INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLATION:
Download and install our download utility (found in the email you received from us). We offer both PC and MAC versions of
the download tool.
1. Enter the ENTIRE serial code (found in the email you received from us)
2. The download utility will automatically download and install your library.
3. The library can be found through the regular browser in Kontakt.
TROUBLESHOOTING DOWNLOADS:
The download utility should generally work for all download purposes, however please use our manual download links if
you encounter any issues. The manual download links are generally slower downloads, but allows you to download the
compressed library files (.rar compression) through your browser. You can access the manual download links here:

TROUBLESHOOTING KONTAKT:
This library does NOT use the “add library” function in Kontakt and all files must be access through the regular Kontakt
browser (upper left side of Kontakt). Please use the file browser in Kontakt and locate the program (.nki) files in the library
to use it.

OVERVIEW
Roula Tsernou was born in Thessaloniki in 1989. At the age of 6, she
began her music studies (piano) at the "Conservatory of Northern
Greece". Later on, she continues her music studies (music theory,
classical violin) at the "Music College" conservatory. She continues
studying violin at State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, under the
guidance of Stefanos Simonides. In parallel to that, she attends the
Music School of Thessaloniki and, later on, she begins her
undergraduate studies in music theory/music education at Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki. She writes her thesis in the field of
ethnomusicology, on the topic of the violin tradition of Eastern Crete
and successfully completes her studies (Merit). During her studies, she
got introduced to traditional Greek music as she became a member of "Mousiko Politropo", a musicotheatrical
team under the supervision of the professor Ioannis Kaimakis.
She has been a member of the choir of Thessaloniki called “Classical Vocalists”, participating in productions by
the Opera of Thessaloniki and the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (2008-2010). She further continued her
theoretical studies of music at the “Tasia Kasiola” conservatory at Trikala (2011). Since 2010 she has been a
member of the vocal group “Pleiades” and she has also been a founding member of the music group “Markab
Trio”. She has been working as a music educator for pre-school and school ages as well as for adults.
Furthermore, from 2012 till now, she has been working as an instructor of vocal polyphonic singing. She has
been actively collaborating with various artists, in the occasion of different projects.
MAIN UI CONTROLS - BROWSER
ARTICULATIONS
A great amount of articulations have been recorded for Roula, grouped and divided in different patches.
1 SYLLABLE
Short syllables to build staccato-like phrases.
Available syllables are TO, KA, TI, STO, IS, ME, RO PO, EF, XE, THA, MOS
2 SYLLABLES
With 2 Syllables, more complex word-like formations.
Availables multi-syllables are, THA-SOS, DI-A, FO-VOS, DI-MOS, KA-SIOS, GALA
LEGATO
A very special patch has been prepared for those who need legato articulations. Seven different real-legato combinations
have been designed for achieving maximum versatility. They can be combined to achieve word-like combinations that
utilize real legatos.
Available legatos are AH (AIRY), UH, UHU > UNU (MORDENT), AH (MORDENT TO 3rd MINOR), AH (TURN) and two different
types of FREE LEGATO.
PHRASES & PHRASES SYNCED
More than 700 phrases have been recorded for those looking for more complex and still real combinations. Phrases can be
synced (to the DAW tempo) or unsynced. Unsynced phrases offer more versatility as the speed can be controlled (+/- 50%)
We couldn’t name the phrases “major” or “minor” since Roula uses a lot of minor seconds or modal eastern-like scales. For
that reason, we have organised the phrases in those that have a minor third and those that have a major third. Additionally,
there are unique phrases at different tempos such as 100BPM, 80BPM, 120BPM and using root notes such as D, C, G or A.
SUSTAINS
Traditional Sustains have been recoded for those looking for a classic approach. Sustains such as AH, HAH, UH, HUH or AH
(AIRY).
Additionally, more complex sustains with ornaments have also been included, such as UPPER/LOWER MORDENT
(HALF/WHOLE TONE), WHOLE TONE UP WITH ORNAMENT, INVERTED TURN, WITH MINOR THIRD ASC/DESC, ‘AH’/’HUH’
WITH DOUBLE TURN, ‘AH’/’HUH’ TO FIFTH AND BACK, ‘AH-E’ WITH BEND UP SLOW/FAST and ‘EH-E’ WITH BEND UP FAST.
MAIN UI CONTROLS - FOOTER
Roula contains a footer for quick controls. Attack and Release intensity can be easily accessible as well as sample speed* (+/- 50%).
Additional to that, a Pitch Envelope and a Glide dial work together for creating artificial risers/drops.
An Offset dial is also available* for controlling the sample start. When the RND button is pressed, the sample will randomly start
from 0 to the position of the Offset dial
Articulations can also be reversed* and stacked by using the buttons and finally, every single enabled effect along with the footer
can be randomised by using the CHAOS button.

