Objective 2, I have attached my Class

Observation Tool (COT) rating sheet from
my class observation. I received 7 as my
score, which proves that I used range of
teaching strategies that enhance learners
achievement in literacy and numeracy.
Applying wide range of strategies enables
students to assimilate more from the
learning process by improving themselves
in literacy and numeracy in Science Subject.

I see that teaching strategies that

develops critical thinking are evident in
every part of my lesson. This approach
checks students' current understanding
and bridges the new task presented. As a
teacher, I make sure that questions and
instructions are both in Higher Order
Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Lower
Order Thinking Skills with the guidance
of MELC.

For this objective, I have attained a rating of 7,

indicating that objective was attained. The
lesson maintained a learning environment that
promotes positive and non-violent discipline to
encourage learning. Maintaining this
environment provides a harmonious and striving
class that focuses on its common goal. I have
attached rules or reminders used to ensure
learning-focused environment. Rules and
reminders are best way to regulate behavior.

During our SLAC Session “Starbooks: Science & Technology Academic
and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk with our co-teacher Ma’am
Kim, I learned that this is a platform of DOST to help farflung schools
especially those who do not have an access to the internet to have an
information scource specifically in Science and Mathematics subjects.
DOST made it easy for teachers and students to understand their lessons
in Science subject since it also provides video presentation and pictures.
Although it is also limited, but it is a big help for us and for our students
considering the location of our school. But, if they’re going to upgrade it,
I would like to recommend them to have experimental videos too
especially in Chemistry and Physics.

For objective 8, here is my reflection in

one of our SLAC sessions. This is
about STARBOOKS that was made for
schools in far-flung areas.

For objective 9, the objective aims to select, develop,

organize and use appropriate teaching and learning
resources, including ICT, to address learning goals.
With videos and audio, presenting students with
problem-solving lessons could approach critical
thinking and creativity. Teaching your students how
to think critically and learn how to read between the
lines and solve the problem is an effective way for
21st Century learners based on modern technology
and how they can use it to learn more by themselves.
Accompanying technology, you won't be teaching
21st-century skills since many of them rely on digital
tools.

There is no greater office than a classroom full of smiling students wanting to learn.
The profession I chose goes with the word responsibility. A great responsibility. Teachers may
be tired, burn out, worn out but we are making difference every day. I believe that I am a
gardener--cultivating and preparing my classroom for the seeds of flowers that's going to be
planted. Each of them takes patience to grow and bloom.
As I continue my journey being a teacher, I keep discovering the true essence of a
learner-centered classroom. As it provides adequate designs in emphasizing the needs,
capabilities, perspectives, talents, and backgrounds of individual learners. It may seem new to
me, the environment and the community, but I thank God for the new experiences. When we
say learner-centered, it should be full of activities that will enhance students’ mental, physical
and emotional aspects. But, one of the problems I am facing in my classroom are absenteeism
and learners that are notably slower than other peers. I encountered students who didn’t eat
breakfast because there is no food at home and other different stories I have never
experienced when I was a student. But this taught me to be more understanding and be a
better teacher. If the students’ level of understanding isn’t the same as what’s in the
curriculum, then I must adjust my lesson. One of DepEd’s goal this year is “No Filipino
learner will be left behind.”, and I want my future students to take the next step and enjoy
what’s ahead of them.
