Assignment Questions (Answer all the Questions)
Submission Deadline (Revised): On or before 06/12/2021
1. A series circuit consist of R = 2000 ohms, L = (0.056 + 5×m5) henry (H), C = (40 + 0.5×m5) micro-farad (μF)
and the applied voltage v = Vm sin (377t +0) V [Vm = (280 + (3 × m4) + (5 × m5)]: (i) Draw the circuit diagram,
(ii) Calculate the inductive reactance, the capacitive reactance, and the impedance. (iii) Draw the impedance
diagram. (iv) Calculate the current, the voltage drops across the resistor, the inductor and the capacitor. (v) Verify
the KVL. (vi) Calculate the power factor and reactive factor, the power, reactive power, apparent power. (iv)
Draw the power triangle.
2. For the following circuits: Calculate the total impedance, I, I1, I2, VC. Calculate power supplied by source.

3. For the following circuit diagram:


(a) Calculate (i) the total admittance and impedance, (ii) the currents I, IR, and IL.
(b) Calculate (i) the power factor and reactive factor (ii) the apparent power, real power and
reactive power.
(c) Draw the admittance diagram, phasor or vector diagram and power triangle.
