to the nearest supermarket. I used body language a lot to explain the
directions to him, since I didn’t speak English well then. After that, he said “Thank
you” to me and headed for the supermarket.
I realize that English plays an important role in our life, despite the fact that we don’t
live in English-speaking countries. It is spoken globally and it’s becoming the
dominant language. Therefore, I have been trying to practice speaking English daily
so that I can have a good command of this language, and I can talk confidently with
foreigners, whatever the topic of conversation.
Sports
1. Do you enjoy playing sports ?
Well, I think I’m a big fan of sports. Although I’m not good at it, but my favorite one is
swimming. You know I can often meet new people and make friends when I do
sports. And as I think that, you know, practicing a sport regularly does wonder for my
health. It keeps me in shape, it helps to relieve my back and neck pains. And last but
not least, it refreshes my mind after a long day of hard work.
8. Do you think sports stars are good role models for children ?
yes , i do . Well-known athletes who are hard-working, resilient and socially
responsible can become good role models for the young to follow. Beside that ,
many famous sport starts take part in charity events, they can teach the young about
the importance of fulfilling social responsibilities and supporting people with
economic disadvantages.
My favourite sports person is Leo Messi. He’s a famous football player, and some
would say he’s the best football player in the world. He started his career in
Argentina, where he was born, but moved to Barcelona, in Spain, when he was a
teenager. He had a disability, for which the Spanish team agreed to pay his medical
bills.
Despite his health problems, Messi developed into a modern legend. He has won
numerous trophies over the course of his career, including five “world footballer of
the year” awards – which is a world record. I remember first hearing about him about
ten years ago, when he was first making headlines.
His life story caught my attention just as much as his incredible skills. I admire him
because of his triumph over adversity. I think that his inspiring story of perseverance
is a lesson for us all.
II . Describe a sport match you have watched
In 2018, I happened to watch the final of the AFC U-23 Championship on TV. This
tournament was held in Changzhou in winter, and unfortunately, the weather on that
day was not in good condition at all. The snow was so heavy that the audience
couldn’t really identify the Uzbekistan team since they were wearing white.
To talk more about the match, it was a fierce soccer game between two countries
when the Uzbekistan team scored the first point after 15 minutes after the beginning
of the game. After that, the Vietnam team made several attempts to gain some
scores back, but they were all in vain.
However, when Uzbekistan players committed a foul, our team earned a free kick.
At that moment, the coach chose Quang Hai as his trump card to do the kick.
Unsurprisingly, the atmosphere was hyped up since he scored the first goal in the
last few minutes of the first half.
Coming to the second half, the players in both countries had a faster speed as all of
them wanted victory. Watching the screen, I could feel the tension as well as the
excitement on the field. But there was a downbeat moment for the Vietnamese as
Uzbekistan scored their second goal from the corner. I saw the players crying when
they lost the game, which was heartbroken because they had come so far.
In the end, Vietnam was the runner-up in the Championship. Although I was a little
bit sad when my country didn’t win, seeing the players putting all their effort into the
competition made me feel proud.
Crime and Social issues
1. Is your country a safe country ?
Obviously yes. Vietnam has a legislative body and citizens are protected under a
clear and transparent legal system. I feel lucky as I was born in a country where
there is no terror. Unlike other Western countries where residents are allowed to
bear arms, Vietnamese inhabitants are prohibited to do so. Therefore, I find it safer
to stay here. Besides, law enforcers are assigned to be present on the street to
ensure the safety of traffic participants, which is very nice.
Well, one of the most optimal ways to ensure the safety of a neighborhood is the
presence of law enforcers. If there are patrols at certain times during the day, I’m
sure lawbreakers are less likely to be involved in crime. Most crimes happen in
deserted areas where there is no supervision from the police officer. That’s why I
believe allotting fixed figures of authority can keep neighborhoods safe.
