Art Nouveau Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Art Nouveau presents a unique set of challenges that can be both
intellectually stimulating and demanding. This art movement, which flourished in the late 19th and
early 20th centuries, is characterized by its intricate designs, flowing lines, and a departure from the
rigidity of previous artistic styles. The difficulty in writing such an essay lies in the need to delve into
the historical context, understand the philosophical underpinnings, and analyze the intricate details of
Art Nouveau creations.
Firstly, one must grasp the socio-cultural landscape of the time, comprehending the influences that
gave rise to Art Nouveau. This involves exploring the shift in societal values, the impact of
industrialization, and the emergence of a desire for a new aesthetic. Additionally, understanding the
global variations of Art Nouveau, as it manifested differently in various regions, adds complexity to
the research process.
Moreover, dissecting the philosophical aspects of Art Nouveau requires a deep exploration of the
movement's rejection of traditional artistic norms. It demands an examination of the artists'
intentions to break away from historical styles and embrace a more organic and fluid approach. This
intellectual journey involves analyzing manifestos, studying the writings of key figures, and
deciphering the symbolism embedded in the artworks.
The visual complexity of Art Nouveau further complicates the writing process. Describing the
intricate details of its ornate designs, curvilinear forms, and symbolic motifs requires a keen eye and
a rich vocabulary. Balancing the technical aspects with the broader cultural and philosophical context
is a delicate task that demands a nuanced and well-researched approach.
In conclusion, composing an essay on Art Nouveau is a challenging but rewarding endeavor. It
demands a thorough understanding of historical contexts, philosophical motivations, and artistic
intricacies. Yet, unraveling the mysteries of this captivating art movement can provide a deep
appreciation for the creativity and innovation that defined an era.

Deep Ecology And Environmental Pragmatism
The concept of sustainability is becoming an ever more relevant and popular ideology
today. Many college campuses take great pride in their sustainability, they take many
steps to ensure that their garbage output, water usage and other various items are
sustainable or working towards that goal. In areas outside of the college camps setting
however, sustainabilityis often hard to reach due to a wide array of concepts, including
deep ecologyand environmental pragmatism. I believe the two key points (of the 8)
behind deep ecology is that humans have no right to reduce the richness and diversity of
our natural resources, and that human interference with the non human world is
excessive (Naess 3). Simply put, deep ecology is a push back against our over use of
resources, with a goal to hardly use them at all. This concept occasionally goes together
with the view held by many on environmental pragmatism, but the two often collide with
each other. Environmental pragmatism involves the basic concept that humans are part
of the environment and that this must be taken into account with its management(Light 3).
This means that humans historical and cultural uses of the land must be taken into
account with its management, even if it is not the best option for the land management.
These two perspectives can come together to create a more sustainable environment, but
they more often have very extreme differences of how to manage an area, and this is
when wicked problems can
African American Stereotypes

George, Janel A: Stereotype and School Pushout: Race, Gender, and Discipline
Disparities
DESCRIPTION:
George focuses on implicit bias largely in the educational sector and how that effects
African Americans with the emphasis on specifically the black female. Educationally
facilities tend to apply restrictions regarding disciplines on a sort of equality across the
board basis; however, the failure of recognition is that this method is not effective and
results in long term psychological disparities that will prove to affect an individual s
well being well beyond their school years. Racism is certainly still prevalent in society
and perhaps even unintentionally woven into the very fabric that has a huge impact on our

Reflection:
This article was one of the most if not the most shocking of all. I have never even
considered the differences that African Americans must experience every day in an
environment designed to grow and feed their self image but this article proves that this
may be destructing what was intended to flourish a child. It changed the way I think of
fairness in discipline, as it does make perfect sense to consider the person s race, culture,
socioeconomic status, gender and ethnicity when applying any type of intervention with
them, in any type of service. This would include educating yourself on their history as
well. You must seek out understanding when engaging with someone whose
background will be quite a different shade than what yours is painted. It has really
made me curious about school policies and if they were constructed out of a historical
root of racism and applied to transform the unaccepted into either a more acceptable,
white American behavior or facilitate their path to their thought of place in society
overall, such as prison or a homeless shelter. There is obviously a crisis in modern times
and the impact it has may be one of the most of influential as the power of the educational
institution on a child must be largely one holding the most
Corrie Ten Boom
The theme of selfless service and unflinching love in the face of persecution dominates
the work of Corrie ten Boom in THE HIDING PLACE. Through the lens of her
Christian upbringing, ten Boom articulately recounts her life s journey from a small
child living in a bustling Dutch city to a vapid, malnourished prisoner of the German
Nazis. Through her life s struggle, she hopes to inspire others and teach a new generation
about the value of life and the innate capacity that all possess to fully love one another.
THE HIDING PLACE recounts Corrie ten Boom s intriguing life story. Casper ten
Boom and Cornelia ten Boom were married and started a family in the late 1800s in
Haarlem, Holland. Cornelia ten Boom, the youngest of four children, was born ... Show

This visit marked a turning point for Corrie. Through the Bulldog s anecdotes of
harassment and difficulty, she was able to personalize the wrath of the German
soldiers. She experienced first hand the effects that the persecution had on Haarlem s
Jews. Over the next few weeks, Jews began furtively arriving at the Beje under the
cover of night in order to escape their captors. Corrie, Betsie, and their father welcomed
these new guests with open arms, but the ten Booms knew that the Jews would not be
able to stay for very long. Ration cards were scarce and food would soon run out.
Corrie turned to her brother Willem, who worked with the Underground Resistance.
Willem arranged for the transportation of the Jews to the countryside, but Corrie knew
that his help would only last for so long. For her to be successful at helping the Jews,
she needed to make her own connections and arrange her own system of dealings. She
arranged for ration cards to be dropped off at the Beje, kept in contact with the
Resistance s top leaders, and had alarm systems and a secret hiding place in her room
built. The Beje turned into the hub of the Jewish underground movement in Haarlem
under the guise of a petty watch repair shop. Putting their personal safety at risk week
after week, month after month, the ten Booms oversaw hundreds of Jews taken to
