In every matter and at every moment we are most in need of Almighty Allah's
GUIDANCE AND STEADFASTNESS ON FAITH guidance. Shaytaan has promised to make every effort to misguide us yet we should
never despair of Almighty Allah's guidance. His guidance is a great blessing.
SubhaanAllah.
(DU'AA 1)
We should always ask Almighty Allah to guide us to the 'straight path' lest we lose
focus because of our own weakness and/or shaytaan's whispers. Guidance to and
steadfastness on the straight path leads to eternal salvation for the believer.
Belief in Allah Ta'aala and worshipping Him alone is the foundation of Islam. We need
to also believe in His beautiful attributes, that He alone is worthy of worship, He
alone do we seek assistance from, to Him we supplicate for our needs and from Him
alone do seek guidance to the straight path. J
'Ihdinas siraatal mustaqeem Imploring Almighty Allah to keep us steadfast on faith and in following the path of the |
righteous is an important daily supplication. We should also ask Him to keep us aloof
from the path of those who have earned His anger and from those who have strayed.
'Guide us (Oh Allah) to the straight path' Despite it's brevity, Surah Al-Faatihah (The Opening Surah of the Qur'an Kareem) has
encompassed the meanings of the entire Qur'an Kareem and this short yet powerful
Surah is a cure for our physical and spiritual maladies. Recited in every raka’at of our
five daily salaah, the first half of Surah Al-Faatihah contains the praise and attributes |
of Allah Ta'aala whilst the second half contains a supplication for the benefit of our
own sou Is. '
Knowing it's meaning and it's message is highly encouraged and we should make
effort to perfect it's Arabic recitation as well.
Peace and contentment in this world is not achieved by the accumulation of wealth
or material possessions, status or fame, qualification levels or job positions.
GOODNESS IN BOTH WORLDS
Practising good deeds for our Creator, consistent prayer, a grateful and conscious
heart and a tongue always busy in His remembrance is a means of attaining 'Hasanah'
(DU'AA 2) in this world.
'Hasanah’ includes all the inner and outer beauties and virtues.
'Hasanah' regarding the hereafter includes an easy reckoning, being saved from the,
punishment of jahannam, attaining Jannah and the pleasure of Almighty Allah and
ultimately the privilege of seeing Allah Ta'aala. jfl
Seek from Almighty Allah the strength, desire and pleasure to engage in His worship
and ask Almighty Allah to accept every good deed. Remember to always ask Allah for
"Rabbana aatina fid dunyaa hasanah, wa fil aakhirati the best in both the worlds. When asking for Jannah, ask for Al-Firdaus- The highest

OKe/lection
There are many paths in life. We need to determine our direction as not all lead to the
final destination.
STEADFASTNESS ON FAITH
Belief in The Oneness of Almighty Allah and the fundamentals of our true faith should
be our foundation. Focus on the destination and ignore the distractions.
(DU'AA 3)
Man can never be satisfied with his spiritual state and needs to constantly make an
effort to better himself and gain a better and stronger link with His Creator. It is highly
important to always seek Almighty Allah's guidance and help for steadfastness on
faith since shaytaan has pledged to make great efforts in misleading the believers.
Guidance is from Almighty Allah alone, the Creator and controller of hearts. Do not
ever lose hope in His guidance, mercy, forgiveness and help. Ji
We should never ever under-estimate the Power of Du'aa. Allah lovingly listens and
answers every Du'aa of the one whp asks of Him with firm faith in His Oneness, Power
and Wisdom. We need to learn to ask of Him in every condition and for every need.
"Rabbana laa thuzigh quloobana ba'da ith haday Through favourable and challenging situations always remember to speak to and

RIGHTEOUS DEATH our creation. Every soul shall taste death and we will be answerable for our deeds and
actions to Almighty Allah. A righteous life leads to a righteous death, which is a
blessing to the believer.
(DU'AA4)
Allah has created this world for our benefit and a means that we may prepare for our
meeting with Him. While travelling this earthly journey we may err, either by the
whispers of shaytaan or our own weakness. Seeking forgiveness from Allah for
intentional, unintentional, minor and major sins is necessary.
Istighfaar has many benefits for the one sincere in being pardoned; Almighty Allah

eternal reward awaits him in the hereafter. ' ■

jealousy-how can we then ascend the spiritual levels to earn the 'ultimate* status in
the court of Almighty Allah.
It was built-up hatred and jealousy that led the brothers of Yusuf AS to plot against
Him. However, it was Yusuf AS's faith in Almighty Allah, submission to His commands
and acceptance of His decree that beautifully manifested in his character, when he
forgave his own family for their selfish acts and plots against him. Submitting to the
commands and decree of Allah Ta'aala leads to a righteous and peaceful life filled

Life is temporary and so is the worldly status, wealth and exclusivity that is craved for.
Ultimately we need to strive in accumulating good deeds and earning Almighty

TO RELIEVE WORRY, DEPRESSION AND and blessings let us not live with a heart that is holding back forgiveness over any of

DIFFICULTY
In life we will be hurt by other's selfish behaviour, harsh words, dishonest dealings
etc, but as hopeful as we are to be amongst those forgiven by Allah Ta'aala let us
(DU'AA 21) FORGIVE ANYONE AND EVERYONE THAT WE HAVE NOT YET FORGIVEN IN LIFE.
A great challenge indeed, but wAllaahi, through this great effort not only will you feel

spiritually enlightening as it will attract Almighty Allah's special favours, mercy and,
forgiveness.
Gratitude is a sign of common sense and honourable nature. In the Qur'aan, Almighty
Allah mentions the Prophets as 'thankful1 and 'grateful* servants.
PRAISING ALLAH AND EXPRESSING GRATITUDE Many nations of the past were punished or destroyed due to their ingratitude,
arrogance and pride. A grateful nature brings peace and enjoyment in life and makes
us humble and thankful for every blessing.
(DU'AA 22)
Accepting the decree of Almighty Allah, being thankful to Him for all His favours,
showing appreciation to others for their help, advice and time are admirable
qualities. Human beings tend not to appreciate the good they receive and always
crave for more. Many expect thanks when they assist others but do not offer thanksi
when they are assisted.. I
When Prophet Muhammad was asked why He devoted so much time to prayer