5. Do you think criminals can change ?
Obsolutely yes. When a person commits a crime, it doesn’t mean they will certainly
recommit. There are many people who are able to turn their lives around after
being reformed. I believe no one was born to be a criminal. Their background, living
conditions, and environment are factors having profound influences on their
behaviors. If an ex-convict is supported, they totally have a chance to become a
beneficial member of society.
Our social structure mirrors to citizens and communities what we value and how we
set priorities. Social root causes of crime are: inequality, not sharing power, lack of
support to families and neighborhoods, real or perceived inaccessibility to services,
lack of leadership in communities, low value placed on children and individual well-
being, the overexposure to television as a means of recreation.
8. Do you think that poverty is a justification for crime ?
yes, i do . Poverty is something that affects all nations, and because of this, there are
sections of society that resort to crimes such as theft and pickpocketing to earn a
living. To make matters worse, others prey on the desperation of the poor, to achieve
their personal goals. For example, i read on thư newspaper that in South Africa, rival
factions control the streets of the major cities and they resort to drug smuggling,
extortion, and other misdemeanours to get by.
9. Do people who break the laws in your country receive the correct
punishment ?
The laws are made as such that any act that is illegal according to the constitution of
our country is punishable in its own accord. Some of the most common offences are
traffic related incidents and often involve people not wearing seat belts or helmets. In
a country like ours it is very difficult to maintain law and order to the maximum and
there are repeat offenders who get away with crimes on many occasions. The more
influential person you are the easier it is for one to get away with crimes in my
country so at times people who break the law receive the correct punishment and
sometimes the lawyer and their contacts are able to influence the judiciary and
justice is not delivered.
10. What laws should be introduced so that people do not violate traffic
rules? Why do you think so ?
Traffic laws that force people to pay hefty fines for violating traffic rules can be a
good start. But, for serious violations, there should also be such laws that cancel the
car registration, driving licenses and then take them to prison for a long term
punishment. Finally, there should also be some provisions in the laws that will force
the traffic rule violators to help the “injured and suffering persons” until they are
‘reasonably’ recovered from the wounds/damages of the accidents. I think that these
kinds of laws will work to a large extent because they will make people pay “heavily”
for their ‘irresponsible and criminal behaviour’.
11. What are some situations in which people may disobey some laws ?
Basically, there are two different kinds of situations wherein people may disobey the
laws. First, if a situation comes when a person is not able to meet his/her basic
needs, such as food and medicines, in order to survive, the chances are really high
that he or she will disobey some laws, no matter how harsh the punishment is.
Secondly, if a person feels that some laws are falling short of ensuring “justice” on a
continuous basis, in the name of ensuring some “vague rule of laws”, it is only to be
expected that people will disobey those laws. Interestingly, some people violate laws
just because they do not know them or take the laws very lightly.
12. Why do you think death penalty is not acceptable in some comtries?
As far as i known , numerous countries think that The death penalty is inhumane.
Death penalty can be considered unsuitable punishment for several reasons. The
strongest argument is that we have no rights to kill other humans. Right to live is the
basic right of any human being, and no one can infringe this right, irrespective of the
person’s deeds. Moreover, innocent people can face wrongful execution. Such unfair
sentences take away lives of innocent people and make other citizens lose faith in
law and justice. And besides, sometimes criminals repent of their acts. In this case
they should be given a second chance to improve themselves.
I would share to you about pickpocketing , which is the most typical ill of my
society. This is because law enforcers find it hard to identify potential suspects
until they literally take action. But when it actually happens, it seems too late. I can’t
remember how many times I witnessed people become victims of such illegal
behaviors. Not only losing personal items, people sometimes are dragged on the
street, leaving them with injuries.
To deal with this crime , the government is the best way to deal with crimes . The law
can deal with anyone who broke the law because they have professional judges who
have given the offenders a good sentence. Furthermore, the authorities has a lot of
ways to punish the offenders such as corporal punishment and capital punishment,
or some punishments can change the behavior of people who are breaking the law
such as cleaning the street or helping people who have any problem.
