Concept of SMART School:

Many Communities school in Nepal is deprived from basic Need of Society like Electricity,
communication and Education material. We see confusion, illusion, delusion in the eyes of
students of such schools those are the future of the country. In this 21 st century no one should
live in darkness of education. Still thousands children are far from the education. Poor
quality and wide disparity in education quality and access among school types, regions, and
population groups are two of the major problems facing Nepal’s education sector. A vast
majority of students attending public schools in rural areas do not have access to learning
materials beyond the regular books. How a country can have sufficient talented and energetic
manpower for the development of the country for the future? For the Backbone of Nation and
to support such deprived children with quality education NAST has come up with certain
strategy for community’s school. For quality education audio visual course materials and tele
education which is boon for such rural schools where no sufficient teachers are available within
whole year.

School children from Upper Dolpa Region Near to Tibet Border, these school children are fully
isolated from Government facilities and Benefits.
Vision:
Provide Quality education to remote community Schools.

Objectives:
Power the schools with 500 watt solar electricity. Through Electricity Television can be
Operated and children are aware about Real world. VSAT technology can be powered, laptops
computer etc.
VSAT Technology Setup for Communication & Tele Education: VSAT is satellite technology
through which phone call and tele education is provided to such remote areas via satellite.

Raspberry Pi computers for Audio Visual Learning course materials. This Computer is
designed to give engaging and meaningful learning experience to the students. Closely aligned
with the national curriculum to help teachers and students meet the learning objectives.
Modular activities, each module corresponding to a subject and grade. It contains core subjects
in the national curriculum – Nepali, English, science and math from grade 1 to 8 in Nepali and
English language.

Cost for SMART SchooL:

1. 500 Watt Soalr Electricity setup: Rs. 3,00,000/

2. VSAT Ground Terminal Setup: Rs. 3,00,000/

3. RaspBeryy Pi computers: Rs. 2,00,000/

Total Cost Including Operation cost: Rs. 8,00,000/ ( including 15% operation cost)