MAIN UI CONTROLS - SEQUENCER
Roula contains a sequencer designed to offer quick ways for arpeggio building.
The main screen of the sequencer allows the user to control the velocity of each of the hits.
By using the HITS control, each of the hits will be repeated before going to the next hit.
The STEPS control can increase or decrease the amount of steps available on the sequencer. Any number from 2 to 32 steps is
available.
The RATE controls the speed at which the sequencer moves, always in sync with the DAW.
SWING control allows the user to add or remove time every two hits so as to create swing syncopation.
Finally, there are 15 patterns available in which the sequencer moves.
To disable the sequencer, set the pattern to BYPASSED
When enabled (i.e. not BYPASSED), the CHAOS button on the footer will also randomise it.
MAIN UI CONTROLS - EFFECTS
For Roula we have created a brand-new way of dealing with sound effects by using XY pads.
Roula contains 4 pads, each one with its independent FX control (in addition to the CHAOS effects)
First, to enable a pad, an ON/OFF button has to be toggled on. Once on, the CHAOS button on the footer
will also randomise the selected effect.
There are three types of filters and nine different effects that can be assigned in each of the pads.
Once an effect has been loaded, each of the X and Y sections of the pads
can also be manually assigned to any control of the loaded effect.
Once the X and Y are assigned to a control, they can be manipulated by
playing with the pad.
Right-clicking the X or Y label allows the user to assign the pad to a MIDI CC.
Each of the pads has an “intensity” dial to control how much of the effect is applied.
Additional to that, some of the effects have a secondary setting. In the case of the transform, an impulse can be loaded and in the
case of delay, a rate (tempo synced to the DAW) can be assigned.
When an FX is enabled, the CHAOS button on the footer will also randomise it.
MAIN UI CONTROLS - MODULATION
On the modulation page, three controls are accessible.
Expression controls such as Dynamics* (CC1) and Expression (CC11) can be manipulated and linked.
A GATE has also been added with intensity and rate controls.
The library can also be tuned up or down both chromatically (-12 semitones to +12 semitones) and freely.
Finally, Roula has been recorded using MS technique, for this reason, a STEREOPHONY knob controls the stereophonic image of the
voice.

CHAOS ENGINE
The new Chaos 4 Engine is the true
step forward in the direction of sound
customization.
We wanted to take the concept of
chance and extreme tweakability and
port it to our user-interface.
EFFECTS
The Effects page consists of multiple rack effects.
One of the main features of Chaos 4 is that any
effect can be set on any rack - just click its title
and choose what you need right now.. Moreover,
any effect can be used multiple times, just like 3
distortions on top of the filters, or six Transform
effects. Any knob can be assigned to any
parameter of the effect - you are absolutely free
to set everything to satisfy your wish of
convenience.
Chaos 4 contains 3 types of filters: LOWPASS, HIGHPASS and BANDPASS. They can be directly controlled by the interface, or by any
assigned MIDI CC. You can automate both CUTOFF and RESO parameters with the included sequencer, located on the SEQ page. And
Of course, you can hit CHAOS in order to randomise every relevant parameter.
The SEQ page consists of 2 step sequencers which allow you to automate both of these parameters at the same time. Switch
between the sequencers using the titles of the parameters. We also included DURATION which adjusts the speed of the sequence
remaining synced to your host tempo. STEPS knob adjusts the available amount of steps in the Sequencer and ON NOTE which will
restart the sequence upon every new note played.
EQ controls a 3 band Equaliser, we have included a handful of useful presets to help you in sculpting your sound. We also have
included a CHAOS control, this allows you to randomise every value, which is extremely useful for carving out new and interesting
sounds.
DISTORTION effect is another flexible tool in the engine. Of course we also have included a CHAOS control, which allows you to
randomise every value, which is extremely useful for carving out new and interesting sounds.
The SEQ page consists of a few vital controls to help control the DRIVE effect. This page contains a step sequencer to control
distortion in real time. We included DURATION knob which adjusts the speed of the sequence remaining synced to your host tempo.
STEPS knob adjusts the available amount of steps in the Sequencer and ON NOTE which will restart the sequence upon every new
note played.
LOFI is a bit crusher. Again, you can automate both BITS and RATE parameters with the included sequencer, located on the SEQ
page. And of course, you can hit CHAOS in order to randomise every relevant parameter.

SATURATOR gives warmth and power to the sound. Nothing excess here - just use it!
ROTATOR, FLANGER, CHORUS and PHASER are a bunch of modulation effects. Every parameter can be assigned to a MIDI CC, and of
course we have included a CHAOS control, this allows you to randomise every value, which is extremely useful for carving out new
and interesting sound morphings.
DELAY effect contains SPEED control which allows to set any time division - from 1/128 to 4/4, going through straight and triplet
measures. Soften the delay with DAMPING, control its WIDTH and FEEDBACK and MIX - from completely dry on the hard left to
completely wet on the hard right.
And, you guessed it, we included a CHAOS control, so you are able to randomise every relevant parameter, creating some truly
amazing delay patterns.
TRANSFORM and CONVOLUTION effects contain powerful impulse convolutions. Convolution can add the sound of a great hall or
another location, and Tranform may surprise you with some truly strange and wonderful presets. To change what convolution is
loaded, simply select the preset dropdown menu, and load any of our hand designed impulse responses. If you are feeling indecisive,
you can also select the CHAOS control, which will randomly assign a preset for you, as well as alter the available controls for some
truly esoteric results. The included controls can help you further shape the convolution, such as MIX which alters the wet value of
the insert, SIZE which stretches or compresses the impulse and PRE-DELAY which adds a small delay before the impulse is triggered.
Another great feature of Transform is TEXTURAL DELAYS (or Tempo-Synced Convolutions) - advanced rhythmic echo patterns that
automatically adapt to the host tempo.
REVERB contains a powerful digital reverb. This is a great tool for adding space and echo to your sound. Set the controllers how you
want - or click the CHAOS control and let the engine do the choosing for you.