Every country has its own laws to maintain social stability. Today, I would like to talk
about a law that is used to protect the environment. Not so long ago, the Vietnamese
government ordered a ban on dumping garbage in public places.
I first heard about this law on screen. It was the national TV channel that informed
the public about this law, which was enacted because public places in Vietnam had
been full of waste. It says that no one is allowed to litter in public sites, especially
tourist attractions. If anyone breaks the law, littering in these places, this lawbreaker
must pay a fine of about 1 million to 5 million Vietnamese Dong. Although litterers
don’t have to serve time in prison, this amount of money can still act as a deterrent
against this petty crime.
And the most important thing is that the citizens’ awareness of protecting the
environment has greatly improved.
Gender equality
1. What behaviors are deemed as approriate for men but inappropriate for
women ?
2. What job are deemed as appopriate for men but inappropriate for
women ?
3. Are there different expectations for sons and daughters in the family ?
4. Do you think fathers are capable of carrying out the duties of a mother
and vice versa ?
I believe that there is equality in the world in such a way that a father can do duties a
mother does and as you asked ..vise versa. It is rooted in he type of relationship and
agreement between both partners. Although some societies tend to have their norm
of what a father or mother would do, nowadays the barrier has been broken because
of the necessity to have a dual income family. They have to be flexible because both
of them are already out earning at their own time and it would be pretty tiring for a
wife to do both the household chore and earning at one run.So there has to be a
logical agreement of sharing the other duties a family. In other words they both can
do duties interchangeably.
5. Should boys and girls be bought up differently ?
7. Are there gender role biased issues in your country ? What are they ?
yes , there are . Gender discrimination reveals itself in many different forms,
sometimes obvious and sometimes not.
Unequal treatment of people based on their gender has lifelong and generational
impacts. Millions of women in my country , especially in remote areas , are denied
access to education, health services and economic opportunities, experience
reduced access to food or live in fear of gender-based violence .
Gender inequality affects everyone, including men. Stereotypes or ‘rules’ about how
women and men, girls and boys should be begin in childhood and follow us through
to adulthood. It has the nagative effect not only on mental health but also physical
one .
Not everyone experiences inequality the same way. The situation is worse, and often
different, for people who face more than one type of discrimination, which lead
chronic stress or even self-distructive .
10. What do you think are the causes of income inequality between
genders ?
11. Do men and women have equal opportunities for promotion in the
workplace ?
I would talk about Ms Thái Vân Linh - also known as Shark Linh - a female leader
I'd love to see in person. I will refer to her as 'Shark Linh' in this small talk.
Although born in Vietnam, Shark Linh was brought to the US with her family when
she was very little. Therefore, whereas she has an impressive command of English,
she's still occasionally struggling in getting her ideas across in Vietnamese.
However, the language barrier does not hinder her from embarking on a new venture
in Vietnam. she rejected great offers from American corporations to become the
CEO at VietnamCapital, and later launched her start-up - Rita Phil - a company that
sells tailor-made bridal gowns.
Shark Linh is most famous for her role as a Shark in Shark Tank Vietnam - the
Vietnamese version of the famous reality TV series. Though she's usually the calmer
Shark among the four who usually take a gentler approach when she makes
comments on others, she's also very sharp in making decisions. From what I've
observed throughout the series, Shark Linh only invested in fields she had great
knowledge of.
Shark Linh has been a great role model for Vietnamese young women. Her famous
saying "I see no discrepancy in agility and ability between men and women" and her
appearance in the show has inspired thousands of Vietnamese women, encouraging
them to work in the field of finance.
The journey helps you form your personality, broaden your horizons, and the
experience, both positive and negative teach you to trust yourself and your
decisions.
10. How do you think travelling will change in the next 20 years ?
i think travelling as we know it will change dramatically over the next 20 years .
