INTRODUCTION
The strict observance of Philippine Electrical Code 2009, DPWH Memorandum Circular 2015-02 and DILG
Memorandum Circular 2016-23 requires that, upon issuance of building permit, all buildings and establishments must
submit Electrical Design Analysis document for permit renewal to guarantee the safety of electrical system.
The purpose of the document is to show:

VOLTAGE DROP CALCULATION AND ANALYSIS
As stated "Conductors for feeder and branch circuit as defined by Article 1.0...shall be sized to prevent a voltage drop
exceeding 3% at the farthest outlet of power, heating and lighting loads, or combinations of such loads, and where the
maximum total voltage drop on both feeders and branch circuits to the farthest outlet does not exceed 5%, ...this is to provide
reasonable efficiency of operation". -- combined Article [Link] FPN No. 4 and Article [Link] FPN No.2 for feeder and
branch circuit respectively.
• PEC Table [Link] AC Resistance and Reactance for 600V Cable, Page 1506
• NEC Table 8 Conductor Properties, Page 721
• 3-Phase and 1-Phase Voltage Drop Formula was used.
METHODOLOGY
• Manual calculation of Voltage Drop from the Feeder (source of power) to branch circuit.
• Length of the feeder shall be measured based on plan and on actual if required.
• The total Voltage drop will be the voltage drop from Source plus the voltage drop of the branch circuit.
• The EDA documents shall be signed by the one prepared the computation and check and validated by a
Professional Electrical Engineer.
SERVICE ENTRANCE TO PANEL PP
APPROXIMATE LENGTH OF FEEDER: 20 m
TOTAL FULL LOAD CURRENT: 184 A
2
FEEDER SIZE: 100 mm THWN
FORMULA
VD = 2 x I x (L/1000) x R
V.D. = FULL LOAD CURRENT (AMP.)
I= TOTAL LENGTH OF WIRE (METER)
L= TOTAL LENGTH OF WIRE (METER)
R= RESISTANCE, OHM PER METER
VD = 4.607 V per branch
% VD = 4.607
x 100%
230
% VD = 2.0032%
VOLTAGE SENDING = 230 VOLT
VOLTAGE DROP = 4.607 VOLT
VOLTAGE RECEIVING = 225.39 VOLT
FINDINGS
• VD are acceptable and compliant with PEC [Link] FPN No. 4 and [Link] FPN No. 2 for feeder.
SHORT CIRCUIT CALCULATION AND ANALYSIS
This section deals with the Short Circuit Calculation and Analysis, there are specific steps and documents that needs to be
prepared prior to the calculation.

• Shall be used to compute for the impedance of the cables. If there will be table of motors, generators,
transformer, it must be properly reference here.
