bound by greed and hunger

Summary

Kalon is sleeping. Peacefully. He didn’t wait for Killian. And maybe Killian
was just being a little too tired to think that way, maybe feeling a lot like shit to
even expect Kalon to stay up late to wait for him before they go to sleep
together.

Notes

hi! it's been a long while since i wrote something for my angel and demon :)

this is set years after the hush, baby! timeline, and probably two to three years after the
shanmiksthan fiasco because yes, killian pursued law

not proofread as always so expect errors :)

Killian groans as he forces himself to walk with sore limbs. So much for having to sit through
lectures after lectures, barely any time to take a quick break from studying—but, well, Killian
knew just how exhausting it would be.

He drops his bags on the floor, taking his hoodie off and fanning his shirt, dragging himself
towards their room and entering quietly.
It’s 3 am and Killian expects his boyfriend to be peacefully sleeping with the lights on because
somehow, he’s afraid of waking up in the dark and having no one beside him—and even as Killian
expects it, he feels disappointed.

Kalon is sleeping. Peacefully. He didn’t wait for Killian. And maybe Killian was just being a little
too tired to think that way, maybe feeling a lot like shit to even expect Kalon to stay up late to wait
for him before they go to sleep together.

He stumbles as he removes his shoes, slowly lifting the blanket and slipping beside Kalon, eyes
fluttered close and quietly snoring.

Killian immediately melts at the sight of her, so pretty with his unbuttoned pajamas, skin all for
Killian to stare at, drawing him in, urging him to paint it with his lips so it isn’t too bare and empty.

But he was caught off-guard by the puffy face, the dried tears running from the corner of his eyes
to her cheeks, the way the strands of his hair stick to his cheeks—a remembrance of a cry, perhaps
a breakdown, which Killian wished it wasn’t. He’d rather stumble and fall face first than be absent
at the occurrence of Kalon struggling on her own.

He reaches to wipe his cheeks with his thumbs, heavily sighing. “Did you have a hard time, Gali?”
Killian quietly mumbles, aware that he isn’t heard. Nonetheless, he continues. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry
if I went home late.”

Killian gulps, feeling himself doze off but he forces his heavy eyes to stay open, to stare at Kalon
longer, because Kalon would wake up at 6 am and prepare to go for work while he’s asleep, never
bothering to wake him up because his class starts at 9 am and he should get tons of sleep, and
although Killian hated that he’ll wake up without Kalon beside him, he really couldn’t complain
much.

So with the remaining time he has, he chooses to stare at her for as long as he could, because Kalon
is just so pretty. Three years and she is still so pretty in his eyes.

And while he gently brushes his thumbs over Kalon’s lips, the older slowly opens his eyes,
groaning at the wake-up call, lazily pushing the hands away thinking it was Soonie bothering her.

When Kalon realizes that Soonie didn’t have her fluffy hair, nor did she purr or bite her fingers,
Kalon blinks his eyes open to see Killian looking at him fondly.

“Ah, it’s you pala.” Kalon groggily whispers, squinting his eyes and yawning, yelping when
Killian suddenly pulls him closer and buries his face on her neck, lips pressing at the spot between
his neck and clavicle where he’s sensitive. “Kill.”

“Did you cry?” Killian says, voice hoarse and muffled, hands crawling down to slip his fingers
between the hem of Kalon’s shorts and his hip bone, tracing circles on the skin. “What happened,
Gali?”

Kalon chuckles lowly, hugging Killian back and brushing his palms on his back. “I did. Something
happened and it kind of triggered me. It’s nothing that serious.” He says, combing his boyfriend’s
dark locks with his fingers.

“I’m sorry…”

“For?”

“For not being there to help.”

Kalon smiles as hot breath tickles her skin, and then clicks his tongue when Killian’s hand goes
back to his waist, gripping tightly. “With the months that passed by, I could say naman na I can
calm myself down in situations where it isn’t that severe. Kapag naman malala, you know that I’ll
call you, right?”

“I know.”

“So rest easy, okay? Kaya ko naman, Kill. Kapag hindi, sasabihin ko naman agad.” Kalon
reassures and Killian simply nuzzles closer, letting out a breathy exhale. “Matulog ka na,”

“Law school is tiring.” Killian complains quietly, closing his eyes. “I don’t get to hang out with
you often, don’t get to kiss you as much as I want to, don’t get to touch and hold you like this—it’s
frustrating, hubby . Super frustrating.”
Kalon laughs, feeling his chest tighten and her stomach churn at the pet name that he didn’t bother
calling out because Killian was already so used to calling him that (and yet Kalon still feels new
and unused to it).

“Those sacrifices that you make are for the better naman, Alexander. Don’t sulk too much because
we haven’t been the same Kalon and Killian back when we were still college students, yeah? You
should have known it already… because we’re adults, we have other priorities.”

Killian clicks his tongue out of annoyance. “Ayoko ng gano’n. I want to be with you always. It’s
unfair.”

“Stubborn mo.” Kalon comments and she laughs again. He gently pushes Killian away to look at
his face, looking disheveled and drowsy but he smiles at Kalon. She flicks his forehead. “If you
study well and get good grades, let’s have our little staycation, okay?”

“Okay.” Killian smiles back. “I’ll do my best, hubby .” Kalon hums, tapping Killian’s nose, in
which the latter simply scrunches his face.

Killian’s hand rested on the back of Kalon’s neck before pulling her closer, letting their lips
connect in the way that is customary to them, in a way that would have Kalon slightly arch his
back and press his body on his boyfriend.

As exhausted as they are, they missed this too. And it wasn’t like Kalon and Killian could ever
handle two months of just simple affection like holding hands or quick kisses, because they had
always been impatient and covetous.

So yes, although Killian is tired, although Kalon would wake up at 6 to go to work, they hastily
strip off their clothes, letting their greed take over… as always .