International travel will be a faster, easier and more ecologically sustainable activity
than ever before. in the future, maybe we instantly checkin with New Technology, for
example , facial pattern recognition systems are already in experimental use at
airports and within 20 years, computer systems that can reliably identify your face
will be in widespread use to check-in seamlessly or Space will be a Regular

I was so eager for the trip that I prepared everything such as my clothes, camera and

The time we spent in Nha Trang was a blast. We got to try out so many new things
such as skydiving, surfing, and diving to see the coral reef. This place has one of the
most beautiful beaches in Vietnam with deep blue water and pearly-white sand. Also,
the food there was so unique and delicious. I think the most memorable moment of
that trip though was definitely when we bought fresh ingredients from a local market
and grilled them by the beach. Sitting there by the fire on a breezy night with the
I would like to talk about the time when my journey was delayed due to the bad

Well, I would say I’m still a kid at heart (a person who still feels like a child in their
heart), so I really enjoy watching kids’ movies. Although they seem simple and
innocent, there are often many life lessons packed into these films. Moreover, I’m
really into drama and historical movies. When I watch these, I feel that I can deeply
understand human emotions and re-live historical moments, like the Vietnam-
Well, I am quite a busy bee, but I manage to see about one or two films a week at

In my country, there are many different types of music that people like to listen to.
Pop music is always fashionable and so is folk music. People have many different
tastes and there are always concerts for classical, rock, pop and folk. Traditional
music is still much loved for weddings and baptism celebrations, as well as village

As I see it, there are many musical instruments but my favorite one is piano. I like it
because of many reasons. Firstly, it makes me unwind when listening; I can forget all
of my sorrows and feel comfortable. Secondly, when playing it, I can imagine the

7. How has your taste in music changed over the last 10 years ?
8. How has technology affected the music industry ?
Generally, most people seem to enjoy whatever’s popular during their time, so older people
tend to prefer songs from the past while younger people gravitate towards genres that are
much more modern, but it’s more complicated than that. Speaking from a scientific point of
view, someone’s taste in music is largely influenced by what they listened to in their
childhood, which would often be deemed superior to other genres that they are exposed to
later in life.
what we see ?
general audience. Without some sort of censorship, many cinemas and TV series
would include terribly violent and offensive scenes which would ultimately diminish
their quality and their acceptance to the family. The idea of freedom of expression in
a movie varies from people to people and even from country to country. Thus a
censorship panel can determine what is suitable for the audience and how much
audience and they are often influenced by the movie they watch and by their
favourite actors or actresses. If no censorship is in place and they are free to watch
any movie or programme they want, we would end up having a society with more
juvenile delinquency.
11. How do you think consorship laws will change the next 20 years ?
I believe the censorship laws would become more rigid to eliminate violent and
offensive scenes from a movie but would allow creative artists to express their
viewpoints more freely in the future. Specifically, after 20 years, we will have more
laws related to movie censorship and ordinary people would be allowed to express
their views about movie censorship. By that time, many programmes would be
released worldwide and we will have global censorship panels who would determine
Talking about songs, I have way too many good ones to mention. However, if you
ask about my childhood favorite there’s only one called “Que Huong” – which can
broadly be understood in English as “My Country”.
This song used to be the lullaby not only for me but all the kids in my village. If my
memory doesn’t fail me, I believe my mother first sang it to me when I was 2 or 3
years of age. It could be long before that, I can’t say for sure.
When I was a child, mom used this song to soothe and send me to sleep. I begged
her to do that every night not only because she could sing it beautifully in harmony
but also because of the familiar images that appeared in my innocent mind at that
time. Even now, her voice and the tune sometimes echo in my head.
My Country” describes the peaceful life in the countryside of Vietnam. It was actually
a poem, which was modified and set to tune by a Vietnamese composer. This song
portrays earnestly and beautifully everything about Vietnam countryside: the fruits
orchards, the full moon night, the monkey bridge, etc. and what I particularly love is
the way the author compared Vietnam with a devoted mother whom we always miss
and want to rush back whenever we’re away from.
Sometimes on the street, I suddenly heard the song and all the good old days and
memories flooded back. Once in a while, I do listen to it myself, especially when I
miss my mother.
